Answer to Thursday’s question: In 1979, Athens Academy coach Mike Gunn, a graduate of Marist, and Heritage (Conyers) coach Mike Parris, a graduate of Redan, played in a state championship game against each other as high school players. Redan won 17-14 on a fourth-quarter field goal by Kevin Butler.
