A high school hockey goalie in Minnesota purposely scored a goal for the other team, made an obscene gesture to his coach and left the ice Tuesday.
The goalie, Austin Krause, is a senior who took issue with the coaching staff over playing time, according to this report in The Farmington (Minn.) Independent.
Krause’s own goal tied the game begween his Farmington team and Chaska 2-2 with 3:13 lft in the third period, the newspaper reported. Chaska won 3-2.
The incident wad videoed and posted on YouTube.
Krause then posted on Facebook that he felt coaches unfairly favored a sophomore goalie.
“They played this sophomore goalie for the starter, he was terrible, I would try and talk to the coaches about this and tell them I want playing time but they never really listen to me,’’ Krause wrote.
Coaches have not yet commented. The school said it would look into the incident.
