Softball: Week 4 rankings

By Score Atlanta

Kennesaw Mountain continues to dominate opponents and retains the top spot in AAAAAA. After a loss to River Ridge, Woodstock is bumped from the No. 10 position and replaced by the surging Dacula Falcons whose only loss is to North Gwinnett. Northgate assumes the top spot in AAAAA thanks to their recent victories over Union Grove and Ola, both ranked teams. Northgate drops to the No. 10 spot after recent in-class losses.

In a largely unchanged Class AAAA top 10, Woodland-Henry enters the poll to replace a Rutland team that may soon fall below .500. Buford maintains its stranglehold on AAA’s top spot and looks to be one of the state’s top teams regardless of classification. Rockmart replaces Chapel Hill in the top 10 after defeating the Panthers last week.

In AA, Bacon County trades a spot with Vidalia this week on the strength of their victory in a head-to-head matchup. Washington-Wilkes bumps out Harlem thanks to its head-to-head win. In the A combined class, the smaller schools continue to challenge themselves against state powers in higher classes, but Prince Avenue Christian proved its mettle with a win over George Walton Academy. Brookstone enters the poll at No. 9.

How is Fannin County #9 in AAA in the state, but have been beaten by unranked teams in their region? The rest of the AAA list looks accurate, but Fannin at 9? Come on!
