Score Atlanta

Hillgrove 57, Allatoona 47: Hillgrove outscored host Allatoona 22-14 in the third quarter after leading just 24-21 at the half. Junior guard Kyle Castlin had 17 points for Hillgrove while junior wing Daniel Fowler led Allatoona with 14 points.

McEachern 68, Harrison 63: McEachern took a 17-8 edge after one period and maintained the lead throughout the game. Junior point guard Logan McIntosh and senior wingman Deonta Patterson each scored 17 points. Freddie Brown made 8-of-10 free throws in the fourth quarter and, as a team, the Indians shot 25 times from the charity stripe and made 16 in the final period. A 3-pointer by Patterson with two minute left, however, gave McEachern a 7-point lead and effectively closed out the contest. Junior point guard Jay Bowyer led Harrison with 23, while sophomore guard Brandon Powell had 18.

North Cobb 44, Marietta 39: Visiting Marietta led after a defense-heavy first half 15-10, but North Cobb responded by outscoring the Blue Devils 34-14 in the second, including 19-9 in the fourth quarter. Senior power forward Jordan Neff scored 10 points, had nine rebounds and four blocks while senior guard Saxon Steele scored 12 and senior shooting guard Lee Moore had seven.

Sprayberry 64, Lassiter 40: Junior guard Armel Potter led the visiting Yellow Jackets with 29 points as Sprayberry rolled. The Jackets led 37-25 after three, but a full game of pressure defense wore down their hosts as Sprayberry tallied 28 fourth-quarter points. Senior point guard Khrishna Khatri led Lassiter with 16 points.

Why doesn’t the AJC provide its readers with a piece detailing the various out-of-state tournaments that Georgia teams will be playing in over the holidays? Several Georgia teams are travelling to these hoilday showcases and playing top teams from other states and, in some cases, top teams nationally. I am certain that fans will find these details interesting and informative.

At a minimum, I am sure that the AJC will keep us up-to-date with scores from these games, so that we’ll know how well our Georgia teams are doing against elite competition from all over the country.

Tony, that’s because football exists ! Feel lucky that you get the occassional score fours days after the game was played, much less any real information concerning high school basketball !

Im not accusing them of anything, just a little curious about Greenforest Christian and wanted to get you guys take on it. They have like less than 100 kids in the entire school, and here is their roster listed on gaprep…. 6′6, 6′2, 6′7, 6′3, 6′3, 6′7, 6′9, 6′4, 6′1…..if that is truly their actual heights, then how in the WORLD does one of the smallest schools in ALL of class A get a lineup like that…hmmmmmmm

@Tony, @All Football: I run the @ajcprepsports twitter account and was wondering if there were specific out-of-state tourneys I could help track. Can’t promise game-to-game coverage on all of them, but would be glad to keep an eye out for the ones you’re interested in. I’m at Thanks and happy holidays.

No matter how you word it, You are accusing them. You’re just doing it indirectly. Leave the program and most importantly the kids alone and let them play. That’s my take mr athensbball

How about those golden eagles of eagles landing high school tho. They are ballen and going all the way this year. Have a great coach as well. Clay Crump is doing big things at that program… When a Coach is doing all of the right things, he or she does not have to look for talent because it will find its way their and won’t go unnoticed.. That’s why Coach Crump has so much division 1 talent on his squad. Now y’all haters can hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm about that

first off jayare….the word “haters” retired from the english language in about 1995 along with MC Hammer. second of all, my team was in the state champ game last year with kids that we had since middle school. Greenforest has 85 kids in their school, the University of GA has 50,000 (and can give scholarships) and they dont even have a lineup as big as Greenforest. dont be so nieve. half the kids on their team lived in another country last year.

William Jackson was not in Middle School at Athens last year.. Let’s be honest because he went to middle school with my little brother. He is a great kid but speak what you know not what you think. You can cause problems by saying things that you don’t know the truth. Why try to cause problems when it is not needed. Be professional and be happy for kids who are trying to make something out of themselve (student/athletes) – stay away from the negative and be positive. Life is too short. No further comment bc you know what I’m saying……
