Heritage of Conyers hired Mike Parris as its new football coach on Friday, the Rockdale Citizen reported.
Parris was 123-67 in 17 seasons at Jackson. He’s taken two schools to the semifinals – Jackson in 2000 and Forest Park in 1995.
Parris, a Stone Mountain graduate, succeeds Chad Frazier, who took the head coaching job at Villa Rica. Heritage made the playoffs each of the past three seasons under Frazier.

Good hire, but tough place to coach. Parents are ruthless, and not a ton of talent in Rockdale County. The talent that they have is spread out among the three school. There is a reason good coaches leave.

Parris is overrated. Sub-par performance with above average players year after year at JHS. Bit of a loose cannon as well. He won’t make it 5 years at Heritage.
