Top performances from Week 1: Alexander back rushes for 321 yards

Mikell Lands-Davis rushed for 970 yards in 10 games last season as a sophomore for Alexander, but holding him below 1,000 could be nearly impossible in 2013. The junior – who is 6 feet 1 inch and 215 pounds – is almost a third of the way there after his performance last week.

“Unique combination of speed and power, but what makes him really special is his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield,” Alexander coach Matthew Combs said. Lands-Davis had more than 1,000 receiving and returning yards last season.

Here are some of the top individual performances from last week:

So Devontae Jackson from Wheeler who gained 217 yds on 3 carries and scored 3 touchdowns was not a top performer in week 1? WTF?

Added. Most of the ones that we post come from information sent to us by coaches and stat people. It’s not ‘all’ the best, but ‘many’ of the best.

Lands-Davis’ feat is impressive, but less so when you realize he was doing it against a school with half the enrollment and 2 classes below Alexander.

They must not have reported on the Wheeler game at all. They had a kid, Brown – that had 16 tackles.

Wrecker, Over the years Bremen has been a tough Region and state playoff team and have beaten some really great larger class schools.

How bout a “shout out” to these kids who do well even if…. or a “shut up” of your trap. You ever run for 321 , enough said,
