@Viking Dad, thanks for acknowledging our region, 16A, is behind the Pack. We urge you to spread the word, Go Pack Go! However, I would be remiss, since you did take a pointless shot at our head coach, to remind you at least we didn’t cheat to beat you. Sign stealing, not the way to go. Also, I have to add, y’all have the most obnoxious stadium announcer in the business. Only bad thing about going to Martin Stadium next year. Now, no more foolish, pointless criticism of our head coach and thanks for your support. Go Pack!

Packer football goes back to 1913 when their rival with Valdosta began!

Packers have had to battle in South Ga football for many years!

Packers have traveled to North Ga for playoff games, been to the Dome multiple times and even had two State Championship Games at home in the HogPen!

Now in the Semi-Finals, 4th year straight!

We don’t always win, but we battle to the end!

Looking forward to Friday Night at the Blue Devil’s House!

Hope for a good clean game!

May the best team win!

Colquitt was the best team to start the season, they sure were at the Jungle last Friday night, and should win the state title. Too bad that the real state title game is this Friday as Colquitt or Norcross would shred either team in the other side of the bracket. Just because the Packers had some close games and wound up a 4 seed doesn’t mean anything. That is why the games are played.

It is a given that Colquitt is very good and they step it up come play off time. I don’t have a dog in the fight anymore, but lets give some Kudos to Love Joy. They have been over looked on this blog all year. They are a very good team that has a chance to play in the dome. PviewPantherFan…… Just because you guys got shredded, don’t under estimate Love Joy that has one of the best running backs in the state and a Norcross team that traveled to Camden and won.

The truth, Colquitt97…. I know you guys beat Love Joy at the beginning of the year. I am not taking anything away from that victory and as you can see my above post, I have been complimentary towards you guys as well. It will be a good football game.

Norcross beats the Packers for the second time this year Friday night. Packer boys aren’t strong enough or fast enough to beat Norcross. Goodbye Rush. Doesn’t matter who wins at Lovejoy either. Norcross will chew them up.
This Norcross team has been years in the making to win the state championship. It’s destiny!!!!!

@tigonian02 – What’s funny is your statement is wrong. 2 members of 1-6A have NOT won championships, at least that I can find anywhere. Did you forget about Brunswick and Coffee? And while Camden has 3, they were won as a part of R3 while playing against R1.

R1 is good enough on their own that you don’t have to stretch things.

@Huckelberr:”Not fast enough”? “Not strong enough”? Funny, I remember folks saying the same thing right before the PackERS played Camden. Actually, I remember folks saying the same thing about the Packers before they played Parkview. Try not to be too disappointed when we walk out of the stadium looking forward to our trip to the Dome AGAIN.

December 4th, 2012

Colquitt can’t handle Norcross, not being negative, I saw Parkview handle Colquitt and Norcross is on another planet. Remember Parkview played Norcross and Kamara was injured. Colquitt should be commended for their ability to make the final four that is axtremely hard to do. But the big trophy will not come this year.

Parkview “handled” Colquitt to the tune of 31-15 and a quick trip home. It wasn’t even that close.

December 4th, 2012
4:15 pm

Ray: I didn’t see the Parkview Colquitt game but wasn’t either 7-0 or 7-7 to start the 2nd half. And wasn’t there some turnovers deep in parkviews territory that led to quick points for Colquitt?

December 4th, 2012
5:27 pm

So sad to see the Parkview fans who were yelling “trailer trash” at the Colquitt team end up leaving early after that “handling”. I know how good Norcross is…God knows we hear it enough here.

December 4th, 2012
8:11 pm

The score was 7-0 at the half. We intercepted with just a few seconds left in the 2nd quarter. Yes, there were turnovers that helped us. I think it was 2 during the 3rd quarter.

I am a longtime Packer fan and I honestly have nothing against Norcross. But, after watching their games with Parkview, Chattahoochee & South Gwinnett, I don’t see them hanging with the Packers.

I’ll be the first to admitt that I missed it on my prediction of the Camden/Norcross game.
I sure wish I could watch that Game. If anyone knows a website, please let me know.
I assume that Norcross looked like a totally different team than I have seen.

I know high school kids can be sporadic in their performance but If the Pack plays like they are capable, and minimizes turnovers, then I predict Pack wins Friday night by 21.

Hope both teams play their best & honestly, “may the best team win”!

MOULTRIE — Back on September 7, Colquitt County held Lovejoy to just a single, fourth-quarter touchdown in a 14-7 victory over a team that has one of the top offenses in the state.

The Packers will face a similar task on Friday when they travel to Norcross to meet an undefeated Blue Devils team that might have more weapons than Lovejoy.

Expecting the Packers defense to allow just seven points might be unrealistic.

With an accurate and veteran quarterback in Joseph Wilber, an All-State and highly coveted running back in Alvin Kamara and a big, productive junior receiver in Myles Autry, the Blue Devils are likely to put some points on the board.

They did it when they visited Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium last August in the scrimmage they won 33-31.

The Packers might find themselves involved in a track meet, but they have an experience arsenal of their own.

Quarterback Cole Segraves has proved he thrives in the the postseason and is 6-1 in playoff starts.

He has completed 163-of-273 passes for 2,098 yards and 10 touchdowns this season and has made some highlight-reel throws the last several weeks.

And Packers coach Rush Propst and offensive coordinator Jeff Hammond have been adding to the playbook as the season has gone on.

And as the season has progressed, more players have played crucial roles.

Bobby Hill continues to be the Packers primary target. He leads the team with 73 catches for 1051 yards and six touchdowns.

He caught just three passes in the victory at Parkview last Friday, but two were worth several looks.

Hill willed himself into the end zone on a 35-yard touchdown pass that gave the Packers their first lead in the third quarter.

He had another in the fourth quarter that resulted in a first down that brought the Packer fans out of their seats.

And Hill may find more maneuvering room in the secondary and Todd Boyd continues to develop.

With 40 catches for 771 yards, he has become nearly as dependable as Hill.

The Packers are beginning to show that they can run with some effectiveness, whether with Segraves toting or giving to Sihiem King, John Boatwright or Maleek Lewis.

And the opposition should not forget about versatile sophomore Javonta Woods. Or Kishaun Taylor and Deonte Johnson, who are capable to turning in plays. As is tight end Nate Madison, when he is called upon.

The Packers offensive line will again be called upon to protect Segraves and provide some space for King, Boatwright and Lewis.

Junior right tackle Gabe Mobley is coming off his best game of the season.

The other four — tackle Octavius Jackson, guards Travis Register and Jeffery Davis and center Dalton Dillon — are seniors who have logged plenty of snaps over the last 27 games.

The Blue Devils did not see the broad spectrum of the Packers offense in August, when Segraves completed 7-of-9 passes for 66 yards and a touchdown pass to Hill.

Lewis rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

Guys let’s remember the Pack plays well as an underdog team. Let all the predictions say that Norcross will win and then the Pack can go in and do what the Pack does best!! Gooooo Pack! Rock On! The word around Moultrie is “All we want for Christmas is a state championship!!”

Packers have not played a COMPLETE game all year!

If they DO-IT Friday night and minimize turnovers,

They win by at-least 21!

After listening to the Colquitt Packer fans this week, we are highly confused as I know much of the posters on this site are as well. Therefore, we wanted to find a way to “profile” them so we could all recognize them. So the following is a pretty good way to determine who the Packer fans are.
You are most likely a Colquitt Packer fan if:

1. You think “loading the dishwasher” means getting your wife drunk.
2. You ever cut your grass and found a car.
3. The Salvation Army declines your mattress.
4. You’ve ever raked leaves in your kitchen.
5. Your wife’s job requires her to wear an orange vest.
6. Your lifetime dream is to own a fireworks stand.
7. You have the Moultrie taxidermist’s number on speed dial.
8. You’ve ever hit a deer with your car…deliberately.
9. You’ve ever given rat traps as stocking stuffers.
10. Your grandma has “ammo” on her Christmas list.
11. The taillight covers of your car are made of red tape.
12. You prefer car keys to Q-tips.
13. Your wife’s hairdo has ever been ruined by a ceiling fan.
14. You consider a six-pack and a bug-zapper high-quality entertainment.
15. One of your brother-in-law is also your uncle.
16. You had to remove a toothpick for wedding pictures.
17. You consider a family reunion a good place to find Mrs. Right.
18. Your dog and your wallet are both on chains.
19. Your dog can’t watch you eat without gagging.
20. The fifth grade is referred to as “your senior year,”

Thank you for your time.

Those who do not understand Colquitt football, it the “Life of the Community”….. Those players are honored, looked after and treated likes “kings” all year long, unlike any other community I know. That’s why that program is where it is today. I agree I too do not care for the coach…. kinda reminds me of Nick S. (Alabama)…., has an air about him that rubs me the wrong way, but he gets results and that’s all that really matters (correct?)

December 5th, 2012
1:41 pm

Actually, gman57, I have always looked at Propst as a “Steve Spurrier”. He always gets under the under SEC coaches skin, and no matter what he says or does it’s the wrong thing. BUT, he does get results at USC, and that’s why they like him there. Don’t forget his days at FL either. I’m still thinking the other coaches in Reg. 1-6A intentionally(but not necessarily as a group) only voted 4 Packers on the Region’s first team offense and defense, while putting 8 on there from Camden. It’s so obvious when you look at the stats for the WR from Coffee Co(who is a JR) and made first team offense, then compare it to the stats of Bobby Hill(headed to Miss. St.) WR for the Packers. Not even close. There has to be a “revenge” factor at work there. They may think they got even with him but knowing Propst he will use it as an “inspiration” thing, and motivational tool to bring home a state title. He just may get the last laugh. BTW, I don’t have a “dog” in the fight. Outside observer.
