Jefferson and Gainesville, both of northeast Georgia, won their first state championships in 2012. What had been the most recent northeast Georgia school to win a state title in football? (Answer Friday)

Answer to Wednesday’s question: The only school other than Tucker with a winning record against Marist head coach Alan Chadwick is Thomas County Central (6-1). No other schools have beaten Marist more than three times in the Chadwick era (1985-present).

If Elbert County is Northeast, then Lincoln County would probably be the most recent title holder in Northeast Georgia.
