REGION 5 AAAAA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME…

FRIDAY NIGHT in “THE BONEYARD”…ALLATOONA vs. EAST PAULDING!!!

ALLATOONA at NORTH PAULDING last Friday night played a “scrappy” NORTH team that…I’ll give ALLATOONA credit…was overmatched!!! ALLATOONA was the better team!

ALLATOONA & EAST have played IDENTICAL schedules this year, all Region games! So no one can say one team had an easier way to an UNDEFEATED season.

SO it comes down to what it should be at playoff time…the TWO BEST teams in the REGION vying for the REGION TITLE! Welcome to the PLAYOFF GAME before the PLAYOFFS!!!

We do want to help our neighbors at ALLATOONA…when they settle in over on the visitor’s side and watch the first EAST kickoff don’t be waiting for any run off, those don’t happen when you play EAST…just tell the boys to go to the 20 and get ready! You will understand come Friday!

Then that “cute little” chant ya’ll were using at NORTH “Oh no you don’t, you can’t do that!” well get ready to revise it to…HOW’D THEY DO THAT…I GUESS THEY CAN!…or

WE CAME TO EAST, WE TEASED THE BEAST,..BUT LIKE ALL BEFORE US WE FAILED THE TEST, AS THE RAIDERS PROVED WHY THEY’RE THE BEST!!!

TICK…TICK…TICK…BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
GO RAIDERS!!!

OMG…that’s what sixth graders say…OMG. Marist, St. Pius, Lovett or GAC are going to win region championships. Storm the offices in Thomaston. It’s probably only that they recruit. OMG.

North Hall has AAA 7 wrapped up..

But the real champion will be crowned this Friday night in Buford..

Region 7-AAA

I believe North Hall will be able to pull it off in Buford on Friday. It’ll take their “A” game, but it can be done. Both Buford and North Hall have the same 10.3 “toughness” rating of their schedules and both lost a game on the field that shouldn’t have been lost (Jefferson and Gainesville) not to mention, their domination of Region 7-AAA as a whole. White County is the other team in the region that has a chance to take 2nd place with a Buford loss on Friday. They are staring at a 7-3 season and have a chance at a quarterfinal run in the post season. I think three 7-AAA teams have legitimate shots at making the Quarters this season. As it looks now, North Hall would probably see Peach Co in the 3rd round. The second place team would have to go through Carver, Columbus in the 3rd round and whoever takes third, would see Cartersville in the 2nd round barring an upset by the Canes in Week 1.

@ Raiderfan…

LOL! Just messin’ with em’ a bit…We both know this is the game we all knew was coming from WEEK 1 and ALLATOONA has a LOT to be proud of. They made the jump from AAA to AAAAA, had a great season to date and now gets to visit EAST in “THE BONEYARD”!!!

They look good, seem well coached and I’m sure this will be a fun game to watch!

Do I think they can beat EAST in “THE BONEYARD” in a game that decides the 2012 REGION 5 AAAAA Championship and the # 1 Seed for the Playoffs…not to mention having an UNDEFEATED Season…ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

After Friday night as the #2 Seed and the REGION 5 representative in the playoffs, I wish them much success BUT FRIDAY NIGHT they get a REALITY check!!!

TICK…TICK…TICK…BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Looks like a two team region but in the end there can only be one. East will beat the Allatoona tunas by at least two touchdowns in a high scoring game. It looks like a great match-up but it will turn out to be more like a bye week. Bye bye tunas!

I see the other “raider fan” is back. And yes he/she is correct, “cannon” can get folks fired up. I’ll bet the Raiders will be fired up fri. when toona comes to the “Boneyard” and it will be an experience the bucs won’t soon forget. But even though they come from only a few miles down 92 the ride home will seem a lot longer after they lose.

If I look at it correctly, Wheeler has the best chance of getting the number 4 seed IF they beat Cherokee..which they should and Lassiter wins and Milton wins…which they should. However, I have to say that with the exception of Lassiter and Milton, this is a very weak region. Walton will lose the first round game against however they play. Without Tyren…they are lost. Wheeler will lose the first round game as well.

It ain’t a clinch if they have to win to clinch – dummy.

@LTrojanFan: Tyren Jones is certainly a stud; however, DJ Smith has proven that there is more to the Raiders than Just #1. In fact, without Jones, the offense was more balanced and if Wilson is hitting his receivers (which he did against Etowah after Jones went down), I think the opposing defense is a little more on its heels and reacting rather than simply following #1 and trying to get him on the ground. In the Etowah game, the Raiders were down 10-0 in the second quarter. Jones went down but the Raiders then made their comeback. So there is actually no empirical evidence for the statement that “wihtout Tyren they are lost.”

The Raiders have not blown anybody out, but they have shown that they can do what it takes to win. Aside from an incredibly frustrating tendency to wait until the second quarter to show up, they are doing what it takes to win. Whether it is conditioning, or in game adjustments, or something else, Walton has managed to come out on top in many games that didn’t appear to be going their way in the early going. Given the extraordinary number of injuries this season I think they have done an impressive job of doing what it takes to put them in position.

Though I won’t argue that Walton has proven itself to be a “great” team by any stretch of the imagination (and I would certainly rather have Jones in the lineup than on the bench), I am not sure I would put Milton in a category above Walton or even characterize Walton as “weak.” Walton beat Milton and held Lassiter to its lowest total of the year (21-9 loss). Also, granted Lassiter beat both Milton and Walton, but assuming they are “weak” as your theory suggests, who then has Lassiter beaten that is anything other than “weak” (Hillgrove, Sprayberry, Kell, Cherokee, Woodstock, Wheeler, Roswell)? Lassiter’s best wins are against Milton and Walton. Milton has wins against Alpharetta and Johns Creek. Walton beat Brookwood and McEachern.

I am all for seeing Region 5AAAAAA do well in the playoffs, but the Trojans better be careful not to get too excited about their record and think that it alone will carry them through the playoffs.

Not as Good as Gwinnett

I can settle your argument…Lassiter, Milton and Wheeler are all weak! They would all be sub .500 if they played in region 7 or 8.
