Cross country: Marist wins Warpath Invitational

Marist placed first at the Warpath Invitational at Cherokee Saturday in a field of 30 teams. Michael Thurston, Daniel Navarro and Frank Pittman had top-five finishes for Marist. The fastest overall time went to Kell junior Logan Poteet with a time of 15:39:58 and the Longhorns finished 15th overall.

In the 14th Annual Bainbridge Bearcat Invitational, 33 teams participated and host Bainbridge claimed first. Bainbridge junior Chase Harris finished more than a minute ahead of the field and clocked the fastest overall course time. North Hall went to South Carolina over the weekend and came back with a first-place finish at the Furman Classic. Bryce Schubert, Zack Hill and Quintin Miles were top 10 finishers for the Trojans.

East Paulding, Hiram, North Paulding, Paulding County and South Paulding ran at the Paulding County Cross Country Championship on Tuesday. Hiram senior Jacob Robinson finished with the top time, but North Paulding finished first overall with five runners placing in the top 10 of the field of 35.

Alexander, Chapel Hill, Douglas County, Lithia Springs and New Manchester are running in the Douglas County Cross Country Championship on Thursday and a field of nine teams will run in the 3rd Annual Coach Daley Invitational on Saturday including host Northgate.
