Tucker-Northside games have had unexpected twists
Here are some of the stories to watch this weekend in the Class AAAAA quarterfinals:
*Don’t leave early: Tucker and Northside will be meeting in the playoffs for the third time in six seasons, and neither of the previous games ended up the way they appeared to be headed. Last year, Northside led 16-10 with less than five minutes to play and was driving for the potential game-clinching score, but Tucker returned a fumble 100 yards to win 17-16. In 2007, Tucker led 28-7 at halftime, but injured quarterback Marques Ivory came off the bench in the second half to rally the Eagles to a 31-28 victory. Tucker and Northside have won two state championships each since 2006.
*Clearing the hurdles: Stephenson has smashed through some big obstacles this postseason, winning a first-round game for the first time since 2009, a second-round game for the first time since 2006 and a road playoff game for the first time ever. To reach the semifinals for the first time since 2005, they have to win on the road against a Ware County team that has won 11 consecutive games since a 21-14 loss to AAAAAA Coffee in its opener. Ware is in the quarterfinals for the third straight season.
*Hot team vs. hot QB: Harris County enters its quarterfinal matchup with Gainesville on a school-record eight game winning streak after starting the season 0-4. The eight victories this season are the most in the program’s history. To keep that streak going, however, they’ll have to deal with Gainesville junior quarterback Deshaun Watson, the leading candidate for Class AAAAA player of the year. Watson has passed for 3,053 yards, rushed for 1,117 yards and had a hand in 60 touchdowns.
*The new guys: Allatoona and Whitewater, who meet on Friday in Fayetteville, have had similar success in their short histories, but one will make it to the semifinals for the first time. Allatoona, a fifth-year program from Cobb County, has won 73.1 percent of its games and is playing in the quarterfinals for the second consecutive season. Whitewater, a ninth-year program from Fayette County, has won 72.9 percent of its games but is playing in its first quarterfinal.

@eaglesnation, we will be there just like last year at about 4:30 or 5pm. You know how we do it so setup on your side of the parking lot and get ready to bring it. Last year ya’ll brought police escorts, tractor trailors, abulances, clown cars and the whole nine in the parade. What will be your entrance this year?
I will say this, y’all do know how to make an entrance, but we know how to make an EXIT.

Hey Tiger4Life – I know the Quarter Back Club will have tailgate setups … check the HS website for more. Also, a few of us from TFL/Tucker Lions will be in there with the doors open and the music playing as well, we should be there around 5:30. Look for the green jackets with TUCKER on the back.

Tucker fans: show up as you always do be loud and proud and show the class that you and the Tucker Family has. Can’t make it down this year but pulling for the Tigers all the way. Hope both teams play well, hard and none of these young men have any serious injuries.
NSWR- Saw a lot of good things form your fans last year (support for your team but good atmosphere for all). Hope it continues this year.
BTW, Tigers roll just like the dirty birds did last night. Fast, strong, well coached and with a 10 point win.

@BullEagle15 – Something you are failing to remember or just can’t come to grips with. Your Eagles are not playing a JV team out of that WEAK Macon area. We are REGION 6. Every Friday Night is a playoff game for us. Tucker is BATTLED tested, since the open of this season, can you say the same about your Eagles? Nothing NSWR has done in 2012 makes Tucker concerned that they want leave middle GA with the “W”. Again, NSWR will need to bring their “A” game as well as Tucker. The Tigers are on a mission to close the gates and concession stands, for the MAC 2012 football season.
Stephenson handles their business and Tucker handle theirs, the lights will be turn on at James Hallford stadium for another Friday Night SHOWDOWN between the BIG CATS of 5A region 6 … DeKalb AD get ready to flip the switch, we coming home…

I know no one wants to hear from an East or North Paulding fan today, however I just want to wish all the teams well tonight, safe travels and may all teams play up to their ability wi or lose.
Side Note: I got to attend the North Paulding banquet and ill just saw WOW. the power of a single playoff upset win (sorry FB) m is pretty amazing. That program is absolutely jacked, and already back in the weight room working on getting stronger.

How are we not battled tested? We have mercy ruled two number 1 seeds and three number 2 teams. Just because we are beating teams by 30 plus points doesn’t mean we are playing bad football teams. We are beat Warner Robins,Peach Co, TCC All these teams have more Champions than every dekalb co school. We played in region 1 5A and dominated. That was the best Region in GA PERIOD! Okay Tucker has been battle tested you say? BUT THEY LOST BOTH OF THOSE GAMES! I would understand if your team won but they lost so they FAILED there so called battle test. Ajc has us winning by 12, Cal prep has us winning 31-14. Tucker we are the best team you have faced all year and we will be the best team you will ever face for awhile. TONIGHT YOU’RE SEASON ENDS. POINT. BLANK! PERIOD!!!!!!!! You can watch us win the state championship on December 14.

TuckerDAD has left the building!!!! I am on my way to NSWR and bringing some rowdy friends with me. It is about to be World War III. Try to play 4 quarters of football this time so that you don’t have to make excuses for another year.
@RealisticFan, Your N. Paulding team played very well and I was surprised at how aggresive and well coached they were. You are right that they will be a force in the future and E. Paulding should be ware because it looks like they will be challenged over the next few years. Thanks for the shoutout!

@BullEagle15 – My Man, can we PLEASE stay in the current, 2012. I agree in some cases it’s good to look at history, but the matchup on this day November 30th is between the kids on Tucker & NSWR who will play for the right to move on for the 2012 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. The scheduled that your Eagles played in 2012 is plain simple, WEAK. The ONLY #1 that NSWR played was FB out of region 8 this year and ALL are gone, except Gainesville and to be honest with you, the #2 Red Elephants are the best team coming out of that region, in 2012. Yes, round 2 the Eagles beat down a ONE man show in TCC … Congrates on that victory. Tucker is NOT a one horse show, offensively and defensively … key on one and get burn by others. I give much props to NSWR history in shutting down the so called BEST IN GA, 6A region 1, but that wasn’t in 2012, dude. Yes, Tucker lost two games during the regular season, to #1 MLK & #2 Stephenson, but you wouldn’t understand, region 6 has MANY teams that are VERY completive and one thing is certain, those stats you throw round, if NSWR was playing in region 6, let’s just say, they wouldn’t be that over the TOP and the Eagles would be fighting for a playoff berth. Let me say it again, NSWR hasn’t played anyone in 2012 and they get the opportunity tonight. Has Tucker been battled tested? The simple answer is YES and tonight the Eagles get to see FIRST HAND, what playing 6 to 7 regular season BATTLES can do for a team’s preparation toward the goal … 5A STATE CHAMPS … ask #1 E Paulding and #2 Creekview. Lastly, if you are betting on an Eagles victory based on predictions, they have been wrong and will be wrong in this matchup.
Can someone please call the DeKalb AD and tell them to turn on the lights at Hallford … Tigers and Jaguars are coming home!!!

Will be leaving the ATL on my way to the famous MAC in a couple of hours … “Home of CHAMPIONSHIPS” … wouldn’t miss this epic for nothing. My daughter has a basketball game tonight and I’m going to miss it for this barnburner. Well I’m going to have to come out of my wallet … big time. (LOL)

@5AReg6Fan Do you know anything about TCC? They run the Veer which means the defense can’t just focus on one guy. They will get burned by either the Fullback or Tailback. We kept it contained pretty well last week and I expect the same against Tucker and there Wing-T. And We played Westside they were a #1 seed school. We can’t help they help that we are just better than all the teams we play.We really should be playing in 6A. I hate being in the same classifaction with all the Dekalb county schools.It was alright with Tucker and SWD now.MLK and Stephenson are boosting yall head up to much.Yall are just like annoying little step children.

@BullEagle15 – Yes I’m VERY familiar with the veer, Marist runs it to perfection, and how it must be defended, if you want to be successful. Again, congrates to NSWR defending it last week, successfully. The veer and the wing-t have similarities, must have a good option and running QB, but Tucker’s wing-t is ran with precision and with the wing-t you don’t know who has the rock. Well I guess your Eagles will have to be pestered each year, by the little step children known as REGION 6, because the current players will be here for a LOOONG time and NSWR will have to dealt with one of them when the quarter finals come. Oh, NSWR can always petition the GHSA to play up, but honestly I hope it doesn’t happen … I LOVE our fans passion and playoff rivalry. (LOL) And beside, who else below the Atlanta metro will compete yearly in this classification?

Man, it’s hard to swallow this one. Just a great game to be a part of, just sucks to be on the losing end. To well coached teams fighting until the final horn sounds.
That was my second time at the MAC and enjoyed the atmosphere both times. Good luck the rest of the way. See you guys next season.

I was a well played game but someone has to win and someone has to lose. This was a great game. Tucker’s coach stepped his game up a lot but he still plays too few players. He has some studs on that team who are standing on the sideline. #3 is a stud, The Aminu kid is a stud, The Hunter kid is a stud, #40 finally played but they are just getting him in the mix, The Scales is a stud, etc, BUT this is my opinion and my opinion doesnt matter. Good season though. Congrats Lamar but get control of your team and take over., Play your players, man. My son quit the team after game five because he said Lamar doesnt play the best players and I cant say I disagree.
