So Meadowcreek stuns a Top 10 team in North Gwinnett. I hear it was a shot at the buzzer. Looking to confirm. North Gwinnett is done for the season. Meadowcreek is back in the state tournament after missing the past two seasons.

That is confirmed. Guy who hit the shot, hit it from about 35-feet out. Meadowcreek had 3.2 seconds left after North made a shot to take a 1-pont lead. The same kid also hit a buzzer-beating three at the end of the third quarter as well. North had a 12-point lead and let it slip away. They seemed to be going through the motions and thought it was going to be an easy victory.

North was overrated anyway…They are finding outthings are a little different without Chris Bolden

Not overrated, just very young. No seniors, mostly sophs, 19 – 6 record not shabby for such a young team.

Norcross Blue Devils are in good position to make a run for the state championship again.

Is the photo on the homepage a picture of last years Whitefield Academy state champ team? Oh wait, nevermind, their entire team picked up and went to Norcross….gotta love atlanta high school basketball. Thank you AAU for killing high school sports.

Has there ever been a high school that won both the state title in football and basketball in the same year? If not, Norcross may be the first. Go Devils!

There have been a few schools to win football and boys basketball titles in the same academic year. I’d have to research, but those that come to mind are Mitchell-Baker (around 1992-93), Clinch County (1987-88 or 1991-92) and Southwest Atlanta (1973-74). Can’t remember it happening in the highest class. Maybe Lanier of Macon did it in the ’40s.
