By Score Atlanta

Blessed Trinity 35, White County 14: In a rematch of a 21-19 regular-season thriller, Blessed Trinity prevailed in more convincing fashion over White County. With home-field advantage this time, Blessed Trinity got 256 passing yards and two scores from Spencer McManes. Nathaniel Maggio caught both touchdowns while C.J. Brazil added 104 receiving yards. Sam Roberts had two interceptions for the Titans.

Buford 41, Cedar Grove 27: Montgomery VanGorder threw three touchdowns to lead host Buford past Cedar Grove. VanGorder connected with Mikey Bart from nine yards out in the second quarter then tossed 28-yard and 44-yard scoring strikes to Jaylen Mize and David Curry, respectively, in the second half. Deion Sellers had two rushing touchdowns and a kickoff return for a score to keep Cedar Grove competitive.

Johnson-Savannah 32, Chapel Hill 23: Running back Corbin Mitchell scored on a 43-yard touchdown run to give the visiting Atom Smashers a comfortable lead with just over two minutes left in the game. Johnson took a 12-7 halftime lead and never trailed the Panthers in the second half. Chapel Hill running back Tre Mitchell rushed for 202 yards and a touchdown.

Greater Atlanta Christian 35, Model 6: The host Spartans took a 21-0 halftime lead and held the Blue Devils scoreless into the fourth quarter. Greater Atlanta Christian quarterback Rafe Chapple threw two touchdown passes in the first half. Running back Micah Abernathy led the Spartans’ ground attack with 83 yards rushing and a touchdown.

North Hall 38, Woodward Academy 7: The host Trojans scored 31 straight points in a rout of Woodward Academy. Lee Shelton caught a 56-yard touchdown pass to give North Hall a commanding 28-0 second-half lead.

SPX all i see is 309 passing yards giving up hope you can cover the pass better than that if we make it to the 3rd round and play y’all….Our qb had only 180 yards passing but 6 passing Td’s…He is quietly having a beast of a season….

I took some heat for saying I hope 20-14’s car broke down so he would not make it to NHall to see the game. That was mean and I am sorry. But it looks like he didnt miss anything. I really thought WA had a chance of winning the game. It is a good thing I don’t bet high school football for a living. Looking at my brackets in all of high school football I am sitting at 65% winners. That is not good.

SOW, Congrats man! You guys are solid and you are right. SPX has a long way to go to be able to be in Waco’s league. Your QB is unbelievable with 6 passing TD’s. Nothing quiet about his exceptional season. If SPX can just play their game and somehow get past Hart County they can live for another day. On the other hand, Waco looks unstoppable as they have all year. Your path to the Dome is laid out for you and you have all the weapons. You pretty much just need to show up and collect the check.

Hello, boys; “20-14″ here! First, Woodward didn’t play well and lost big. Fair enough. We will take our lumps and come back next year. Secondly, if you think that hanging 72 points on an outgunned Dawson team in any way validates your misplaced belief that you are among Georgia’s elite football programs, well, you guys are clearly delusional. There are drugs that can help with this but don’t head to the medicine cabinet just yet, P. Once you complete your “creampuff” bracket ( I am giving you the benefit of the doubt here), maybe you can have the chance to beat a real team. Look out; the rest of Georgia AAA is waiting for their shot at you. Sincerely, WA Parent aka “20-14″.

Sports Mommy…Congrats to CG for a great year. Buford is a powerhouse and there is no shame in losing to those guys. SPX simply ran the ball 51 times for over a 10 yard avg. per carry. They scored on every drive even with the bench cleared. 72 points just happens when you can’t stop the run. What are you supposed to do, tell the boys to take a knee? It’s just a W and they need to get past Hart County somehow.

Pius is just that PIUS! Think you are better than anybody else and that losing is beneath your dignity. WA stuffed you when it mattered…..we can live with that, seems you can’t. Yeah, we got beat by a superior team…..we admit that, and lose with class and dignity. Something, apparently, upon which you know nothing.
And…..by the by, you’ll be counting rebounds sooner than later.

I want to thank Thomson because after that loss our defense has been playing lights out…I mean pike who gave peach a tight 24-14 game…We blasted for 48-0 in first half and sent them to the locker room with negative total yards….Our top players didn’t even play 2nd half and our back ups came in with the same focus the starters had ….

Yes, he sprained his ankle. He had to be helped off the field! Our head coach said the injury was bad enough to keep him out the rest of game, but sounds optimistic that he should be able to play next game. I sure hope he’s right because as a fan, its never a good sign to see or hear when one of the key players, especially the starting qb, on the sideline with a boot and on crutches! Hopefully they only had in a boot and on crutches to protect his ankle.

Kudos to Thomson’s offensive line and defense! When Tutt went down, them boys stepped their game up! Thomson’s o-line dominated the line of scrimmage and opened up some nice running lanes for Chris Jordan and Torrie Battle. The d-line dominated the line of scrimmage as well holding their backs to only 3 yards rushing with a couple of sacks! The defense also had timely turnovers with 4 interceptions and one returned over 95 yards for a touchdown! Great team effort!

For me one the lessons of the recent Presidential election is that, lies, false statements or other wise mis-leading information needs to be responded too, because by not challenging the mis-statments they become the narrative: IN that light 20-14 you continue to make the inflammatory statements for which you are now famous. Woodward earned their place the brackets just like Pius did. See when you win the district, you get to be first and play a 4th seed or in WA’s case the opposite. Again you seem to imply that some how WA did not get a fair chance. As far as 72 point contribution of a 100 pt, game. As usual Pius did not run up the score, we kept it on the ground but i f you were there you would know we were not comfortable until the 3rd due to Dawson’s excellent passing game which remained a threat. Our 2nd team came in and scored, and a bad snap by Dawson on thier next possession resulted in an SPX TD. Dawson’s offense prooved why they were and the entire team never quit. They were a class act until the end. Much more than some teams we played this year.

Kman, I forgot to add that if your statement “WA stuffed you when it mattered” were true, WA would have had 4th seed opponent last night and PIus would not We lost to WA and WA lost to 2 teams we beat. We won the district and are moving on to the 2nd road. Get over it.

By the way, kidsball coach, you say you did not run up the score on the team you played Friday night, as you “kept it on the ground.” That is so absurd. THAT is how you Pius Piuses run up the score; it’s your strength! You are weak when you throw, so in order to NOT run up the score you would throw the ball. Just sayin……..oh, did I mention 20-14?
Plus, there is never an apology for a bonehead play by your coach on 4th and 1 at your own 30. That stuff heavily contributed to that 20-14, by the way.

By the way, Not a Lion, I would probably prefer for Thomson to be in Callaway’s position, so don’t feel bad! Not too many people are talking about Cartersville, and they are undefeated! I’m sure they feel a little disrespected as well and have every right to feel that way! Which ever team wins in their 2nd round match-up between Thomson and Johnson-Savannah is in for a doozy in the 3rd round against either Cartersville or Blessed Trinity! Bet on it!!

Seen a Few… Thanks for your get well wishes for Thomson’s quaterback! And I also agree with you on the back and forth between St. Pius’ and Woodward Academy’s fans! I didn’t see the game between these two teams, but W.A. won, end of story! At the same time though, Pius is still playing this week and need to focus on a good Hart County team! W.A. has been eliminated, but should keep their heads up for a good season and a bright future! I’m just saying… Good luck to both teams in the near future!!
