I hear that Stephenson had to get 3 players from Tucker to wakeup there system over there. Like they have said in the past that they recurit from other schools to bring players in but can’t win the big one. Is this another year that they choke again. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

@ Bigdog58, Stephenson has always had a quality program, they have made the playoffs every since they came into Region play, have been either 2nd place or Region champs in their perspective region, lead the state in D1 players over the last 5 years. Broke the playoff jinx last year by winning 2 games, and because they are gotten bigger & stronger this year, you want to hate on them. They are still Dekalb County and on a mission this year! They also have the longest running coach who is so hungry for a state championship.

Leave the JAGS alone and stay out of grown folks business, everybody in Dekalb County & Region 6AAAAA knows that this is the Jaguars year to win the state, “AND YOU KNOW THIS MAAANNNNN…..!!!!!”

@ Another thing, they are still a relatively a young program, how many year did it take for Tucker to finally win a state championship, Need I say more? The Jags are on top of the mountain looking down on the rest of region 6AAAAA, with a one game at a time that will lead them to the Dome, in December to win it’s 1st State championship so, don’t hate but appreciate your JAGS and Dekalb County team & Band with the “S” on their chest (super band), let me throw that in since they did such a super job last night, also their band is much bigger than last year… WHAT A COMPLETE PACKAGE FOR THE JAGS…

Well EAST PAULDING tried to get back on the winning track last night at WOODLAND / BARTOW…however the win doesn’t really tell much as while EAST won 30 / 0 BUT WOODLAND / BARTOW is now 0 / 3 on the season by a combined score of 3 / 107 against VILLA RICA, ALLATOONA and now EAST.

EAST tried different QB’s and scored with passing, on the ground, by a touchback and with an interception. After a scoreless 1st quarter EAST used the rest of the game learning how to play without Mitchell Webb the starting Senior QB who watched from the sidelines after being injured in last weeks game against NORTH.

EAST now has to visit PAULDING COUNTY next week before hosting a surprising NEW MANCHESTER team on the 20th who is now 3 / 0 after beating NORTH PAULDING last night.

Last night’s win was good to see but proved NOTHING as far as the coaching ability of Coach Goddard and talk in the stands was even stronger about how EAST can replace him. The kids HAVE to stay focused and win this coming week AT PAULDING COUNTY…that would put EAST at 2 / 1 on the season and in the region with the next game at home against NEW MANCHESTER then an away game at VILLA RICA… EAST has to go no worse than 2 / 1 over these 3 games (3 / 0 would be HUGE) before an open week. This gives Mitchell time to heal and be ready for the big games at the end of the schedule.

TICK…TICK…TICK…BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

@ Reeze don’t know if you are in Dekalb County, region 6AAAAA or were you at the game last night? It was a lot of hype about Arabia Mtn.by AJC & in the region, they played everybody tough last year. They was supposed to UPSET STEPHENSON LAST NIGHT!! This is Region 6AAAAA, the SEC of HS football, best in the state where on any given night anybody can beat you; we have quality teams in our region. Didn’t we proved that last year with 3 teams standing after the 1st round of the playoffs; 3 teams currently ranked in the top 5 spots. ENOUGH SAID! @ like I said Stephenson is a proven top team, every year they are ranked, either have won their region or 2nd place finish.

The school is still relatively young and will win it’s 1st state championship this year, mark this down in your book man!! “ENOUGH SAID!”

Hey Cannon, don’t sleep on Paulding Co…my Bucs beat them 39-0 but it was a pretty close first half and the score was not really indicative of the game, it wasn’t easy. They are ALOT better than Woodland and ALOT better than they were last year. My Bucs cannot sleep on Rome or they will be in trouble as well.

Hate to say it but Tucker is the team to beat to get to the hallowed ground. They are more experienced and stronger, and yes even faster. They are gonna be very hard to beat.This is coming from a NSWR homer, I just have to be realistic, I guess they are on Gville side of the bracket but they will get them too, their secondary and defense will just be too quick for that QB, as good as he is. It is played on the field but we will see!

LOL.. Are ya kidding?

@LOL
ya, i couldn’t really figure that call out but my buddy said he saw the hold? Looked like a real nice play to me..Don’t get me wrong, we were going to win that game, but PC scores there and gets momentum going into half, it probably is a much closer score and who knows what happens. Bucs are very young this year, but still alot of talent. Didn’t like that PC didn’t shake hands after the game but i heard there was a fight on the field near the end and their coaches felt it was just better to get off the field instead of escalating ?

@ blu eagle, oblivously you don’t know much about Stephenson & MLK or the all powerful Region 6AAAAA, Stephenson is stacked and got Tucker’s number, they had it last year and even when they played them in the scrimmage back when Stephenson was in the state highest classification. Stephenson defense is thick and when I say “thick”, they are horsemen, with several D1 players on the roster.

Stephenson offense is more balance this year which makes them even powerful and for the 1st time since Reggie was QB, they have a QB who will run the ball; not saying that I don’t agree with you about Tucker but the JAGS are probably more hungry for a state crown then anybody in the state. You will see in the weeks to come and in December! Watch out for the team that sits on top of the mountain and watches it’s prey fall week by week, no other than the Stephenson High Jaguar. NSWR, Gainesville, Tucker etc. etc. it doesn’t matter because the JAGS are coming to be crowned High School AAAAA Football state champions in 2013…

@bucfan
I’ve seen the film, I can see WHY the back judge called the hold, but it was not, it was a good block. Either way, woulda coulda shoulda.. I do believe the out come may of been the same, but would have been more respectable. Because you know as well as I do someone sees the score how they will react. PC is a much better football team than they get credit for, just continue to follow them everyone will see.. As far as them not shaking hands there was no fight, but things did become very “chippy” on the last play. I know PC’s head coach he is an awesome guy and in no way would he not shake hands out of poor sportsmanship. He always has the best interest of the kids opposing team as well at heart. Like you said he did it to prevent anything from getting out of hand. He did meet with your guys head coach at mid field and shook hands. Good luck to your guys the rest of the way, tune in Friday night it’s gong to be shocking!!!

@ LOL.. Are ya kidding & bucfan…

ALLATOONA travels to ROME this week and needs to be ready, ROME lost a barn-burner to SOUTH PAULDING in week one 42 / 35 then come back and beat HIRAM 35 / 13…They CAN score it appears! ALLATOONA has yet to be tested with no one yet scoring on your “D”…beating WOODLAND / BARTOW 50 / 0 then last week PAULDING COUNTY 39 / 0…

EAST still has issues everywhere and while the win against WOODLAND / BARTOW was good to see and needed after the opening loss to NORTH PAULDING the same problems remain. EAST offense struggled all night as they rotated two different QB’s with limited success at best and neither showing the stability and leadership needed to effectively run the offense against even an average “D”…this game WAS good for confidence and tune-up for up coming games and Friday night against PAULDING COUNTY will undoubtedly be a much tougher test for EAST.

EAST starting Senior QB Mitchell Webb was on the sidelines still recuperating from his shoulder injured in the NORTH game. As I said in an earlier post, the win against WOODLAND / BARTOW was good to see but proved NOTHING as far as the coaching ability of Coach Goddard and talk in the stands was even stronger about how EAST can replace him. ENOUGH!!!!! I have heard enough from you JAB! We don’t care who you have at Stephenson. Take Dallas, take Chauncey, hell take ‘em all. We play football at Tucker no matter who lines up in front of us. Truth be told we would have given you Chauncey anyway as long as you took his mother with you.

I have heard enough about this crap that we are a young program and Tucker has been around longer and just won a state championship. You sound like you are smoking the bad stuff and drinking too much of the good stuff! We don’t even know the people that were here 50 to 60 years ago. They don’t go to school here anymore nor do they come to the games, well maybe some of them still come, but that has nothing to do with Tucker football in the last 7 years. We have won state championships with the same kids from the parks that have been competing against Stephenson kids from Central Dekalb, Redan, Glennwood, Midway, Sandtown, Ben Hill, Gresham Park, and all the other metro parks. So you see we are from the same community with the same players. The only difference is that we win championships and you talk about D1 stats.

Be assured that “Blu eagle” knows exactly what he is talking about because we have played them the last three years and all games have been barn burners. They know that the team that had them beat last year until the last minutes of the game is 10 times better this year. We are loaded with more seniors, more speed, more skill, and more experience than last years team.

The ajc got it right this week, we are #1 and it’s up to everyone else to prove us wrong!

@D – I went back and read all the previous post, and saw/read NO TUCKER supporter, talking about recruiting. Tucker doesn’t need to recruit; the PROGRAM has been a proving winning TRADITION for MANY years. Those who want the BEST, seek out the BEST. You seem to know a lot about TUCKER, which team do you support?

@True Blue – What team do you support? With your supposed knowledge of Tucker, you write like you might have attended Tucker High School. I would recommend keeping names out of a PUBLIC media like this, could cause embarrassment, even to YOU!

I’m just hoping for a good game against MLK this week. We play in a tough region, not unlike the days when we had Tucker, St.Pius, and Marist as the big 3. But in the end, Tucker is really the only team that’s proved anything. They make runs every year and win championships. Obviously, Mays hasn’t gone anywhere unless you wana talk about basketball, but I don’t think the regular season matters much unless you’re looking for bragging rights. End of the day, everyone wants that game in the Dome.
