My questions are, how do you go from being ranked # 95, to being ranked # 19 in one week? Or, from not being ranked at all, to being # 10 in a top 25 Ranking System? I would be embarrassed to even post something like that! :-)

Who decides these rankings? Does it really matter about national rankings in high school? You have a chance for a imaginary national title!!

I assume the rankings are based on who you play and the quality of your win. It is not like we ask or lobby to be ranked nationally. It is primarily recognition for past accomplishments. If you team won a national championship, mythical or not, would you not wear the T-shirt that proclaimed them as such?

It’s called guestimation, they can’t really rank 15 -18 years old kids because they still are developing! I think they should do away with HS National Ranking unless they come up with some kind of playoff system. :)

@JAB, That’s right because even though Sandy Creek is a very good AAAA team, in no way shape form or fashion could they beat Tucker, MLK or Stephenson. Those so called rankings are for ESPN’s coverage of High School Football.

Umm . . . we beat Tucker the last time we played them: 17-14 in the second round of the AAAA playoffs in 2009. We will gladly play MLK, Stephenson, or any other higher class school as a non-region game. Our coach is just a call away. We would prefer playing a team that has actually won a championship though.

Sandy Creek would crush MLK or Stephenson. Sandy Creek has been the best team in the state most of the last 5 years.

These rankings are not the latest. Gainesville is no longer ranked and Sandy Creek is No.39 in Rivals. North Gwinnett is the highest team in Georgia in Rivals at No.10 and No.8 in Max Preps. Mill Creek slips into Rivals at No.98 (first time for them in the Rivals poll ever). If Tucker keeps it up they’ll be in soon but as we ll know that region everyone will beat up on everyone so let the chips fall where they may.

@Patriot Power…Great Comment..Trojan ‘85 has not done his homework..I was at the game when Sandy Creek won. However, I must say that night Tucker was overall good but NO special teams and all of SC points came off of Special Team..In Tucker’s Region they normally dont practice special team which kills them in playoff. So I give Tucker credit that night but still SC showed that you have to be good a in all parts of the game to win…Go Creek!!

None of us want to admit it because they are in a lower classifaction but Buford may be the best thing the state has this year. @Sandy Creek, I don’t think that was one of Plant’s better Teams y’all beat. Their starting tailback didn’t play due to injury.

Why is North Cobb ranked, McEachern senior class has never lost to them and this will be the same. McEachern is getting no respect this year!
