Calhoun can become the 17th team to complete back-to-back perfect seasons. Calhoun would become the ninth to go 15-0 in consecutive years. Here are schools that have gone unbeaten and untied for two consecutive seasons. East Rome in 1978 was the first team to finish 15-0.

Why is West Rome missing from the list? The Chieftains had back to back 15-0 seasons in 1982 and 1983.

You’re correct John and then they went 14-1 in 1984 and won it again, but they did have the 15-0 back to back.

WACO 94 &97 was unbeatable….. I still haven’t seen a high school team that would beat either one of those teams….

@itsonlywrite… No the 1st year Sandy Creek won state in 2009 we lost our first game of the season against East Coweta on a blocked PAT in OT. We went on to win 14 straight and win state. Then 15-0 the next year winning state in 2010.
@Steve Dicks… Rockmart went 3-7 in 98, 1-9 in 99, and 7-3 in 2000. Plus this article isn’t about teams just going undefeated. It’s about teams winning back to back state championships and doing it while going 15-0 both seasons.

Valdosta also did it in 56 & 57 going 13-0 both years. While the article does state 8 teams have finished back to back with 15-0 seasons the headlines says 14 teams finish back to back with perfect seasons.
