Morrow boys basketball team forfeits two games

Morrow’s boys basketball has forfeited two games, including tonight’s Region 2-AAAAAA contest against Newton.

Morrow coach Creswell Foy said the forfeits were self-imposed and that all of his players are eligible for Friday’s Region 2-AAAAAA game against Rockdale County.

‘’It’s an in-house, undisclosed thing right now,’’ Foy said. “It’s all good. We play Rockdale on Friday, so we’re back on track. If we knock off Rockdale, we’re still sitting where we want to sit.’’

Morrow’s record falls to 16-8 overall, 6-5 in Region 2. Morrow’s other forfeit came against Stockbridge on Saturday in a non-region game.

Region 2 is the most contested in the highest classification. Here’s a look at the final week’s schedule and standings. The first-place team gets a bye in the region tournament and thus an automatic bid into the state tournament.
