Predictions: Look for North Gwinnett to take control in 7-AAAAAA

Top-ranked North Gwinnett and No. 6 Norcross get a chance to take early control of 7-AAAAAA when they meet Friday to open region play. Either Norcross or North Gwinnett has won the Region 7 championship in the highest classification each of the past four seasons. Look for North Gwinnett to win this time. Also, take Carrollton (over Calhoun), Colquitt County (over Carver-Columbus) and Marist (over Lovett) in some other top matchups. And I learned my lesson again last week … Buford over Hancock Central.

Hmmmm that Burke over Coffee kind of stood out.

Might should have headlined with that prediction.

MLK has a great memory Coach Jarvis. What you said at the booster club meeting (2009). Passing league 2013. Good Luck!

Kell##Lassiter????

I know Kell is ranked in a lower classification. But Lassiter was was within 7 (35-28) deep into the 4th quarter on the road against the now #2 ranked 6A team in the state 2 weeks ago. McEachern eventually prevailed 42-28. Kell does not have the weapons McEachern has on either side of the ball to hang with Lassiter.

Last year against “The Best Secondary in the State”, Lassiter torched them for an early 28-0 lead. One of those members in that secondary, now playing at UGA, got beat twice against Clemson. Langley is fast and a good athlete but he has a problem with staring at the QB. Former Lassiter WR Ryan Jenkins up in Knoxville is probably hoping he can get in a few snaps when UT plays UGA..

@gridiron we all know carver has a great team,,but its homecoming 4 the packers,,,we rarely lose in the hog pen,,should be a great game,,but I will say the packers may not be the most athletic, and probably not the better team, but we always find a way to win down the stretch.Carver was ranked the last 2yrs. we’ve played them & blow them out both times. we beat them 33-0 last year..

@Camden74. It sure could happen. I think it is higly likely that North will lose at least one of their games against opponents like Norcross, Mill Creek, P Ridge, and Collins Hill. For that reason there is a good chance that McEachern, Lovejoy, and the winner of Camden v Colquitt will be ranked above North going into the playoffs.

However, North has been ranked #1 before and highly ranked many times. Nobody cares all that much about rankings since no ranking will win a single playoff game. North is focussed on each opponent in order to get to the dome. Playing strong opponents all season should help regardless of rankings or standings, unless the schedule leaves the team with injuries.

There are some great games coming up. I hope that all teams do well, the players have stellar performances, and nobody gets hurt.

Not many teams south of Macon getting much love… You’ll be eating humble pie come Monday on several games, including the Coffee/Burke game. Coffee 38- Burke 21.. Coffee will control Mr. Green Coffee has more speed on defense and an offense that not many defenses can handle… Apparently destroying Ware doesn’t get ya nothing, when everyone out there predicted Ware would run over Coffee. Watch…Ware to the Dome this year, again…
