Let’s see how well NG handles being # 1. Hopefully, they’ll still be there during the playoffs. If they win it all, they will have earned it! :-)

Game will tell a lot. Perfect time for the Norcross DBs to prove what (Maloof) stated bout them being better than Simp/Akins. #RIZM, they know!

North looks very good, Norcross has to play up to their potential, wich means at this point they haven’t. Norcross does have the best overall talent. Millcreek may have equal offensive talent and size, just a little small on defense but extremely quick. don’t count them out of the mix this year.Norcross by 8 sorry NORTH.

It is true this game will tell a lot…North has to play mistake free football to win. Norcross for all their talent does have weaknesses. I think this North team is going to give them fits – I will most certainly be there to witness this one. If Norcross comes out like they did in the first half against Parkview, they will lose and lose badly. Looking forward to this one; GPB will not do it justice. Its STILL EARLY, no one is hitting on all cylinders yet (except BTW). Expecting a good game, not like the last time we were at Norcross….

This game will be a good one but I will have to give the edge to North because that stack defense is complex and your QB has to hit those small open holes quick because u might not get another chance and if North can stuff Norcross run game then I don’t know if the cross QB will be able to get it done. But hey Norcross is at home so the game will be crazy!!! Looking forward to it!!!

@ Shabo…Thank you captain obvious. DUH Norcross’s DB’s are good. They are always stud athletes, but Maloof and company usually don’t coach them all the way. Last year was an awesome season and I was glad that Norcross finally did something with all that talent. However, this year will most likely be like any other…Tons of talent but lack of coaching. Literally bus loads of D-1 talent that any program across the county would kill for…like NG LOL but we like our players undersized and smarter than the other team, and you can always tell how well coached our average athletes are every season. They just play harder and give more effort on every play than the majority of teams they play and/or beat. Best of luck to the Blue Devils Friday.

@ Jimb…You said the same thing last year about MC and NG still sent them home crying. MC is another perfect example of a lack of superior coaching. I’ve said it every year and it’s nothing but the truth. NG wins because of it’s superior coaching, and when they lose it’s because they play a team with bigger and faster athletes with equally good coaching. MC has never even come within a TD of beating NG and I don’t see it happening anytime soon. However, the Hawks do look very good this year and are one of the key reasons why the power has shifted from Region 8 to Region 7 in Gwinnett.

@ BulldogsStillBite….The last time NG played Norcross @ Norcross, NG won…and it was a hell of a come back win.

Also, NG has beaten Norcross 4 out of the last 5 years.

@NGHS 09 – I was there in ‘11 and enjoyed every minute except for the mysterious “lights out” incident…I have to agree with your assessment of North. On PAPER, Norcross should win, but that does not account for coaching and heart, both of which North has in abundance. Even when they played Byrnes several years ago, they didn’t quit….but they did have a “Norcross” moment against Camden in ‘09….I shouldn’t say it like that – our offense that year was built around CJ and when got hurt in the 8th or 9th game, it was not the same. It was actually exactly as you described it. Camden was great on both sides of the ball with solid coaching…the ONLY way Norcross wins is if North makes too many mistakes; this team seem to have better discipline in that regard. I expect North to win and run the table with the rest of the region. MC and PR should provide for some excitement, but that about it….

@NGHS 09 – I had an absolute misplay on words earlier…that ‘11 game was the BEST comeback I have ever witnessed!

NGHS 09 – in all due respect regarding Norcross and whether or not they’re coached properly, please restrain yourself a bit. Losing 34-6 in the Finals in 2007 to Lowndes was the best NG has done so far. Otherwise, few teams has been a bigger dud come playoff time. Except a 23-19 loss to Grayson, when NG has lost in the playoffs, they lose big (Camden 35-0 comes to mind). If I was a betting man, I would have already gone bankrupt betting for your team. That stigma won’t go away until NG wins it all. Mind you, I root for Gwinnett teams and will again this year come playoffs, and I love Sphire’s offense, but a little humility wouldn’t hurt, would it?

Anyone heard from bksmith? Someone that knows him should check on him. To further dampen his mood I heard the Hatcher kid he’s been telling us was the best athlete to ever come through Lowndes High transferred over to Valdosta this morning. Oh my!

@ NGHS09 == I am with you guy’s this week. Norcross may not be as bad as they seem but I don’t think the can cover your receivers. In order for them to beat you, they must disrupt the timing of the passing game. Then again, I’m not sure they can apply enough pressure to accomplish this.

BK will be back after Lowndes next win or Valdosta loses to Newton.

@ GwinnettDad…As always my friend, you’re reading and jumping to conclusions as to the meaning of my post. NG beating Norcross 4 out of the last 5 years is not a boastful statement by any stretch. It’s a valid fact and I stated that I was happy for Norcross. I never said NG would win it all or that they’re the best team on the planet. I just stated facts :) Sarcasm is just another form of humor. The only “duds” that NG has ever had in the postseason was the loss to Lowndes in 07 and the loss to Camden in 09…other than that they’ve done very well. Using that logic…every team that goes deep into the playoffs consistently year in and year out, but doesn’t win a state title, is a DUD :) Who knows for sure though? This year could be the special season. Time will tell. But you’re probably right; absolute dud this season.

Please don’t get me wrong here guys. Norcross is a very good team with a lot of depth athletically. They will catch up experience-wise after Friday night. One thing is for sure though…NG’s WR’s may be tall and fast but they don’t present near the headache/nightmare in open space like the WR’s from Booker T. Washington. They looked like Oregon and Norcross was overwhelmed. ANY team in this state would have a difficult time covering those kids. They were like a professional circus and magic show all in one. This is the first time i’ve made any comment about that game, and the people that think that game “exposed” what Norcross is, have a rude awakening coming. I’m serious about keeping the lights on all game though! LOL

@ BulldogsStillBite…The Byrnes game was my senior year and the only player that we were remotely scared of was Lattimore. He was only a sophomore and a freak of nature LOL. Their team was in complete shock after the first couple of minutes of the game because we were hitting them harder than any team most of those kids had ever played. I feel the same about NG’s chances to win the region and all, but don’t let GwinnettDad catch you saying that!!!

If Norcross plays another half like the one at Parkview, North will not be their only problem. I expect a battle; the team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.

@NGHS09……What a dummy, if you can read then you would understand what I’m saying….sure never said that I was “captain obvious”. I’m stating that (Maloof) says his corners now are better that Simp/Akins and now they can prove him right against a passing team……what a dummy u r.

North Gwinnett is the better team this year. They have the play makers on both sides of the ball, and they’ll put a good win up on Friday night. NG wins 28-14

Norcross was HYPE, plain and simple. Carter can be controlled, he’s no Clowney. And Bush, the quarterback has looked bad in all 3 games this year (including the Colquitt Scrimmage)
