By Score Atlanta
Gainesville 64, Harris County 13: DeShaun Watson went wild yet again, throwing for five touchdowns and adding two more on the ground as Gainesville hammered host Harris County. Watson had 421 yards and six total touchdowns by halftime, at which point the Red Elephants led 43-7. Caleb Hayman hauled in three of Watson’s scoring strikes, while Tray Harrison and Michael Byrd caught the other two. Chris Byrd and Jay Gaudelock added touchdown runs in the fourth quarter for the exclamation points.
Northside-Warner Robins 23, Tucker 20: Northside-Warner Robins treated its home crowd to a dramatic, come-from-behind victory over Tucker. The Eagles trailed 13-3 going into the fourth quarter before Curtis Martin scored both of his rushing touchdowns, including one from 56 yards out. Martin finished with 149 yards on 13 carries. Tucker still led 20-16 thanks to Juwaan Williams’ third rushing score of the game, but Glenn Smith hit Keshun Hill from 10 yards out for the game-winning score with 24 seconds left.
Ware County 14, Stephenson 0: Ware County defeated visiting Stephenson in a defensive battle, holding the Jaguars to just 63 total yards. Ware County gained 198 total yards, 101 rushing and 97 passing, but a 25-yard touchdown run from quarterback Jamar Johnson in the first quarter and a 3-yard scoring run from Xavier Tobler in the third proved to be enough. Ware County’s Tremon Porter had two interceptions.
Whitewater 24, Allatoona 3: Whitewater held visiting Allatoona scoreless for over three quarters to get the win. Running back Kendall Conley punched in two touchdowns on short runs in the first and fourth quarter on the way to rushing for 70 total yards. Defensive end Matt Ogle intercepted an Allatoona pass in the second quarter to set up Whitewater’s other touchdown, a 20-yard run by quarterback Jay Ashley. Whitewater also scored on a 37-yard field goal by Sam Leathers.

@Eaglenationrising: We are “BETTER THAN” Tucker? I know that don’t even feel right coming from your lips. Especially, when you stayed quiet for at least the first three quarters.
Anyway, Northside played a great game in the fourth quarter this year. Well, think about this “the entire defense and most of the offense for Tucker were Juniors and Sophomores. I think you should be a little worried for next season.
Good Luck the rest of the way!

Congrats too Northside and Tucker last nite for a hard fought game. I was at the game last nite and I must defend some of the comments about the refs the Tucker fans keep saying they were cheated by warner robins refs, the refs were from albany not warner robins, and from what I seen last nite just like 07, 2011, the team with less mistakes wins . You can
bring back as many starters as you would like but when you fumble the ball 5 times against a good team you will always lose. Good luck next year. we enjoy playing you guys.

Congratulations NSWR.
Turnovers killed us last night.
Impressed with NSWR defensive front seven. Good receiver in #3. Good running back #6.
Our defensive unit played awesome. Gave up some yards but made big plays all night.
Got to tip your cap when the other team makes the BIGGEST PLAY to come from behind with less than a half minute on the clock to win the game. We had a defender in front and behind the receiver on the TOUCHDOWN play. Great throw and catch by NSWR.
Heartbreaker for our Tigers, but then NSWR knows how that feels from last year. Good luck the rest of the way and since our other Reg 6 team did not advance we’ll be pulling for you because in order to beat a CHAMPION YOU MUST BE A CHAMPION!!
Surely NSWR knows WE ARE TUCKER!!!!!

Tiger4Life, Tucker Dad, BcS2010,and JAB were carrying 55 gallons drums of crow back to their busses last night. They were trying to get other Tucker Fans to share in eating their home prepared meal. They were arguing among themselves concernng who should eat the most. These flag bearers of mis-guided Tucker Fans were so stunned.
They are not going to be let off so lightly because they said a lot of bad things about NSWR over the months.
In fact JAB said: I can’t wait until 10 PM Friday night when all NSWR bloggers get off here to eat crow. Guess whose basketball season started at 10:01 PM last night.
That old tired comment by Tiger4life: ” We got this here, our works not done (Yes it is), We are Tucker, Run with us or run from us” Change that to read:
“You have better run with us because we are running from Northside”
Tucker Dad: We will show Northside that they are delusional when it comes to playing with the big boys of SEC. In 5Reg.6 they would win maybe 7 games and maybe seeded fourth. Not a single Reg. 6 team is left. So much for your anticipated back to back championships. You got some help from JAG: Stephenson’s mis-guided child with his ” eat, eat, eat, eat, eat, crow”. Ware Cty showed them!
5AReg6Fan was you the most decent blogger: He just said ” This year’s Tucker Team is battle tested”.
BcS2010: You associated Tucker’s backfield this way: It consisted of Vick, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton and Jerome Bettis. Well what happened? Just shows you—–too many stars will cost you. QB JuaanWilliams is the real deal. He was the only player we were concerned with and he scored allTucker touchdowns. Minor, Rivers, Sanders—nothing.
Overall, it was a very hard fought game. I do know the stomach pain I experienced last year with the miracle fumble—-that is now passed to Tucker diehearts. This is going to hurt for a long time. Trust me!
Remember, basketball practice starts at ten this morning. lol

Gainesville can score on anybody. The question each week is whether their defense can stop anybody. This week it did. Watson threw for 427 and ran for 145. He might be the best dual threat qb in the state. Sorry, he is the best dual threat QB in the state. Gainesville had 715 yards of total offense. Can’t wait for the Whitewater game next week.

I agree. It hurts! But, not for long because we prepare our children that in life if you prepare and work as we do at Tucker you’re going to WIN far more than you don’t. And, as long as you COMPETE like our Tucker Tigers do on every down THEN our boys will move on to be successful in the game of life which is much more important to us than the disappointment we feel this morning for that football game last night.
Again, congratulations! Best of luck!

Isn’t high school football great ! It’s just a shame that some Metro schools don’t have their own stadium to call home in the truest sense. Games at the MAC, Fitz., Cairo, Bainbridge, etc really pulls communities together. I commend 6A teams for their success. They are more deserving and are missing out on some really good times at “home”.

Awesome Game from both teams and I Must admit Tucker really played a awesome game I have to give them credit that QB from Tucker is awesome him and my son played in the All Star Game last year so there friends and he is going to be a great College Player. Tucker defense was as real as they come and they held us in check most of the night but like in any good hard fought game it comes down to turnovers and big plays. I respect Tucker program cause I live in Atlanta and my son plays at Northside so I told him they were going to be the toughest team he has seen this year because Region 6 teams ball hard. But we got it rolling in the 4th and it came down to a fouth down play from the 11 yard line all or nothing with two ppl on him MY HERO made a play… I’m PROUD

What a game! But the truth of the matter is that Tucker did outplay Northside in the trenches. It was everything else what did them in. Turnovers, no passing, giving up big plays, and for some reason no pass rush on the touchdown. Maybe Tucker was just returning the favor. Northside gave them the win last year and they gave Northside the win this year. Funny how things work out. Whatever the case may be one thing is certain, Northside and Tucker rule AAAAA.

i was at the game last night…and was very impressive with both teams…this was the first time that northside had been behind all year long and they were behind a GOOD…WELL COACHED TEAM…tucker played a solid game even though they had a few turnovers..their defense stood up…this was the first game that northside played besides playing their arch rivals warner robins..that had just as many athletes on the field. i graduated from cedar grove that is located on the outskirts of atl..and i enjoyed seeing a team from my birthplace representing DEKALB COUNTY the way they did…i live in the warner robins area now and i love watching northside, warner robins, and perry…GOOD GAME EAGLES!!!

I have always admired Tucker for their toughness and speed. I became aware of their program when I saw them play Westside and Marist.
The football program say they only have 23/24 seniors on the team. That says they will have plenty of quality players coming back. A player like Juaan Williams comes along every 10-12 years; so he will be hard to replace. Yusef Minor will be gone. I know Dallas Rivers is a Junior and I believe Sander is in that category. I hope NSWR will be as fortunate. Our only starter in the backfield that returns is the QB, Glen Smith.
Hey, i must stop here,–got to prepare for a Team that wants to kick our B—- because we beat them on their home field in winning the 2007 AAAA (now AAAAA) championship.

Gainesville qb looks awesome and quite frankly hard to manage, BUT that Whitewater defense will put pressure on him from the go and the linebackers and ends will shut it down like they did last night. Would be interested to know what Allatoona’s yardage was last night….
The best offense will be ball and clock control against the GHS offense. Kendall, Christian, and Jay should be up for the task… ONE MORE GAME, BOYS…then we are ALL going to the big house!!!

Dont really know much about whiteh2o. They may have the best defense we have seen, but i bet we have the best qb they have seen. I do agree that ball control is going to be important to keeping watson off the field. That is one of the reasons our defense gets tired bc our offense scores so quickly the d has to go back out before they can catch a breather. @FayetteCoach Gainesville is pretty hungry this year after losing in the State Final Four a year ago with basically the same exact team! I saw Whitewater online last night as they man handled Allatoona on both sides of the ball, but Gainesville is not going be slowed down too much on Offense. If it comes to putting points on the board, Whitewater will not be able to compete with a Offense of Gainesville capability and Whitewaters Offense can not score at will like the Red Elephants! But it shall be a very good game, but im picking Gainesville by 2 TDs with ease!!!

I agree GHS has a phenom at qb, but all of your games have been blowouts or close losses… IF you do not have the ball, you can not score. Whitewater will grind out the GHS chances with solid ball control. I can assure you one thing, possessions will be a very valued commodity on Friday.

@Sir Nupe A Lot , manhandled, I dont think so, Toona made too many mistakes and turnovers. Coach did what he has all year in substituting tb’s which makes us vunerable. He tried it against MLK but their talent made him go back to what works “10″. So if you know football, we where moving the ball well before the mishaps. Whitewater has a well coached team. 7 is better than 25, 25 don’t like to get hit, always looking for the cutback. Unfortunately we have a kid that’s even worst and the staff fooled themselves on feeding him against lessor talented teams for big games and where wishing he would pop one(haven’t did that since the 345 yd game vs poor tackling team). Whitewater stuck with their guy as we did against MLK and that made the difference. Sounds like you’re that guy that said no one in 5A could beat MLK. changed your name so you can blog again. fess up Nupe

From my understanding the QB fr Stepehenson got hurt late in the second 2nd quarter and had a chance to score on a block punt on Wares 9 or 10 yard line. The backup came in and threw an interception which the halftime would have been 7-7 instead of 7-0. Defense was very strong all nite on both sides of the ball. I look for Stephenson to be back next year going a little further. Their team was made up of soph & jr’s. Anyway great season & look forward towards the est of the state playoffs.

Northside runs a completely different offense then they did in 2007. They run one of the best spread offenses in the state. Teams get pretty caught up thinking we will run every down. Then get burned by the pass. I think Northsides going to do alot of quick passes and slants and run it up the middle and have pretty consistent drives. Ware’s offense is a one man show and will be dominated by the best defensive line in the state of Georgia!

This will be my second trip to the swamp. I remember as our busses creeped through the narrow congested streets you could almost touch people sitting on their porches. It was obvious the stadium was a former baseball one of long past. Eagles were flying all around with little baby gators in their mouths. After NSWR’s win———The Eagles brought some of the little gators back to WR. They have been genetically changed to produce blue gators and raised to attack anything green.lol We are bringing them back so you gators have better be careful of any blue gator.
