Coach gets his Packers out of town, no distractions, just football. The Booster Club wants a championship, and if money is all that is in the way, they are gonna get it.

King of Diamonds,
You are right and I speak for myself i dont speak for another grown man or lady. I dont care to see a all Dekalb Co championship. As long as we are in a championship it doesnt matter to me. You see I am a real competitor and real supporter of MY team not anyone elses. This is called SPORT people some of you never played that’s why I sound arrogant and all that. I can be arrogant we have CHIPS in the trophy case. Get some then you will see the landscape as I do. You sound like the fans that want a all SEC championship. As long as them DAWGS are in I can care less who we play.

Camden/Norcross a coin flip. Has been that way in the past for two #1 seeds in GA. Anyway to change rules? A neutral site? Course, in Ohio, and in many other states, most rounds at neutral anyway.

Yes, Camden County Wildcats “GO” by all means, “GO” play in Florida, that’s closer for you anyway. Aren’t CCHS Wildcats covered by Florida Times Union in Jax, FL more than any other paper?

wilddawg2012,
It is mostly luck when you get so deep into a football season. You see I understand this game so much that’s why I talk the way I do. When you have the opportunity to talk a little trash you better do it because its gonna get done to you soon or a later. That’s what makes football so great. Well for some anyway. I have always been a winner. Sure my teams loss some too and it sucks but when your team is winning gloat a little bit nothing wrong with it. It actually feels good being a winner. Only losers and haters, hate my comments. The winners understand my logic and where Im coming from.

As for the comments about the Pack not bringing their A-game. I sometimes suspect Propst may be sandbagging a little at times. He never goes all-in until he has too.
That 4th and 10 conversion? Looked a little smooth for a team in desperation, don’t you think?

G’DAD, never have like the coin flip anyway. That’s petty, silly stuff for such a tough, physical sport. That should be changed. Has to be a better way.

@inthatrenches

Sound like a little bit of sour grapes there. Colquitt is a solid team, and probably should have beaten Newnan by a lot more. While Newnan isnt as strong as they have been in past years, they played about as well as they could and just didnt have quite enough to get it done. I must say Colquitt is very lucky. #1 had a guaranteed pick 6, that would have been ball game Newnan if he doesnt drop it.

That win over a pansy like EP is nothing to talk about. I’m not talking about the whooping we put on what’s that schools name?? Anyway, that’s another reason stephenson are losers and will never win anything because when yall remotely have a accomplishment yall want to get praise for it. WIN THE BIG ONE AND THEN YOU WILL GET RESPECT UNTIL THEN BE QUIET AND HOPE YOU ADVANCE FROM WEEK TO WEEK. Stop looking for pats on the back all the time. Matter of fact here you go YAY Stephenson finally won a playoff game. Whopty dang do! lolol

@Fred – you have my condolences. NG sure did look like they wanted it more than Grayson tonight. All started with that first turnover when the DT got their before the handoff. Downhill from there. NG actually ran pretty well, and Grayson couldn’t figure out a screen pass defense.

Man the pack wins a game and the Propst bashing immediately starts. Shame on you guys.

Some questionable calls there at the end too. We had a defender push a guy out of bounds that was running up the sideline and we get a personal foul call. Regular tackle, awful call. I’ve never seen so many personal fouls in one game for both teams. Flag happy refs

Still a coin toss.

Of course it would have been nice to watch the rams keep going and defend their title, but its been a lot of fun watching them the last 10 years. Far more good nights than bad.

Sorry Fred ,Colquit landed in the right bracket this year, ….they are better than average but not great…and this region stuff is overated region 7 and 8 are as competitive and as strong as region 1 I admit coming from a stronger region prepares you better for the playoffs but to declare one team is better based on a region is ludacris….afterall the bracket you land in contributes greatly to your playoff chances and this year Colquit has landed in the weakest bracket period …point blank… Look forward to the rest of the playoffs…I guess I will bandwagon Sandy Creek since I am only ten minutes from them…

I told you it was not over. Now Grayson is gone. All the favorites are gone except Camden and Colquit. Wait till next week. My thoughts on the Lovejoy vs Marietta game. Two plays kept this from being a shut-out. A bad snap on an attempted field goal by Lovejoy with a scoop and score by Marietta and a blown coverage on a pass play that left a receiver open, wide open. No one within 10 yards of him. The Lovejoy defense kept Anthony Jennings on the run all night. He had his moments but in the end, the D was to much. 2 Seconds, That is all you have, 2 seconds. Congratulations to the Cats and all those that won tonight. I hope there were no serious injuries and all traveled safely.

Stephenson biggest win was beating us in the REGULAR SEASON..Who cares now everybody it the playoffs and we are 2-0 about to face the other best team in the state besides us in our classification. “5 Starr Cat”, No, not really, don’t have a “cat in the fight”(pardon the pun) but just always thought they were more like a FL high school football team, having seen some FL HS football myself. CCHS is stuck off over there in the corner almost in FL anyway, and the AJC ignores them usually. So that leaves them to be covered by the FL Times Union. Just seems way out of whack for some reason. They would match up well with a team like Yulee FL(nearby) who had the kid that broke the HS rushing record this year, Derrick Henry. Just an opinion, nothing else. It is a shame though that schools can’t cross the state lines and play in other state’s leagues if they want to and if it’s more economical for them to do so. (Border schools, I’m referring to)

Wow!! That kinda stuff like that has to energize a team and i know i would play my #$%^ off for a guy to battle through pain like he did.And to top it off i don’t think he’s a senior either.Man he really gave it up for the outgoing senior class. What great sportsmanship and it says alot about the program and coaching staff.Hope your qb recovers well

@Dekalb Co… No sour grapes I could tell we were not on our game in the 1st qtr…when you follow a team you get a feel for how they are going to play…MLK and Stephenson has had alot of those type games… this Newnan team has been weak this year we finished second in probably the weakest 6A region… Our best effort was the EC game and that was not good either..we won but EC had many turnovers in the redzone and some penalties that killed them…we would not have made the playoffs in last years region 2… I dont have any animosity just wanted to let it be known that Colquit probably ate too much turkey because that was a give-away I love my cougars but You obviously do not know Cougar football if you thought that was as good as we could play?

Yulee couldnt match up with Camden because of numbers. They only play 15-20 kids. Camden will play at least 40. Yulee is in the semis next week against powerhouse Bolles.

@NGHS 09 – Y’all played a great game and we didn’t. We beat ourselves again in my opinion. I’m not convinced the penalties were equal but I’ll have to wait and see the stats. The officiating did not cost us the game – we did that – but it was “interesting” as much in what wasn’t called as much as what was called. NG came ready to play and was able to disrupt our game plan. It seemed to me that we didn’t do the things that got us there but that’s just me. You were able to get penetration on our O line and ate us up with some short passes. You looked the part of a champion. Again, congratulations and good luck moving forward!

@WILDHAWG2012 He is a strong lefty but only a sophmore…He was hit alot and did what He could but this group is a dissapointment overall.. not his group but this senior group… We have some individuals who were very talented but lack that “something” We did not play as well as we could have tonight… when you hit the playoffs you should be playing your best and stepping to another level..we did not do that and have not played to our talent level all year..We have some offensive issues… like coaching…. Congrats to the Packers they get a much tougher opponent next week in Parkview.. Hope they rise to the occasion… they usually do!

Mlk assured there will not be a 5A Reg. 6 final in the dome. I don’t know how Head East, Cannon Rule and other East Paulding supporters can defend a loss at home. They must have believed the 17 point spread.Tucker at Northside will be a review of the 5A Champion.

I don’t think Stephenson can beat NSWR or Tucker at this stage of the season.

Good luck to all winners and to the losers, start your basketball season. The blog will be great reduced except to old fart Yo. He is still an old angry man attacking survivals even though his beloved Lowndes Cty and Valdosta lost at home. He needs to retire from here from until 2013. It’s all yours now Sportsnut.

“5SC”, yep you’re probably right, I realize now that Yulee is a fairly small town, but they do field a good solid football team. Also, if I’m not mistaken, Bolles is the Jax school that produced Chipper Jones. Now that you brought it up, (number of players) I was simply amazed at something I read this week. Northside/ Warner Robins and WR High School both field around 100 players for their games this year. Two teams from the same town with that many dressed out is almost unheard of, especially when there’s two more high schools in the county!
