Those planning to attend the Region 6-AAA basketball tournament at Decatur High School on Thursday should prepare for some delays because of a visit from President Obama.
Obama will visit the College Heights Learning Center in Decatur and the area is expected to locked down by security until at least 4 p.m.
The visit coincides with the first semifinal girls basketball game (Decatur vs. Woodward Academy at 4 p.m.) at Decatur High and could produce a traffic nightmare for those planning to attend.
The President had asked to use the theater facility at Decatur High, but was unable to do so because of the basketball tournament. The administration policy is to avoid disrupting any existing event already on the schedule.

Basketball Fan & Gakat1 no, you both are jokes for being disrespectable. I’m sure your priorities in life are more in tune with the pursuit of athletics over academic.
Furthermore none of your teams will advance to Macon for the state championship.

ron, Obama is going to a county where the school system has been put on probation by SACS. Go figure that out…. I do not think that any disrespect was place on the President, he does a good job looking like a fool by himself.

Metro Ref (I hope you aren’t a basketball referee. We don’t a prejudice referee on the court). Oh contrare. Yes, I would have complained even though I don’t like Osama, I mean Obama. I actually was looking forward to him becoming president in 2008 – what a mistake that was and still is. And Ron, you obviously don’t know much about HS basketball. I don’t have much allegiance to any team (I do like Decatur), but those St. Pius girls can play.

Ron…
Respect is earned. It is never earned by avoiding responsibility, placing blame on others, speaking half-truths or lies, etc.
If anyone felt like his visit was anything other than some lame photo-op, then they probably would not mind him disrupting their schedule.
And, the last time that duck came to town, his motorcade had traffic on the interstates shut down during afternoon rush hour. If he had respect for our citizens, perhaps we would learn to respect him.
I’m not holding my breath.

Why President Obama would chose to visit a state that’s education system is 48 in the country perplexes me. It’s obviously sports are more important than education, as evidenced by idiots blogging against him on this page.
