The Creekview boys team won its first Cherokee County championship Wednesday at Woodmont Golf Course in Canton. The Grizzlies’ program has been in existence for seven years. Creekview senior Jared O’Kelly won the individual title. … The Walton boys won the Cobb County title for the second straight year at City Club Marietta on March 26. The Raiders shot a 307 to edge second-place Lassiter, which carded a 310. Walker took third (314), Mount Paran fourth (323), Hillgrove fifth (327) and Kennesaw Mountain sixth (328). Walker’s Joe Reich won individual honors after winning a 2-hole playoff over teammate Barrett Kulik, Walton’s John Yi and Lassiter’s Adam Wright. The four golfers were tied at the end of 18 holes at 74. … Etowah won the Kell Golf Classic at Eagle Watch Saturday. The Eagles shot a 300, 14 strokes ahead of second-place Harrison. … Duluth outclassed Shiloh Monday at Northwood Country Club by shooting a 190 to the Generals’ 253. Sean Derossett led Duluth with a 41. … George Walton Academy beat Hebron Christian Thursday 167-205 as Thomas Hodges carded a 38. … Clay Triocchio’s 37 helped Norcross past Collins Hill 164-183 at Berkeley Hills Country Club Thursday. … Parkview outdueled Archer 186-198 Thursday at Stone Mountain. The Panthers were led by Charlie Kim, who shot a 44. … In girls action, Walton defeated Woodstock and Lassiter Monday at Towne Lake Golf Club. The Raiders shot a 120 while host Woodstock turned in a 138 and Lassiter had a 145. Walton improved to 5-0 and was led by Abbie Williams’ 37. … Collins Hill outpointed Norcross Thursday at Berkeley Hills as Ellen Min earned low medalist honors with a 48. … Parkview edged Archer 174-175 Thursday at Stone Mountain. Taylor Albritton of Archer, however, shot a 53 to lead all golfers while Parkview’s top individual score was a 57 by Casey Dearman.
