B.E.S.T. Academy 48, Cross Keys 0: Visiting B.E.S.T. Academy held Cross Keys scoreless in the first half with a 21-0 lead. The Eagles’ defense kept Cross Keys in check by holding the Indians to less than 50 yards on the ground.

Buford 46, Elbert County 7: Six different players found the endzone for host Buford. In the first quarter, Josh Thomas scored on a 13-yard score and Donte’ Gordon added a 5-yard touchdown run to close the first quarter. Thomas Wilson scored a 6-yard touchdown in the second quarter, and the Wolves’ defense forced an Elbert County safety. Matthew Bonadies added a 28-yard field goal to make it 26-0. Sophomore Isaac Notta caught a 15-yard pass from Taylor Mitchell and Steven Reece caught a 45-yard pass from Montgomery VanGorder. Evan Cooper scored Buford’s final touchdown on a 52-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Jackson-Atlanta 40, Therrell 6: Quarterback Keenan Moore connected with wide receiver Quintavious Monday on touchdown passes of 38 and 48 yards for host Jackson-Atlanta. Moore completed 9 of 17 passes and finished with 227 yards through the air while Monday hauled in three catches for 101 yards.

Woodward Academy 25, Fayette County 6: Visiting Woodward Academy led Fayette County 22-0 at halftime. Quarterback Terry Googer of Woodward Academy rushed for 87 yards on 14 carries. In addition, Googer scored one touchdown on the ground and snagged a 41-yard touchdown catch during the second quarter.

Cartersville 36 Darlington 0. QB Brooks Barden was 14 of 25 passing for 187 with 2TD’s. Cville Defense was strong all night! GO CANES!

Next week in Gainesville will be a big test for BOTH Gainesville (the #1 tean in AAAAA) & the Wolves. They will tee it up at the Red Elephants home in Gainesville Park.
