Lacrosse: Boys and girls rankings released

By Score Atlanta

The lacrosse season is off to a hot start and several teams are out of the gates early with impressive victories. Boys Class AAAAAA No. 1 Milton raced out to a 5-0 start while Centennial checks in at No. 2 with a 5-0 start. No. 3 Mill Creek went unbeaten at the recent Peachfest Invitational, knocking off a pair of Tennessee schools at the Buford event. The Mill Creek girls check in a No. 5 in the AAAAAA poll after also securing a pair of wins at the Peachfest Invitational. Three-time defending champion Milton tops the girls AAAAAA poll after a 3-0 start. Centennial is right behind Milton with Roswell, Chattahoochee and Mill Creek rounding out the top five. In girls Class A-AAAAA, newcomer Cambridge leads the first poll thanks to a 5-0 start to the season. Starr’s Mill is No. 2 while three-time defending champion Westminster is No. 4 after a 4-2 start including a nice win over Providence Day in a tournament in North Carolina. Westminster is averaging 19 goals in each of its four victories this season while scoring just eight in its two losses, both over the weekend to North Carolina schools.

This is laughable! How are you arriving at these rankings? If this is somehow tied to LaxPower’s standings then there is no credibility to this “poll”. If it is truly a poll, then who are the voters???

I agree with you crank. Some of these teams do not deserve to be in the top ten. Kell for instance has only played one team so far with a winning record and they got smoked by them.

How in the?

Hillgrove should not be ranked. They are average at best and their schedule is awful.

Finally!

Thank goodness a real lacrosse authority has finally taken a stand and that Kell and GAC are getting some much deserved respect.

At least the AJC is covering HS Lacrosse…I guess.
