South Gwinnet had only 29 yards rushing and 18:39 in possession time, but QB Jordan Ramey was 13-of-18 passing for 243 yards with an 80-yard TD pass to Coray Keel. 3. @grayram – LOL. Rennie’s parents live in my neighborhood. He’s come a long way since I was buying a Brookwood TD Card from himm and then another from my son before a season started. Rennie was drafted by Tennessee, played a year, cut, signed with Tampa Bay, but cut late last August. Too short, I think, to play pass defense well, but boy could he tackle. So quick to the ball. Cameron Lynch, probably the key to Brookwood’s State 2010 State Championship, has started for Syracuse at linebacker since arriving as a Freshman last year. So, yes, we’ve had some good ones. Boy do we miss them this year!

Kenny Sims, RB, South Carolina, Terrence Davis, WR, Wake Forest, Andre Sims WR (injured) Michigan State are just a few Broncos playing at the top level on the other side of the ball from Brookwood this season.

Just to clarify Grayson’s point diff….My son plays Jv, in a few games the pts were scored on Jv… I’m sure its that way for other teams also. Shiloh and a few others scored more pts because of that.
As for that Parkview loss, Fred you forgot Robert fumbled in the endzone also….he just drop the ball as I can remember it.

@Rams Jv Parent–Number 21 from Parkview knocked the ball out on about the 5 on that play. The ball was fumbled forward and recovered in the end zone. Number 21 stretched and just poked the ball out. Grayson would have surely scored if that not happened.

@Rams Jv Parent – Didn’t forget, it just didn’t change anything. I was only talking about our mistakes that cost us points. Most of the teams with lopsided victories start playing the JV in the second half when the point differential is high. Gives them game experience and cuts down on the chance that a starter gets hurt. Grayson is good about rotating players in and out. You have to be careful with the JV that you don’t exceed the 6 quarters per week rule.

As a true Nhs Cougars fan I truly know Colquitt has a better team. It’s going to be a long night for our DB’s. One thing about the QB injury is the offense will be more ground orientated which is not bad. 5′11 Dix #27 is a bruiser at running back at 230lb. I saw Valdosta gave up on tackling him last year in the playoffs. Hopefully I’m wrong but I like Colquitt 34 Nhs 24. Bonus pick Camden 51 E Coweta 14

By far the two most impressive teams I have seen this year is Norcross and Sandy Creek. The most impressive player is Dunston #5 RB/FS from Heard County. He is only 5′7 155 but he lay the wood as a safety and is special at running back. he is only a sophomore

@ GwinnettDad…Of Course Camden will play Colquitt in the semis…well @least Camdne LOL. The Hogs are coming though.

@grayram…Rennie nailed me on the first play from scrimmage in the 2007 2nd round matchup. He didn’t care about tackling you, he wanted to hurt you LOL. Another guy who would knock your block off was Kellen Williams.

Best recipe to beat Grayson was Colquitt 2 years ago. Short controlled passing game and get your WRs one on ones, spread them out and run the ball between the tackles just enough to get the secondary flying up, play-action, boom. Think Calhoun vs Buford in last years title game. Not too many high schools are efficient passing, oh and ensure the officiating crew isn’t from Gwinnett ( I kid)

The margin of talent in the remaining teams is so slim, I think it comes down to execution on game night and that is highly unpredictable with these young men….will definitely be interesting.

We are honored to be mentioned in the same sentence as Valdosta, Lowndes, Colquitt, Camdem, Lovejoy, Newnan, Grayson, Brookwood, North Gwinett, Mill Creek, Parkview, Norcross and Marietta. Though we are an old school, we lack the winning traditions that those great schools have established. Hopefully us, Langston Hughes and West Forsyth can make up for lost time in the years ahead.

@ North Cobb fan…If yall keep on winning year in and year out then you most certainly will. BTW Mill Creek does NOT belong anywhere near the rest of those names. Lovejoy maybe because they have shown what they can do, but certainly not Mill Creek or Marietta in the last 15-20 years. West Forsyth can cement their statewide rep with a win over Parkview. Looking pretty darn good right now.

NG vRams could be the best game of all rounds save the Dome games. Logic says the WingT, HybridTs or, as we call it in Grayson “SlingTs” have tough time w/ wild west, spread offenses since most of our practice time is spend on the exacting timing required to run our offense, but I’d say we’ve done well against passing offenses (SGwinnett and Miami Central to name just two) Our DC, Coach Andrews is RABID about stout defense, and the current roster of DBs can hold up. I predict a close game up until mid-way thru Q3 when Grayson’s depth takes over. I’m interested in Wforysth. Are they for real? 6AAAAAA seems weak to me…..any comments?

Look for Shannon Jarvis and his Mill Creek Hawks to get a big playoff win against power house Brookwood. Brookwood did win earlier in the season, but Gwinnett county leading rusher for Mill Creek Jacorey Lewis (1903 yes, 27 tds) did not play in the 2nd half due to a shoulder injury. add that in with 2 fumbles on the goal line and a missed chip shot by MC, and you could be looking at a different outcome in the first meeting. I expect Mill Creek to come out very excited considering it being they’re first ever home playoff game and get a close win over Mark Crew’s Broncos.

GwinnettDad, unless Rennie’s parents have moved you and I live in the same neighborhood. The first time he came to my door as a 10th grader to sell Lift-a-Thon tickets and told me he was a linebacker at Brookwood, I almost laughed for an hour. He was small and not the typical Brookwood LB. My team is now red and black.

Newnan/ Colquit game, should be better than expectations, This may not be the Cuga team of the past 4 seasons but neither is the Packers… it will require some pressure up the middle on Seagraves but the Cuga D is pretty good and have some very good corners. I think it will be closer than anticipated…if Newnans QB is out? it will be tough but the backup is faster and should we turn to an option offense we have the speed to move the ball… if we cannot move the ball then Our D will be on the field alot… I look for a return or key turnover to define this game…Both teams will want it…. just got to find the team that has the heart in the fourth quarter? GO CUGAS!
