Quarterback Andrew Johnson led McIntosh on the opening drive of the second half that resulted in a touchdown run by Johnson on a quarterback sneak. McIntosh improved to 3-0.

North Paulding 33, Lithia Springs 8: The visiting Wolfpack held a 7-0 halftime lead but were able to pull away in the second half behind senior quarterback Chase Noonan, who threw for three touchdown passes. The Wolfpack defense had a shutout until late in the fourth quarter.

AJC who is reporting the Tucker game stats? This is two weeks in a row and you left the QB and several other running-backs out of the credits. Are you really paying attention? This is really “round about” reporting! Tonight you mixed up the scoring running-backs by one number. Don’t want to call names but let’s get it right if you’re going to tell it.

Also… The Tucker kicker (Eric Weber hit any and every attempt he made. At least 5/6 times tonight.

@J. What you see is most likely staff reports the AJC picked up from Score ATL. Reporters are not sent to games like “Arabia Mountain” and “North Atlanta” because of the above outcome.

In essence, you will see coverage, photos, etc. at marquee games like “Stephenson” and “MLK” for example.

The players mentioned are referenced to the “32″ points Tucker scored.. Four TDs and a FG.

Now if the wrong players were mentioned, that could be an issue with the person who emailed the recap.

@J – I’ve worked in the Milton pressbox for almost a decade as a volunteer. The AJC (and ScoreAtl.com) reports on high school games but mostly reports what is provided by the schools (they send reporters but there are too many games). Normally, the schools have a single point of contact that sends information to the media. Some schools are better than others. If Tucker’s stats are bad, talk to the AD and volunteer.

Arabia Mtn has the worse OC in the state. Its clear his inexperience is showing. I am a parent of a player on the team and my son told me its not the players its the OC. Coach Pritchett do us all a favor and get rid of your OC and DC

My first post all year about East Paulding. GoPcGo is correct, But EP needs work on both side. I’ve been keeping my mouth shut because I think the NP game could have gone either way and for sure losing Webb so quickly has hurt all year so far. EPs offence is so one dimensional without Webb. Everyone can load up for the run and unfortunately this year’s running game needs it spread out. Tea Ray just can’t run over people like Thomas could last year. The defense looks great at times but also looks totally confused far too many times. I just don’t see the confidence as before. Could that be the Coach or Webb missing on the field I’m not sure. Webb looked great throwing it at half time. I’m not sure what his status is for next week against New Manchester, but if he’s missing and the defense doesn’t hold them I suspect this could be a loss.

I wouldn’t put it all on OC, Coach Pritchett isn’t a proven winner himself. Also the O-line isn’t very big this year either, it’s going to be hard to pass protect against athletic teams, and passing was Arabia’ strength last season. You cant win every game and losing to Stephenson and Tucker and soon MLk isn’t the most horrible thing. Just beat the teams you should and 7-3 is a realistic goal. Miller Grove and Mays will decide Arabia’s playoff fate.

First congrates to the Panthers of SWD, as I predicated the win over Lakeside. The question is there a decline for one of DeKalb’s great programs or could Lakeside be on an upswing for 2013? I haven’t seen the 2013 Panthers, but plan to be in the house next week in a crucial matchup with the Raiders of Mays.

Agree with Tiger4Life analysis on the 2013 Arabia team. This year’s Rams version does not have the talent to execute the spread offense effectively like the 2012 team, especially against elite programs. IMO, this FAN happy offensive scheme has short comings at the HS level. It requires so much superior talent, QB/WR/OL, that HS teams cannot field on an ever year bases – Arabia had these pieces in 2012, but not in 2013.

Kudos to Coach Lamar (Tucker) for calling off the Tigers, early in the second half and allowing the JV & 9th graders 2 qts of Friday Night action. This move is a sign of the future of Tiger football, because Tucker would have embarrassed Arabia MTN and that’s not the way you do a county and region brother.

PC does show a good bit of improvement….I think. East coaches allowed the team to take the field with 10 players 4 different times. Players alertly yelling and waving to the sidelines finally woke up the coaching staff. I remember when PC was a football powerhouse. It would be great for our region to see that again. Right now Patriots have the up arrow, Raiders have the down arrow.

@tiger4life. its not hard to pass on tucker and stephenson so last year arabia put points on teams who are not built for the passing game. This year the OC is horrible. He cant even muster a few points on teams built for the run. I should have took the advice of a former coach and took my son to MLK

Arabia Mtn scores from last year

Arabia 18 Stephenson 28
Arabia 20 Tucker 39
Arabia 6 MLK 24

So it’s not like they avg. 40 points a game last year.
If you can’t block up front it doesn’t matter how good the QB and receivers are, you don’t time to throw the ball. That’s fundamentals 101.

I think you should be more concerned with the defense, they look like they haven’t practiced tackling at all.

Have you really seen Stephenson special teams and field goal kicker & punter; the guys has kicked more field goals than I have ever seen at Stephenson, just about every time he kicks the ball off, it goes into the enzone.

I know you are not going to give them credit, but for the first time in this early season, the Jags are more balance on offense, their defense is playing like “Defense” of old, you guys and the rest of the Region and state are going to have to bring if you plan to play with the JAGS this season. 2 down 14 to go…

@ 5AREG6FAN- Thats how you suppose to do it, especially when you racking up points so easily just make room from your jv to play so they can get that experience in.. MLK does that which is why we dont rack up 50 or more as often as we should.. makes no difference as long as your future varsity get playing time in those kinda games.. Great game to TUCKER, they look real fierce last night.. Im liking their Dominick Sanders.. That boy got some speed on him.. and that number 5 !! Something that might be a concern but hopefully not much lol.. what school is Dominick goin to?? do you kno?? Hopefully UGA or UFLA!!

Hey Big 3 fans, guess what??? Mlk lost to MAYS!!! Can you believe that?? I kno i kno im just as shocked but specials CONGRATS goes out to beating a SLOPPY MLK team… Tonight my Lions defense were penalized over stupid mistakes on the defense like 10 to 12 offside penalties but other than that the defense did not show up tonight at all.. It was a game of all offense in which Mays defense carried them to victory.. Not mad at that, but the defense need to WAKE UP from this point on if we expected to be region champs for the 4th consecutive yr.. MLK got this still.. FIRST region loss in 2 yrs its all guud we still got this and we definitely gonna make it up next game!! Great job former coach Jarvis on ur victory but we far from tappin out here!!

@just sayin Arabia sucks period. it;s academic school with no support at all. I heard they have to be off field at 6:30 but you want to win football games. Cant blame the OC they move the ball just not finishing at all. Maybe the kids aren’t really that good at all. You basing things off last year heck how many games they won. Its always blame to go around but have some balls and go up to your head Coach or OC instead hiding behind the blogs. truth is no matter how many points Arabia was going score you sill wasn’t going win because you have no defense at all.

East is on trouble on offense without Webb, their D is tough, if it were not for them they would of lost to the Patriots, who like I said are a much better team than they are given credit for.. They are 1-3 and the 3 losses come to teams with a combined record of 10-1. 2 of the losses by a 7 or less.. Things are on the up and up for PC

Its over for MLK. They are not very good this year, and was very overrated. The last coaching staff went out and got the kids they needed to win. The MLK district don’t have the feeder program like Tucker and Stephenson(Central Dekalb). Mays is a very young team and will be even better the next couple of years. Look for Stephenson and Mays to battle for the region title the next couple of years.

Why are people surprised that Mays beat MLK? We lost to the each of the “Big 3″ by 7 or less points last year. I knew that once we got some solid coaching that we would be ok. Good win for my Raiders! Our focus is on SWD this week. Keep your eyes on the prize!

@JAB – I have seen Stephenson live, The Battle of the Boarders & Arabia and I will say, the special teams, especially in the kicking game, is MUCH improved and will add to the Jags overall success. This is what makes the 10/11 showdown a much anticipated game in Region 6.

@MIGHTY LION KING – There are few schools that #1 for Tucker is looking at. At this time, he hasn’t committed and keeping it close to his vest.

The Mays victory over MLK opens up more discussion for region 6 supporters – Welcome back Raider fans.

Don’t get it twisted! I am a MLK supporter and they purely got beat by a well prepared and well motivated team. Mays clearly played better ball (can’t blame refs). Refs wasn’t pushing the players offsides. I have been telling everyone who were willing to listen that this MLK team is the most undiscip[line team out of the last four years. How do you teach someone who is always making excuses for their failures????????? Some of the kids appear as though they are not being coached. The quarterback makes poor decisions and hold the ball too long, even on handoffs. The defensive backs are subpar and makes mistakes (Mays knew this). The linebackers are out of position many times. Where is the improvement this year??????? Scouts are watching.

On the bright side. . . . . . .maybe this is a loss that you needed to get refocused. The AJC and a few Lion supporters does not do this team any justice by always saying how great they are. It’s good to be encouraging but there is always room for improvement. Especially when you talk about winning State every year. DISCIPLINE! If you don’t know – watch Tucker!

Why is #33 getting limited touches. You have a weapon that you are scared to use. If MLK get anywhere near the redzone, they should feed #33 – he’s hungry!!!! I saw an instance in the game where they were around the five yard line and trotted #22 and #28 in the game. I couldn’t believe it. Are they promising some kids touchdowns??????? FEED #33 and you would be surprise how easy it is to pass.

Goddard has to go…..our Defense is the center of their team right now and will continue to get stronger….I know some of the kids on that PC team and believe they are headed places..but Goddard made PC and every other team they will play this year look more difficult than they really are….East has a host of talent on the side line and strong talented underclassmen that are not being utilized. Webb is a key but the running game is soft, weak, and lacks intensity/skill. They had a hell of a running game core with the Freshman group last year (FB#43 TB#44) and offensive line. Why not use them (WIN..WIN..WIN)? Goddard needs to be replaced…I dont believe he cares enough (hell i hear he still lives in Cobb..no dedication to East Paulding)…Does anyone have a clue HOW to get him out?Next phase…The assistant coaches do have vision and drive, but are wimpish about stepping up due to Goddard’s temper tantrums.

We (ALL) new that MLK was not a strong as they have been in the past, even AJC by ranking them at #4 in the state NOTE: @ that was because of their history! I knew they would bend because of (ALL) of the coaching transistion at that school. Don’t get the big head MAYS because you still have get by SWD. STATEMENT: N. Atlanta can beat anybody on any given day, “Be Real APS schools”, I don’t think so.

Neither of you guys played any defense, 36 pts. will not be score against Stephenson or Tucker. SWD is getting stronger and you’ve better be on your “A” game if you think that you are just gonna show up and beat them. The two big cats will humble you on down and put you back into your place (Tucker & Stephenson), but a big congratulation and the win might definitely deemed you as a legit region 6AAAAA playoff contender. Hold your head up MLK 3rd or 4th place finish is not nothing to hold your head down in the toughest region in the state…

So EAST “SQUEEKED” by with a win Friday over PAULDING COUNTY…So now EAST is 2 / 1 with a home game coming up this week against surprising NEW MANCHESTER who is UNDEFEATED at 4 / 0 and sitting on top of REGION 5AAAAA…

It’s hard to know what the 4 / 0 record REALLY shows about NEW MANCHESTER as 3 of the wins came against 0 / 4 WOODLAND BARTOW, 0 / 2 LITHIA SPRINGS, & 1 / 3 PAULDING COUNTY…Now the game that makes you look hard at what they have done is the win AT NORTH PAULDING where they won 41 / 30…this is a VERY good NORTH PAULDING team and NEW MANCHESTER beat them at NORTH PAULDING!

So Friday should be interesting in “THE BONEYARD” as NEW MANCHESTER visits for the first time…EAST is playing without it’s starting senior QB who was hurt in the loss to NORTH PAULDING and by now I am sure most of you have seen the many post about EAST also playing with a coach who doesn’t have clue how to coach at this level.

SO…EAST has to play error free and be fired up from the start…this game will go a long way in determining who wants to be # 1 in REGION 5AAAAA…

QB Andrew Johnson is a BEAST! 9 total touchdowns so far this year with 0 INTs. McIntosh is 3-0 for the second year in a row, becoming the first team in school history to do so consecutively. Plus, MHS defense is playing lights out. Blocked field goals, blocked extra points, destroying the turnover ratio, & holding each of their opponents to only one TD. They have outscored their opposition 100-20 in 3 games. How are you guys not on this?
