Wesleyan has some tough kids, a couple took some tough licks and got to go at it again. Qb has a strong arm.

Westminster was impressive. Beat us soundly. Very well coached. Strong aggressive D with solid O. Some very nice players. Was a little disappointed with the kicker….with all the hype and being a gt commit, I expected him to be like what I have seen at Calhoun the past 8-10 years. He has good leg strength no doubt, but kicks a flat ball and is slow getting it off. We should have had a block.
Good luck to Westminster the rest of the way. Nice team.

Recruit hell..

Nice roundup. Wesleyan gets beat by 32 points and the only stats are about their QB and LB.

@PDragon…Not sure which Harrison Butker you were watching last night, but he is the real deal. Can it it from 60 yards with great accuracy. Made 16 out of 17 last year. Rated the top placekicker in the country to boot. No one at Calhoun compares to him! Sorry. I’ve watched him kick for 3 years.

Ive seen him too, he does not come close to Adam last year. And he us at bama now, he also doesn’t compare to any kicker we have had over the past 8 years. Also, Calhoun shut down a tough offense tonight with some huge hits and our O is a machine and will be very hard to stop.

He’s not is Harrison’s class! I’ve seem him kick. Does not have the leg or accuracy that Butker has. And oh btw..Harrison was the top rated kicker in the country last year even against your boy from Calhoun!

Adam kicked the winning fg for the state championship and has a full ride at Bama, good luck to your kicker topping that.

What is Harrisons record in hs? Adam only lost 5 games in 5 years.. plus a game winning fg in ot in the state championship… What’s Harrison got? And plus Bama is a whole lot better place to play then Tech.

hey guys, missing my point. The Westiminster kicker has talent as a HS kicker. Excellent leg strength and I know he has been accurate. However no matter how far he kicks it, or how many he makes in HS, he kicks a very flat ball and is slow to get it off. Both will lead to potential problems at the next level. The Calhoun kids simply got much more height and quicker height. I have heard about the kicking instructor they have from there….very good and gets them ready to be good college kickers (Blair at GT..ended as most accurate kicker in GT history, the next guy also went to GT, then Griffin to AL…looks like the instructor knows what he is doing). I am not saying who is the better HS kicker, or who is rated higher, cause that would be like rodeos around here, or travel baseball…seems like everyone wins a national title??? I know the ONLY rating system that rates the West kicker # 1 is a lower level AL camp. I am not sure I ever saw where the Calhoun kid was rated # 1 by anyone….well except UT and Saban when he went to their camps and got offered on the spot. I hope they all do well. I am just a little concerned from what I saw Fri night. Good luck
