@Dboy Scott
Your words- That’s like me telling you to come up to Decatur where I live or East Atlanta where I grew up in East Lake Meadows. Google those project and you will see where my cloths were cut.
Baby boy this is the real DECK, the educated thug, OG, & DBL! If you say you are from Decatur before you post make sure your facts are CORRECT. I do not blog, I only read the blogs for entertainment, but I MUST jump in and correct you on “MY” Decatur Turf. East Lake Meadows (ELM) was not located in East Atlanta just because the word “EAST” is in front of Lake & Atlanta does not mean ELM was located in East Atlanta. ELM was on the border of Atlanta-Memorial Drive & Decatur-Glenwood Rd. If anything, the projects “The Hamp” was closer to East Atlanta & it was tagged with a Decatur’s address. I will post one time only no blogging back and forth with you, but if you are “truly” from the Deck, respect me & post only the FACTS.
Great job on ALL GHS football teams & good luck on next week games. Now let’s RISE UP & get ready for the Dirty Birds to beat up on Tampa Bay & the New Orleans “Aints

OK, with Camden winning the toss and getting a home game, Is there a school that would like to step up and Stream the game since GPB will not travel south of HWY 16

@Fred–The unsportsmanlike penalty on the NG Band was 15 yds. The ref originally marked off 5 and the correctly added 10 to that. To continue about the penalty yards, It was said here earlier tht Grayson hurt themselves with penaties. NG was not immune to getting flagged and had the 15 yarder on the band,a roughing the passer(that cost points),several holdings, a block in the back on a kickoff and a number of delays and false starts. My point is both teams had penalties and it is usually what you do after those penalties that matter.

Brooks lost the coin toss and will travel to Calhoun next week. It’s a shame to have the state championship game played in the round of 16.

You’re right! Norcross isn’t Brunswick. But Camden ain’t the Little Sisters of the Poor either!

My Valdosta Wildcats didn’t play this weekend, but a couple of boys are playing pretty well between the hedges today.

No sour grapes but I would like to say how very disappointed I was with the many holding penalties… amongst others….received by the Lions; at this stage of play those types of errors should have been minimal AND at this stage of play the Special Team should automatically know what to do and how to set up for a 4th punt….AND at this stage of play any park league coach knows not to put the ball in the air with 2 minutes remaining in regulation, and your down by only 1 point AND you’re on your 23rd yard line with 4 downs and 3 timeouts available to you!
The MLK coaching staff does great during regular season but it amazes me when it comes to the Playoffs and things are really tight somebody makes a really stupid call to end a very good season.
Hats off to the boys…a terrible coaching decision ended this season.

@Flyer – It would be unseemly for me to continue to debate the various points of the game. I was under the impression that the band penalty was a 5 yarder – my bad. NG came ready to play with a good game plan and exploited our weaknesses. If y’all can continue to play in that manner you should go far. Good luck in your coming games. Make Gwinnett proud!

Northside likes to choke in these kind of games and Tucker would happily take a choke.

@Fred – I remember the band penalty as being announced as a 5 yarder, if that’s any help. I didn’t find the officiating favoring one team or the other either. NG looked simply more motivated, prepared, and ready to play.

@GwinnettDad–The band penalty was annouced as a 5 yeard penalty. The previous play was a pass to No. 11 and he was tackled at the 29. After the penalty was assessed the ball was at the 44. The yardage marked off was correctly marked at 15 yards.
@Fred– I didn’t want to go on about it, just wanted to point out that NG had it share of penalties as well. Thanks for the well wishes! We will definitely give it our all, but we have a tough task ahead of us!

@Flyer – No issues man! I just don’t think since we lost and are totally out of it that it would appropriate for me to dissect the game in any way. Sour grapes, unhappy fan, however you (figuratively, not you personally) might describe it. Again, best wishes and I’m looking for you to uphold the county!
@GwinnettDad – I don’t think the officiating favored either team. There were some plays that I thought some things were missed but like I said I don’t blame that on our loss. NG was very well prepared and motivated and they won. I think we were -4 or -5 on turnovers and you can’t do that at this level and expect to win and move on. I hate it for a lot of reasons but that’s high school football! Losses like this are part of what makes it the best game in town in my opinion.
