Norcross and South Gwinnett will be playing football games televised by ESPN on Aug. 24.
Their games are part of the fourth annual ESPN High School Football Kickoff series that will include 13 games televised by ESPN Networks over the weekend of Aug. 23-25.
Of the 26 teams involved, 13 of them are reigning state champions, including Georgia Class AAAAAA champ Norcross, which will face Florida Class 4A champion Booker T. Washington of Miami on Aug. 24 at 7 p.m.
South Gwinnett will play Lincoln of Florida at 3:30 p.m. at Norcross.
The Norcross and South Gwinnett games are two of only four that are on ESPN. The others will be on ESPNU, ESPNEWS and ESPN3. This is the first time that Georgia teams have been involved in ESPN’s Kickoff series.
