sportsnut-Norcross beat 4 of the Rivals top 100 this year and you are trying to sell the fact that Lovejoy is better? Come on Man!!!

Not my argument anymore. Football is over. Do you want to here it again ? Norcross wins ! Just to amuse you, the top teams must not have been that good right ? After all, you beat them, didn’t you ? I am not trying to sell anything. Everyone knows the truth. This season has been decided. Am I allowed to give congrats to my team without your permission or are you now the new 74, THE DEAN ? This too shall pass.

There is talk on the Rivals board that Norcross should be higher than 6. There is one more ranking to come out from them after this week’s Texas championships. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I see nothing in Sportnut’s comment(s) that remotely implied that Lovejoy was better than Norcross.

Norcross fans, congrats on an outstanding season as you earned and deserve the accocolades that are being bestowed upon the team. With that said, you guys need to “fall back” in terms of being offended when any poster extends kudos/congrats to any team not named Norcross. As aforementioned, there was nothing about Sportsnut’s comment(s) that you guys should have found offensive.

Does anyone know where i can find the rosters for the North vs South All-Star game? I know one of the players that’s in it so I’m sure there is a roster out there

How is Sandy Creek way down in the bottom of the nationally ranked pack? That team went undefeated and no one really came close to beating them. Aside from that they return another great team next year.

Thanks BBD. Some don’t know how to win. I chalk it up to not being accustomed to winning.
@ Blu eagle == We know. NSWR lost too.! So did many others. You had what you and other NSWR fans called the best team in the state overall. Not the best in your class but the best overall. What happened ?

Norcross wins the game and should be congratulated. But you darn sure knew you were on the ropes for 3 quarters of that game. Congrats on being nationally ranked.

Interesting cover photo. Who’s the favorite for 2013?

@ Titletown USA == Someone from region 1, 7 or 8. You know the favorites are always going to be the favorites, regardless of what the other teams bring to the table. Grayson, Colquit, Camden, Lowndes, Lassiter, Mill Creek, North Gwinnett, Brookwood, Parkview, they all could be labeled as the favorite. Mine, or my thought will be North Cobb .They were the best team Lovejoy played.

Sportsnut, I would think the best team Lovejoy played would be Norcross or Colquitt because they beat you, not a team you beat by 63-42

Please guys—– put the wonders of football aside.

No matter what team or classification you supported, there were only 6-public school teams who held their fingers up to claim being number one. For the rest of you souls like me, it’s basketball season, then baseball, then you know——the bragging starts over again. I look forward to another year of thrills and good sportsmanship. Last night I watched my team play in a basketball tournment where 3-players had been on our football team. These boys seem happy to entertain and bring victory to the fans and school. I don’t think any of them were thinking about football. None, except me! lol

See you next year.

Congrats Norcross. You finally joined the club. You proved with out a doubt you were the best team in the state this year. Tough region schedule. Won in Camden. Took out 2 teams from Region 1. You are now officially respected. Enjoy!!!

@ The Truth == That is what you would think. I saw them all. North Cobb was the best of all. We, Lovejoy lost those games. I would say they did not get beat. They Lost. There is a difference although the result is the same. Lovejoy had to score and score to beat NC. No other team was capable of doing this to Lovejoy on the year. Colquit didn’t, neither did Norcross. They scored more points on Lovejoy than anyone else. That is a major point. What they were able to do that no one else could.

@ Gamer == You are my type of guy. From one sport to another. This thing with The Cross was coming all season. If not Cross and I, it would have been 74 and myself or whom ever the winner and loser was. Lovejoy is not in any tournament for the holidays and does not play again until January. I am looking foward to some round ball. My place, I feel, is to reign in the outlaw that is the Cross. He is making mistakes that someone should try to correct him on, as a life lesson. I am a firm believer in “Each one Teach one”. If it is possible for me to open a door of knowledge to anyone, that shall it be. It will come with 100% concern for all. I hope he gets the message and not just him but anyone who reads my words. Boasting is O.K. but when it comes with the degredation of others, it is counter productive.

Sportsnut, I have to disagree with your premise but I do respect your appreciation for Lovejoy.
It is easy to say now, but Norcross was destined to be the state champion. They had arguably the best player in the state and they had a determination that carried them to big wins in the playoffs. Coming back against Camden and Lovejoy in the 4th quarter to win those two big games was a tremendous accomplishment. Combined with their other wins they were clearly the best team in the state this year.

Once again, my point is not to elevate Lovejoy. The conversation was about who was the best team Lovejoy played in my opinion. I saw every Lovejoy game in person and although Lovejoy lost to Colquit and Norcross, I happen to think that North Cobb was Lovejoy’s toughest game. All things considered concerning football, North Cobb was far better and with what they have coming back, they will be a top ten team come next season. No team put up 42 on Lovejoy. Lovejoy had to score it’s highest point total, 63 to win. Wins, losses, from this point of view, doesn’t matter. Execution, desire, ability. Those are the criteria I used for this assesment of North Cobb.

Sportsnut-whether you intended to or not your last post was as self-serving as it gets. Especially under the heading of this blog. A team that turned the ball over 6 times and you hung 63 points on was the best team you faced? You are fairly transparent.

Norcross is the best team in this State and it is not even close!

Merry Christmas!

Your perception or interpretation of my comment is your opinion. I know what I mean. I said what I meant to say. There is no attempt to viel anything or thought. I see things the way I see them. Maybe you should check your dictionary on the words individual., solitary, independant, seperate or even isolated. If this doesn’t help, you need help.

sportsnut-You should rephrase and say you see things the way YOU want to see them. Norcross shut Lovejoy down. We played a mediocre offensive game (partly because of the Lovejoy D). We still prevailed and the old adage that defense wins championships rings true. Norcross deserves all the State and National recognition that it is receiving. We played one of the hardest schedules in the state and ended with a perfect season. North Cobb the best that Lovejoy faced? That’s comical. Like I said, you are as transparent as glass. My guess is that if Lovejoy played North Cobb 10 times Lovejoy would win 8-9 times and if Lovejoy played Norcross 10 times Lovejoy would lose 7-8 times.

With that said, I can’t say that Lovejoy is the best that we faced either. I believe a full strength North Gwinnett and Camden were better all around than Lovejoy. I also believe that if the four of us played in a round robin, Lovejoy comes in fourth.

Enjoy your basketball season and maybe Lovejoy and you can find what it has been searching for. I understand that another runner-up is eating you up inside.
