Nominations open for AJC annual Slam Dunk contest
It’s time again for one of our more popular high school sporting events of the year — the celebrated AJC Slam Dunk Contest.
Beginning right now, we’re looking for a few good men (or women) for the contest, players from metro Atlanta high school basketball teams who can dunk with the best of them.
We are taking nominations between now and midnight Feb. 3.
Do you know a local high school basketball player who is a prolific dunker? Someone who dunks with such a smooth style that it causes fans from both teams to rise to their feet? That’s the player we want.
Please go to ajc.com, find this post on the high school page, and list the player’s name, high school and your best description of this player’s dunking ability in the comments section. This is very important: Please also post a video link from the player you are nominating.
Here are the rules: The player must be a Georgia high school student on the roster of a metro Atlanta basketball team, and nominations must link to video of a dunk by the nominated player. You have until Feb. 3 to prepare a video from before or after practice or during a game.
