Just arrived back home in Duval, which is Jacksonville from the
Camden vs Colquitt game, congrats to Colquitt on morale victory
I personally think Herron went conservative as usual with a slim lead
tonight it bit him once again, playing not to lose, Propst did exactly
what he said he would do, keep it close and give his team a opportunity
to win. I do believe that was a catch by Bessest on that last pocession by
Camden, just like last year the call didn’t go our way. Camden still will get
the HARDWARE…see you again soon Colquitt…

not so fast south Ga Grayson and Norcross very strong, Colquitt you have to win the first game and that will be a tuff task. Camden has a much easier start. and you guys play a cup cake season only three games a year at your level. Most gwinnett teams beat each other up like the SEC each season and that is why they a normally state champs. Herron had nothing to lose last nite, may have saved the hard knocks for the playoffs.

Saw Alpharetta’s Joshua Dobbs for the first time last night. Any reason UGA hasn’t offered him or Anthony Jennings? If Jennings sticks with LSU, he’s going to come back and bite them Dawgs, perhaps as early as next year when LSU rolls back on Georgia’s schedule. And the Dawgs better hope Dobbs sticks with his commitment to Arizona and doesn’t switch to say, Auburn, Florida or Tennesee or the same thing,s gonna happen. For that matter, former Wilcox County standout Nick Marshall, who Bobo had playing defensive back at UGA(!), is now lighting it up at quarterback at Garden City C.C. and could sign with an SEC team this Decemder and light the Dawgs up as well. It makes you wonder if Richt and Bobo really know what’s up. No wonder UGA hasn’t won a National Title since Hershel!

I always give credit where deserved. Colquitt comes to play when the stakes are high and the playoffs are here. I still believe the best teams on the block to knock off is Grayson and Norcross. Region 1 is a very good region, but I don’t see them getting the hardware. I also believe Colquitt will go further than Lowndes. Not impressed with Lowndes “street ball offense”. Colquitt has a good QB with very talented receivers.

From a “True-Long Standing Coffee Fan: What I saw last night against Valdosta was a Trojan team that could have cared less about playing, much less moving into the playoffs. Over radio crew has said all year that Pruitt needs at least next year to make difference….. I don’t agree. Anyone that watched that game last night knew that these Coffee player don’t care, would rather the season be over so they can concentrate on “basketball, girls and hanging out down at the block”…. Pruitt will be gone just like the “1 year stay at Warner-Robins”…. No coach can turn Coffee around…. ain’t gona happen! There is a poison in this community… These comments take nothing away from the game Valdosta played, but Coffee might as well stay in the locker room!

What people don’t understand is that we have the best in game coach in the region. He adjust on the fly and if we need a score then he has at least 4 or 5 plays to hit u with. We don’t have that 1 player that we can go to or break for long plays on consistant drives but yet we score with anyone when we have to.We don’t have a JJ Green type of player and we don’t have a running back like Norcross who can get lost quickly and our QB is not putting up numbers like Lassitter QB nor do we have the recievers like Lassitter but with the players and team we have in moultrie our coaches on offense and defense put our players in outstanding position to compete and have a chance in the end and thats all u can ask for as a fan.We don’t have one star we have a whole team and hats off to our defensive cord. for the great job of having the defense so prepared!!!!

Congrats to Colquitt, it wouldn’t have mattered who it would have
been last night in that type game, the selection of plays would
have still bitten us in the butt, Camden have too many weapons
to be playing the way they did last night, JJ Green should have been
used differently, especially in the passing game, I understand why
he wasn’t in the game on the last pass play, that way you couldn’t
key on him, just bad game planning. Propst keep breaking the momentum
of the game with his antics. I tell you, he does whatever it takes to win
you may not like it, but he got the Win….bottom line. Herron he may have
your number..I still love my Beloved Cats til the end, we live to fight

Most Colquitt fans aren’t crazy about our HC either but, like Spurrier, he manages to win while rubbing everybody the wrong way. WildHawg is right about his ability to react in-game…and his success can’t be denied…it does, however, come back to bite when you continually tick off and antagonize every team you play– creating enemies out of rivals….

Great game Colquitt! Coach Herron has to devise a different game strategy. Getting a slight lead and then continuing to play conservatively should not be his first option. Camden has multiple weapons on offense, yet Herron continues to hold them back. I can understand trying to win with minimal offense this time of year. But past experiences shows that most times it doesn’t work. Camden knows it will never get the calls from the Officials. So why not go into the game with wide open offensive game plan? Let the kids play for goodness sakes. Camden’s defense is not accustomed to playing that many snaps. I knew they would not be able to hold Colquitt out of the end zone for the entire game. Propst always has at least one play that will get a TD. He had a pretty good game plan. Colquitts QB is just as big or bigger than most of Camden’s defense. Using him as a runner was a great move. How he managed to run a 69 yard TD still amazes me! But all in all, it was a great game and last night was Colquitt’s night, Coach’s antics aside! Go Region 1, Go Camden County Wildcats!

@ K-man – I think you meant “LOSS”. But you are wrong about Camden not “needing to win.” Oh but it did. It was very important to Camden’s physc to continue the region win streak, and to run the tables on region 1 it’s first year as a member. Lowndes gave Camden a good game, and if the stars were lined up approvingly, Lowndes might have also defeated Camden. This ain’t Camden’s old region. But, most of us old timers ARE glad they are a part of it now.

Last week your coach was a man with class and after a lost he is being too conservertive. You guys really thought u guys were going to blow us off the map.I guess some off u forgot that at the beginning of the year we were ranked #2 in the state and we were in the USA today not Camden. Now someone knew we had some talent over here. This was the best i’ve seen our defense play in at least 4 years but if it’s because your coach was too conservative and our defense had nothing to do with Camden only scoring 12 points then tell coach Heron thanks

WILDHAWG2012….All of a sudden you’ve become a big time smack talker huh? I’ll tell, IMO, Coach Herron is too conservative on offense. He was the same way last week with Lowndes. No matter what the reason, you all still won. I for one, am hoping and looking forward to Camden and Colquitt meeting again in the playoffs. So, good luck and hope to see you all in the semis……….

If you go back through the post on most of the comment sections, nearly all of the Colquitt Fans thought Camden would win the game. Some thought Colquitt would get blown out, they were just hoping the game would be competitive. I am not taking anything away from coach Pruitt at Coffee, but their is something fundamentally wrong with the Coffee county football program. They have never seemed to be able to put it all together. They have some of the best athletes in the state, but I just think the players really don’t have a passion for football. They are building a million dollar weight room, so we will see what happens.
**** Interesting conversation I heard on local radio show from a Coffee county fan**********
The caller stated that coach Pruitt won all his state titles at a lower classification in Florida. They said he went to Warner Robbins for 1 yr and went 6-4. He had god teams at Fitzgerald, never won or even played for a state title. The caller really questioned was hiring him at Coffee substance or hype?
The caller said he was hired to quiet the people of Coffee county down because their was a loud uprising in Coffee about the coaching situation.
I have a few thought on this: 1. Valdosta went through the same thing when Rick Tomberlin was coach. The community was in an uproar about him. The CATS hired Rance Gillespie who has never won any titles at the 6A level, but he has restructured the program.
2. I think given the chance, Pruitt will rebuild that program and get them on the right track.

I am not making excuses for lowndes…..we lost but it is a FACT that our 2 best players and 1000 yds rushing and 14 tds combined was on the sidelines watching in street clothes. those boys return our punts and they ae on kickoff coverage team as well. It hurt us bad n that game,
new season starts next fri……..lowndes by far has a much tougher road to hoe than anyone else.
marietta actually has the hardest path to dome…..but after they are gone lowndes will

marietta has got me concerned……anytime you got to play a team that has a qb who is going to LSU…it had better get your attention.

74 == I have no need. You see, I am not a braggard. You are making excuses why Camden lost just as you accuse Bk of. Lovejoy is what it is. Playing sports at high levels in alll area’s. You never answered my questions about Camdens loss. You did blame the coach, though. And the officials. I don’t think you really want to give Colquit any credit, instead findind reasons in other area’s to lay blame. Just so you know and don’t forget, I never say Lovejoy will beat anyone or is better than anyone, so how could I “Back Pedal”. You will lose again.

Who is the FG kicker for Camden County, that young man has a good future ahead of him. That kick he missed the other nite would still be sailing had it not been for the net.I bet he can kick 60 yarders all day long.

Wouldn’t be surprised-,The Alanama recruit left as soon as the season ended and was arrested with his brother out of state. Your comments have nothing to support them. Digit speak for all if Region 1?

I really was surprised at the outcome of the Valdosta-Coffee game. I thought they would give us a much tougher game, given they had as much to play for as the Cats and they had done pretty well against Camden and Lowndes. But they were never in the game and had no chance of making any kind of comeback in the second half. That the stands on the home side were so sparsely filled says something about the lack of excitement over their football program.

sportsnut…..Just let it go man! In a couple of weeks, we’ll all know who’s who! We can go back and forth and it accomplishes nothing. You’ll never admit to the things you said leading up to the season and I’m not going to take the time to go back and try to find it. So please, just let it go!

So when kids go off to college and get in trouble, it’s the high school coach’s fault. Whew, glad that was pointed out to me. Makes sense

@Panther Pride – Looks to me that the joke might be on you. We won the region and y’all wound up a respectable third. I expect y’all to do well in the playoffs. Good Luck!

The new season starts fri. nite anybody can go on a run and win it all. North Cobb has me alittle concerned. They look like they have some good athletes. On film they remind me alot of Colquitt County and Brunswick. We will have to play our “A” game to win. I am also concerned about how the officiating will be for this game. I’m not saying the officials will be bad, but there is a difference in how the North and South Ga. officials call games. The GHSA has no consistency in the officiating amongst their officials.

Hey 74 == Nothing has happened for me to backtrack on. Lovejoy is still winning and are in the playoffs in 6A, so what is there that I could have said that I would be backtracking on at this point ?
