When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, McConnell-Talbert Stadium, Warner Robins
Records, rankings: Tucker is 10-2, the No. 3 seed from Region 6-AAAAA and ranked No. 5; Northside is 12-0, the No. 1 seed from 2-AAAAA and ranked No. 1.
Last meeting: Tucker won 17-16 in the 2011 Class AAAA semifinals.
Three things to know: 1. Keshun Hill (111) and Glenn Smith (110) each had more than 100 yards rushing in a 45-17 victory over Thomas County Central in the second round. Hill is Northside’s leading rusher. He has 1,132 yards and 17 touchdowns on 91 carries (12.4 ypc) and also has 22 catches for 323 yards and seven touchdowns. 2. Tucker had more than 500 yards rushing in a 40-21 victory over North Paulding in the second round. QB Juwaan Williams scored three touchdowns and rushed for 140 yards. Dallas Rivers scored on a 90-yard run and went over 1,000 yards rushing on the season. 3. In their semifinal game last year, Northside led 16-10 and had the ball on the Tucker 2-yard line with about 5 minutes left. Tucker forced a fumble and returned it from one end zone to the other for a touchdown in the 17-16 win. Tucker and Northside also played in the 2007 semifinals. Northside won 31-28 after Tucker failed to hold a 28-7 halftime lead. The winner of those games went on to win state titles.

Stephenson at Ware County
When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Memorial Stadium, Waycross
Records, rankings: Stephenson is 9-2, the No. 2 seed from Region 6-AAAAA and ranked No. 9; Ware County is 11-1, the No. 1 seed from 3-AAAAA and ranked No. 6.
Last meeting: Stephenson won 34-13 in the 2009 regular season.
Three things to know: 1. Ware County TB/LB Xavier Tobler is a two-way starter with 1,488 yards rushing and 24 touchdowns on offense and 95 tackles on defense. Ware’s other all-state candidate is also is a two-way starter. DL/TE Jimal McBride has 118 tackles, 22 for losses, and has 108 knockdown blocks on offense. 2. Stephenson DL Khari Waithe Alexander, who is committed to Southern Miss, has 15 tackles for losses and is one of three Stephenson defensive linemen with more than 20 tackles for losses. The others are Ryan George and Jonathan Wynn. In the 35-6 victory over East Paulding in the second round, Stephenson held East to 150 yards in total offense – 244 below East’s average. 3. Stephenson’s victory over East Paulding was the school’s first playoff win on the road. Stephenson now must break a slump in the quarterfinals, where the Jaguars are 1-4 all-time, last winning in 2005. Ware County is 3-3 in the quarters, winning in 1976, 2004 and 2007.

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Tiger Stadium, Hamilton
Records, rankings: Gainesville is 9-3, the No. 2 seed from Region 8-AAAAA and unranked; Harris County is 8-4, the No. 1 seed from 1-AAAAA and unranked.
Last meeting: This is the teams’ first meeting.
Three things to know: 1. Harris County started the season 0-4, then struggled to beat Douglas County (which finished 2-8) in four overtimes to start an eight-game winning streak. In the 31-21 victory over Warner Robins last week, Harris County led 31-7, and Esaias Chapman rushed for 199 yards and three touchdowns. He has rushed for 2,033 yards and scored 19 touchdowns. He has never been held to fewer than 97 yards rushing in a game. 2. Gainesville QB Deshaun Watson, a junior who has committed to Clemson, either passed or ran 61 times in Gainesville’s 61-42 victory over Kell in the second round. He finished with 222 yards passing and 159 rushing. For the season, Watson has thrown for 3,035 yards and 40 touchdowns and rushed for 1,102 yards and 19 touchdowns. 3. Neither school has won a state championship in football, but their football histories couldn’t be more different otherwise. Harris County, which opened in 1956, was 0-6 in the postseason until this year. This will be the Tigers’ third home playoff game this year. Those are the only home playoff games in school history. Gainesville has played 107 postseason games since 1948. The Red Elephants are trying to reach the semifinals for the 19th time.

Allatoona at Whitewater
When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Wildcat Stadium, Fayetteville
Records, rankings: Allatoona is 11-1, the No. 2 seed from Region 5-AAAAA and ranked No. 10; Whitewater is 11-1, the No. 1 seed from 4-AAAAA and unranked.
Last meeting: This is the teams’ first meeting.
Three things to know: 1. Allatoona drove 73 yards in the final four minutes for the winning touchdown in a 20-19 victory over M.L. King in the second round. Allatoona RB T.J. Herron rushed for 116 yards in the win. Allatoona has two running backs with more than 1,000 yards rushing in Herron (1,250) and sophomore Joshua Bettistea. 2. Whitewater RB Kendall Conley rushed for 290 yards and scored five touchdowns in a 34-27 victory over Glynn Academy in the second round. Whitewater trailed by one point until Conley’s 12-yard TD run with 22 seconds left. For the season, Conley has rushed for 1,906 yards on 205 carries and scored 34 touchdowns. 3. Whitewater opened in 2004 and broke through to the quarterfinals this season after second-round losses in 2007 and 2010. The school is 70-26 under coach Amos McCreary, who started the program. Allatoona opened in 2008 and reached the AAA quarterfinals last season, losing to eventual champion Burke County 32-28.

Ware wins this one easy. I think we have more team speed and a little, better athletes. We are definitely better coached and way more disciplined. Being at home will give us the edge. Also when you won down here a few years ago, remember you were a class up. We gave you all you wanted then, we just couldn`t hang on at the end. I don`t think this one will be close. Our defense is much stronger then any D you have faced period. South Ga football a little different than want you little city folks are use to. In the Swamp we make you Gator Bait. Yall can talk all that smack, (JAB) but your team is not that good. We can also run and pass, which you seem to have problems with. Time for basketball. Are you ready NSWR for the coin flip. I hope you have to come here. I think you get home cooking at your house, anyway the stands will be rocking. Let`s finish off all that talk about how our Region is the best crap they been shooting off their mouth about all year long. Tucker and Stephenson will play each other next week, (in basketball). See ya fri. be careful the troopers down here don`t care for you city slickers to mush, they might take you in the woods and make you squeallllllllll like a pig.

Here we go again with the Tucker vs Northside battle. The Tucker Tigers have improved immensely from what I saw earlier this season with the penalties and mental mistakes that contributed to the two losses. If we go out there and play like we did last Friday night we will come home with a win. I sat down and watched two of the Northside Warner Robins games and wasn’t that impressed with the overall talent of the team compared to Tucker. However, the offensive line for Northside is big and very talented that will go up against Tuckers big and talented D-Line. The team that controls the ball and has the least amount of turnovers will win this game.

Wow Gater Bait! Stephenson is a very humble TEAM. The only people talking is the people on these blogs. The Stephenson Jaguars players don’t do the talking, so be careful what you say. These youngmen play their hearts out just like your players. May the best team win is what it’s all about. This is a blog where people support their favorite team and the Stephenson Jaguars happens to be mine and I want what’s best for them, because they deserve it. Thanks AJC for saying tucker forced the fumble!!lol but I got my tigers winning this game. From what I’ve seen from Nswr there good but not that good. I think the level of competition they have been playing makes them look better. There scores come off the most simplest plays there jus bigger and faster than the teams they have played. TCC played Nswr good in the 1st half and there not as good as the normally are. I’m being honest Tucker’s secondary will have to step up. The best passing teams we have played we didn’t really do that bad( MLK,Miller grove,Mays,north Paulding) Nswr will be shocked to face a rushing team like tucker and will be down early and will have to come together for the 1st this season. Tucker wins by 7 maybe 13.. The 1st blow tucker lands will be too much for Nswr to over come.

Went to the Tucker vs NSWR game last year. Tucker had two big plays erased. One touchdown pass that was called back for a holding penalty nobody saw. Also, a touchdown pass was dropped by a wide open receiver running down the middle of the field.
@graphite – Best advice on the blog. Police will be looking for Dekalb tags so please travel safely. Last year NSWR sent officers with police dogs into the Tucker locker room! Guess that didn’t work too well for them. LOL!!!

@ King of diamonds, in response to re alignment for NSWR all it meant was a weak schedule, I agree with tucker fans on this one. i hope we can only pick up some competition. from what I understand, no one wants to play us, I do not blame them,I would not want to play Tucker in the middle of the season. Anyone can put whatever they want in a Poll. let`s deal with Logic, Sandy Creek has only lost like 2 or 3 games in the last 4 years with two state titles in two separate classification and are undefeated now. So why aren`t they around the top of the poll, Northside, has only lost a few games and are unbeaten now, and will probably win state if we don`t, why aren`t they near the top. This is totally a subjective poll, that can be bias, to certain states for whatever reason. Check the facts, Ga whoop AL, SC and FL a@@ in recent games. Hell, one of our single A teams from the north went to AL and kick one of their top 5A teams A@@. Eagles Landing Christian. See I looked things up now you try it.

WE ARe TUCKER? Are you guys serious? We are not Martin Luther King HS. The bottom line is there will be no wins gift wrapped for you again this season. I do not believe that Tucker has ever outplayed Northside for four quarters. Luck does not win championships. Furthermore, Tucker took a BIG step backwards, in means of coaching and game preparation (which I called before the season started). Tucker has become just another DeKalb County program that is loaded with talent but lack the discipline and coaching acumen to win at the highest level. What about the hapless Tucker secondary. No one has mentioned how easily opponents pass against Tucker (remember, Northside vs. Tucker in the Georgia Dome). FYI: Northside’s best player is WR/RB Keshun Hill, who I project will have three or four touchdowns in another easy win for the Big Blue.

WE HAVE A MUCH BETTER COACH (Kinsler – 35-2…The new Tucker guy 12-2).
Adam Choice, from Thomas County Central, was “supposedly” real good. Discipline EXPOSES poorly coached teams. Tucker coaching is like most DeKalb County programs…mediocre to slight better than mediocre.

It is girl’s basketball season in DeKalb County. At least, Tiger fans should start preparing for the girl’s basketball season. I doubt that there is any competitive cheering or anything like that over at Tucker.
You guys should go down to Warner Robins for the halftime show, because I expect Northside to make a mockery of that laughable Tucker secondary. I live in Atlanta. We need to call out Tucker, right now.

With that WEAK schedule the Gators play, I would expect to see Ware Co this far in the playoffs each year. I know you are elated that Statesboro stayed at 4A … the only competition your Gators had. Both region 6 POWERHOUSES that made to the elite 8 have blown the doors off Ware and Friday 30th the beat down continues … Stephenson gets #3 all time in the series, by 2+ TD. Make sure you give us your thoughts on the game Saturday morning, or will we hear CRICKETS.
@ENR – Man where you been ALL season? Haven’t heard much from you thru the regular season and the first two rounds of the playoffs. I knew the Tucker/Northside match up would bring you back to the keyboards. Yes, Tucker has a new coach, a prodigy of the one that just left and certainly he needed to get his feet under him and now that process is COMPLETE. I will not argue that Coach Kinsler is a GOOD coach and has a very impressive win & loss record. But frankly if your Eagles continue to play cupcakes he will go down in as one of the fastest 100+ win coaches in GA history. Everyone knows that the Macon teams are weak. As I mention to Gator Bait, I expect the Eagles to reach this level every year under the current realignment. This Friday the Eagles FINALY get to show off that #1 ranking to the DEFENDING STATE CHAMPIONS – Tucker Tigers. Tucker puts another “L” on the record books at the famous MAC stadium, because playing teams like Northside does, loses are at a premium.

It doesn’t matter what region Northside in we would be undefeated in ANY region. The only team that can actually BEAT Northside is Northside. If you sit and watch the past 3 losses Northside beat themselves with costly turnover after turnover. It was not good defenses it was TURNOVERS. It doesn’t matter what us bloggers say, but Tucker players know that Northside was giving them HELL And Northside Offense was Driving and could not be stopped. Tucker Could not even get a first down 2nd half. They continually moved back not forward. So the Tucker Players know when they Step foot in Warner Robins Georgia on Friday that they are gonna get the BEST damn team in the state. It don’t matter if they wanna put 7 players in the box to stop the run we will throw it. So Tucker you can pick your Poison because either way its not gonna be a good day to be a Tucker Tiger

With all due respect, BluEagle, I live in metro Atlanta and I have had the good fortune to see Tucker live three times this season. I saw them once before the big semifinal game last season. Any objective metro Atlanta poster would tell you that Tucker is not nearly as good or disciplined this season as they have been in the past five years. It is honestly like watching an entirely different program due to the coaching change. Pull up the Tucker vs. MLK game (which I attended) and tell me with a straight face that their secondary is mediocre. What I can assure you is any team can throw the ball on Tucker. There is very little pressue up front and the DBs can not play the ball in the air. Keshun Hill should go NUTS!

Blu Eagle, do you live in Warner Robins? I only ask because only Northside folks buy into this chaos and wild whispers that poison my hometown and alma mater. I was told by a Warner Robins resident that I grew up with and have a great deal of respect of that Northside has poor coaching. This is Northside HS that was lucky to make it past the 2nd round for almost 40 years and now is clearly one of the top 3 programs in the entire state. Kevin Kinsler is 35-2 and people are complaining, as they did with Conrad Nix who won approximately 13 games per season. Northside has limited big time talent. Some programs, i.e. Stephenson, produce in one season as many NCAA Division I players as Northside does over 20 years. Northside has the 2nd best offense in the state and best defense…by far. What tells you that this Tucker team is going to be competitive?
If you have followed the “old” ENR, you know that I speak very highly of the football in DeKalb County, which gets no respect (for reasons that I can make assumptions about). I have seen Tucker. If Tucker folks are honest, they will tell you that this is a different Tiger program now.

I was wondering how many Tucker fans would be at the North Atlanta game on Tuesday (girl’s basketball). Tiger4Life are you going to join the girl’s team down at the Christmas Tournament in Naples, Florida. We both know that Tiger football is mothballs by Saturday morning. Do you guys need me to help you all pack up the uniforms. I can’t wait to put the entire Tucker fanbase in a skirt cheering on girl’s basketball.

Wait a minute, you can not donate to Tucker sports. You have to donate everything to DeKalb County and then share it with every program. That’s right! That is why one of the top coaches in the state left Tucker for Lamar County.
Write DeKalb County School Board and get the website back up. Of course, we both know that the majority of your donations to DeKalb School Board will likely be stolen, errr I mean get lost.

There is more in AAAAA than Northside vs. Tucker. While many people have an eye on Stephenson at Ware County, my curiosity is peaked by the two other games. I can not believe that Allatoona continues to get practically no respect. Whitewater brought the entire Eagle Nation to our knees two seasons ago. This should be a really good game.
Someone should also give a big shout to Harris County. This team had to be awful. Heck, they lost to Veterans HS (Warner Robins), that is only in their third season, and Houston County that has taken the ways to pull defeat from the jaws of victory to an art form. Harris County was 0-4 and they have won 8 straight including the complete violation of Warner Robins HS last week (leading 31-6 in the 4th quarter). I want to see this Harris County QB. For one player to complete change a program’s dynamics, he must be special. There is some great football all across the classification.

uwillbetuckeraway: I have been to every Northside vs. Tucker game. I was there last season as about 40% of the great Tucker fanbase was clearing the stadium with the assumption that the game was over. Again, anyone on this site knows that I give Tucker there respect. I just do not believe that this year’s team is close.
During the first Tucker vs. Northside game, I thought that the Tigers were going to hang 50 on us. There looked that good…that physical…that disciplined. The Tucker team last season was obviously good. However, painting it as if Tucker outplayed Northside is simply disingenuous. Northside dominated the second half. We made a big mistake when we should have walked into the end zone and gone up 23-10 (not close). At the end of the day, the Tucker kids earned a hard fought win. They did not give up. However, if you were at McConnell-Talbert (as I was), you know that much of the Tucker fanbase threw up a white flag!
This year, I expect the Tucker coaching staff to put up a white flag…early. These guys are going to have to prove to me that they are not your “typical” DeKalb County coaches (unprepared…undisciplined…clueless!). Why should we believe that the new Tucker program is anything more than another Southwest DeKalb, Stephenson or MLK.

uwillbtuckedaway: I am a brother and I have season tickets at the 45 yard line (Row 11, Seats 7-10). Painting Warner Robins as a railroad track town is laughable. The home side is for season ticket holders. The people that do not have season tickets (a very affordable $100/season…I have 4) can only get General Admission tickets on the visitors side. There are not seating areas for Blacks and Whites. We are from Warner Robins. We are not the segregated schools of DeKalb County and many metro Atlanta towns.

Gainesville vs. Harris County
Maxwell projects: Gainesville by 16??????
Is this some kind of a joke?!?!? Harris County has not lost a game since making some serious personnel changes after the Douglas County game. If Harris County can go up 31-6 against perennial Georgia football power Warner Robins, what do Maxwell and other gamblers believe that Harris County is going to do. If I was a betting man…heck, I am a betting man, I would give Harris County a two touchdown advantage simply due to the distance that Gainesville is going to have to travel.
Take a look at what happens to the majority of metro Atlanta programs that travel to south Georgia. Look at the Peachtree Ridges, North Gwinnetts, etc. These teams get violated. I saw Flowery Branch from Gainesville’s region and I was not impressed at all.

Ware County 24, Stephenson 21
We all know that Stephenson has to drive four hours to the game. We all know that Stephenson has the most talent. We also know that Stephenson are the KINGS of pulling defeat from the jaws of victory. If there is any program that will figure out ways to throw a game away, it is Stephenson.
Ed Dudley has led the Gators to three straight quarterfinals. The first two were on the road, with the Gators traveling across the state to play a football game (at Tucker and then at Lovejoy). Only metro Atlanta fans who have not been to Waycross would question the home field advantage that Ware County has. I have NEVER been to a nicer or more rowdy stadium than that of Ware County HS. People are pointing to a season opening game hosting Coffee as reason to doubt Ware County. Heck, Coffee hung over 40 beating Whitewater 41-3.
Stephenson loses for three reasons. 1. The trip is too far and Stephenson loses a touchdown due to the long trip, 2. Ware County has the best home facility and greatest home advantage in the Peach State, and 3. Stephenson is just Stephenson – they choke away wins and lack discipline. Stephenson players will be dancing around over first downs, instead of having the discipline to simply move the sticks and depend upon their own talent.

Allatoona 28, Whitewater 17.
Allatoona is a new school, as is Whitewater. The fanbase is so excited about what is happening in Acworth (North Cobb, that destroyed Valdosta 42-14 is another Acworth school). When I see what happened to Whitewater against Coffee (41-3), I just assume that Allatoona is going to make it happen.

Well you are right about DeKalb county in everything goes into one pot. That’s why only a few programs make up the entire money pool in the county when it comes to football. Region 6 there is a sellout game every week unlike other region game.

While respectfully read your opinions on DeKalb county football especially Stepehsnon I beg to differ greatly with you & probably many of the Tucker base fans. I hear you talking loud but your saying the samething as previous bloggers about why Stephenson loose? Has it dawned upon you just once you might say Stepehsnon has a good team? Probably not. Are you still thinking about the fumble that cost NSWR last year? Even then NSWR had a chance to see what they were made of. It wasn’t like no time wasn’t left left on clock. I know some what to see Stephenson loose so you don’t want to play them. Stepehenson has been a consistant contender for years. Now just when Stephenson starts to make some serious noise (because you didn’t think they were going to make it this far) some of you have that puzzled look like Stephenson? Don’t worry the team with the S on there chest will be coming to a staduim near you soon. Before all that I think you have amajor fight on your hand with Tucker. They are the defending State Champs and they have two losses in the Mighty Region 6.
So ENR, after tomorrow nite I hope to hear back from you. Just for the record your three reason why Stepehenson losses toss them out the window. This will be Stephenson third trip down to the Swamp & the first two times we enjoyed victories so why not make it a 3-peat. In matter of fact we may adopt the Swamp as our home away from home

@KingOfDiamonds I would have to agree and disagree. I think the only real disciplined team in Dekalb county is Tucker. or Was Tucker this years team doesn’t look very impressive and it shows. But Tucker has been very disciplined in the past couple years or so. They won 2 championships while Stephenson and MLK Have 0. Stephenson needs a better coaching staff because they look like their all about the hype and not football

Yea ENR I grew up in W. robins do not live there anymore, raised a family up here in north georgia. I am an old man sort of ha, played on Coach Nix’s first teams in 74 and 75. Even then we came off the practice field yelling 10 and 0. Not only did I have respect for Coach Nix as a football genius, he was also a man of faith and taught his boys great life lessons, because that is the important thing, RIGHT?

Good to see ENR emerge from obsurity now that the Eagles have made it to the quarter finals. However I have to disagree with his assessments of Stephenson and Tucker. The simple truth is one or both of these great teams will emerge victorious tonite (probably both).
