5-Time, you are exactly right, I remember the night Buster Douglas fought Mike Tyson. On any given night one good uppercut can change a game. LOL I didn’t think anyone would beat Camden after watching them play last Friday against Lowndes. I’m not a Camden fan just a Georgia high school football junkie. So I’ll remember “You Play The Game!”

“CF” don’t even attempt to try to tell me he doesn’t have “veto power” over any play, and if he says I want such and such play run, IT WILL BE RUN, from what I have heard! Period! BTW, learn to read closely, it’s not “dumb-ass”. My family’s given name was just trampled upon. The only thing accurate is the “dum” part (self-deprecation, admittedly) An apology is in order?

@jvillebil, the problem with being at the top…everyone wants to knock you off. Somebody earlier said it right, I think Colquitt is Camdens Kryptonite!!! It is so true!!! In the last 21 games, Camden has lost twice, both to Colquitt!!!! I swear, Colquitt could be winless 0-9 and still give Camden fits. I really hope they get to play again this year.

True 1902. My gut tells me they’ll meet up in Kingsland and I plan on being there. I can’t imagine them beating them 3 times in a row. I can imagine how pumped the fans will be. But the year Jax Jags went 14-2 their only two losses were to Tenn Titians and no one thought, surely you can’t beat a team with 14 wins 3 times in a row, but apparently Tenn didn’t get the memo. So Colquitt may just feel like they just can’t lose to Camden.

And he was very upset on the 2 pt conversion call against Valdosta. But what do I know, I only heard him say it after the game on the radio

I will not be finished until they present the trophy. To whom, it does not matter. I would like for it to be Lovejoy but you should know me by now. I will not claim victory. I will not say we are better. I will say that to beat Lovejoy, you better come ready. Some people, who shall remain nameless, Camden74, think that they have the market cornered on talent and feel the need to claim superiority to offset their fear. We all know we can be beat. Damn, I will have to keep contradiction in the conversation if I keep this up. Talking about we know who. So I will take a short break and come back and let you know how I really feel. This is just getting started, 74

jvillebil….Yep, oh they gonna learn!! All year, some of the Camden posters along with other Region 1 posters kept referring how some teams blew out that team who blew out this team, so we’re better!! No!! It doesn’t work that way!! And I’m sure they’ve realized that now by all the Region scores. And definitely by tonight’s Camden/Colquitt’s score!! This squad might not matchup well with this particular team and vice-versa!! Valdosta put 38 points on Colquitt. But Camden blew out Valdosta!! And then Camden couldn’t score more than 12 points on Colquitt!! They’re not gonna be posting that nonsense anymore LOL….

I know turnovers are part of the game but it didnt help that Colquitt had 5 turnovers in the 1st half against Valdosta and they were down 31-7…Either way a loss is a loss..3 losses by a combined 7 pts

Just got settled in after returning from Douglas and getting caught up on reading the blog. In my opinion Valdosta just played its best game since Coach Gillespie arrived here – not its biggest or most important game (a couple wins last year come to mind), but its best game on both sides of the ball. Coffee was never in the game and never had a prayer of pulling off any kind of comeback.
After getting mauled by Camden and losing a heartbreaker to Lowndes that we coulda/shoulda won, the Cats could have folded their tents. All they did was score 41, 38, 41, and 44 points in their next four region games, winning all four and getting better each week.
We are ready for the playoffs.
By the way, BK, how does that “upset” smell now?

Apparently that team 74 is always refering to can be beat. There is no longer any reason for him not to be able to say ” On Any Given Friday “. The vaunted defense did not do it’s job, did it ? Colquit outscored Camden and that is the result of their D being better than yours on this night. The unstopable run game needed some help, didn’t it ? So much for your thoughts on passing. Late in the game, did you need that passing game because you were behind, as I stated earlier ? Was it just a thing of not wanting to pass or was it an inability to do so ? 50+ yard attempt ? Could your All-State Qb not get you any closer ? I see you stated you were not happy. I wonder why ? You said that is what you get when you allow a team to stay close. Did it ever occur to you that they have a plan also ? You also mentioned that, the game plan. I thought that was the same all the time, to win. The plan was executed to best of their ability. The other TEAM and COACH’S had a plan too, and it seems it was a little better or they were more prepared. You are bitting back with ” Camden beat you, didn’t they ?” Take it.I was under the impression that you like Camdens offense. Yet you state you don’t like conservative offense. What do you think the wing T is ? You say you never have. How long have you been a Camden fan and how long have they been running the wing T ? This just goes to show that you can learn something everyday from anybody. Since you don’t know any better, I will tell you again because I like you. Camden is not the best team in Georgia.

Reeze……Are you kidding me? Colquitt played a great game, but let’s be real, Camden’s conservative play, among other things, made it easier for Colquitt to stay in the game. But in the end, this may have been just what the Camden Players and Coaching Staff needed! They’ll be alright…… Good luck in the playoffs.

Wow another great Camden/Colquitt game. This game could have went either way. Both defenses really got after it and flew around all night. No need for i told you so because this is region 1 and we really do just beat each other up and get each other ready for the playoffs.region 1 is ready for the playoffs trust me and i would not want to be the team heading to Camden in the first round cause it is going to be ugly for them!!!! Good game Camden time to get down to concentrating on a playoff run. Safe travels home

sportsnut……How old are you, 10? Obviously you didn’t see the game. But what can I say to someone who needs attention as much as you do? I would love for Camden and Lovejoy to meet up in the playoffs or any other time. Why not have Lovejoy’s coach schedule Camden next season. You’ve been talking smack since July/August,let’s see what happens. There’s one thing for sure, Lovejoy will NOT be a factor in the playoffs, regardless of what Camden does!

Finally made it to the end of the blog and my head keeps falling off so I’ll keep it short. R8 region champs 4 out of past 5 years! There were more points scored in the first half of the Grayson-Brookwood game than in the past two years games combined! I thought our O did a great job and the D was its usual great group. We got beat twice on a pass play but before y’all pile on about our pass coverage, we also intercepted twice and one was a pick 6!
I don’t know which was better, winning the game or watching the last 5 minutes of the South win with the team in the team room! Our boys were jumping up and down and shouting at the screen! Way cool!
I’ll be back later to follow up but sleep calls before I drop the laptop!

hey i was watching the South Gwinnett/Parkview game and it was hard to watch but this game was senior night for SG and the region title was on the line for Parkview and the schools are what about 5 or 10 miles apart i think and yet Camden Co brought more fans to Colquitt than the fans at the whole SG/Park game!!! Camden has already won the region and their fans could have just stayed home and got ready for the first round of the playoffs at home but yet they drove at least 3 hrs or more one way to be their for their team!!! Great job Camden fans i know the kids feel the love u guys give them, Great job.

Camden74……Both teams played Great games , You are more familiar with your Cat than I , but i just didn’t see where Herron was conservative…..I think he called some good plays , Colquitt was just on top of most of them….How could any offense with J.J Green and the rest of his kids go conservative, a simple dive play could go for six at any time…..I mean , he could have thrown a little more

Reeze……I’ve always complained about the Coach’s play calling, but more times than not, Camden wins. But when you put that much pressure on your defense, that many times, the end results are not normally good. Think about this, on your own 29 yard line, 4th and one, you go for it. You’re in Colquitt territory and all you need to do is make a first down to really put Colquitt under the gun, what happens, you punt. 80 yard drive in the first half and you never come back to that offensive package the rest of the game. Your receivers are getting open down field, but you never or rarely ever pass on first down. I hope they’ve learned their lesson. IMO,the game should not have been that close going into the final minutes. Colquitt played a great game, but IMO, Camden played exactly the way they played against Lowndes. The difference is, Lowndes didn’t capitalize on Camden’s play calling, Colquitt did. That’s life in HS Football…..

@Elementary My Dear Watson he didn’t catch that ball. It was a good call. Now what was a bad call was the phantom pass interference called on Camden that gave them their second touchdown. They tackle Camden’s receiver and ref throws flag but changes his mind but Camden looks at a receiver and they call pass interference. Doesn’t matter Camden didn’t execute tonight, missed EXPoints. They had their chance. Bad calls all around even when Ramsey fumbled the ball and not called but it would’ve been fun if that balled had sailed a little bit more to the right.

Good game Camden. Just got home from the game and was one of the most intense games i have been to. Our defense came to play. Camden is better than lowndes no doubt but anybody can win on any given night.
this is your opinion…..and not suprising coming from a packer fan trying to make himself feel better bc the lowndes team that camden is better than manhandled your lil pigglets all night to the tune of 165 total yards. I dont care if the score was 17-14…..yall got your piggy buttocks whipped when the vikes rolled into the hogpen….
on another note….i believe that all of the top 4 in our region can beat each other on any given night ….that was proved tonight. There is a reason camden is 9-1…and region champs….just like their is a reason colquitt is 7-3 and the # 4 seed…..
i feel the region in order is just as it should be.
i believe grayson is the best team as of right now…..

nah….camden doesnt have lowndes number…the 2 previous times yall were beaten by lowndes and outscored 40-0 in the 2 games combined. Colquitt county has camdens number…..yall were undefeated last year and lost at home……and yall had the “best” camden team of all time this year and all you cd do was put up 12 points at colquitt….
like i said above….lowndes and valdosta both beat colquitt….welcome to region one highness 74..keep your fingers crossed yall avoid colquitt in playoffs.

74…..your team didnt dog anything……yall had 200 total yds…..yes the score was 24-7 but thats not any indication of how close the game was. i will remind you again for the 1000th time…….1000yds rushing and 14 tds was on the sidelines in street clothes……and lowndes still was right there. lowndes best team did not play against camden and be glad it did not…..its ok though yall got beat tonight by a team that has your number…..and a team Lowndes held to 165 yards and one offensive td. Something yall failed to do. I am sorry man….i know the best etam in camden history lost …i know it sucks. camden is not the best team in the state……grayson is and lowndes is the only team on their side the bracket in my opinion that has any shot to beat them. Colquitt county may just go to dome if they keep playing the way they have the last 2 weeks.

camden 74,,,,,,,,,,if it makes you feel better….i will pull for yall the entire playoffs to beat anyone yall play unless its against lowndes or valdosta. i want all reg 1 teams to take care of business. lowndes is 9-1 …as is camden. We lost to yall……and beat colquitt. Yall beat us but lost to colquitt. I for one feel lowndes is just as good as camden when lang and burgman play . All will be decided here shortly

The Camden/Colquitt game, more or less, is who would make the biggest mistake that beat themselves. It was not an artistic success, no matter how hard fought. Doesn’t mean to say that both teams aren’t good. Doesn’t mean that both offenses won’t work up big scores next Friday either. But little went right for either team until the 4th quarter. Remember that Grayson was severely criticized last year for their 14-7 victory over Brookwood, and both teams that day played BETTER, I’d say, than either Camden or Colquitt did last night. Just one of those nights. Bungle ball.
