Update: Walton’s Jones out 2-6 weeks with sprained knee

Walton running back Tyren Jones will miss two to six weeks with a Grade 1 sprain of an MCL (knee ligament).

Jones, who has committed to Alabama, left his game Friday in the first half and did not return in a 21-16 victory over Etowah. Jones returned to the field in the second half but did not play.

Walton has one regular-season game remaining before the state playoffs, which begin Nov. 16.

Jones is an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Super 11 pick. Jones rushed for seven yards on six carries in the game. He entered with 1,675 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns on 262 carries, more than 30 attempts per game.

Tyren has support from the true Bama fans regardless of the severity of the injury. Praying for a minor sprain. Saw the injury happen and it seemed to be more along the lines of MCL sprain as opposed to something more severe.

Roll Tide, Tyren…..

Sad to hear this. Hopefully next week off then back for the playoffs. Watch out for little Nicky Satan, he will pull offer if the injury is serious. Just ask another RB recruit how that worked out. But UGA would honor their word.

It almost has gotten to the point where before the ball is snapped, you start to wonder “who is going to get hurt on this play?”

Once again, lots of guys really stepped up. For the second week in a row, D.J. Smith was making plays all over the field on offense, defense, and special teams. He is turning out to be a really special player.

Tyren Jones, better sign with the dogs because satan of Alabama will cut you loose for an injury. Ask the running back from georgia last year. Satan i mean Saban is dirty.

If I was his dad, I would sit him for the rest of the year. High school football is not that important. He had a tremendous high school career! Its time to move on to bigger things! Besides, his team wont make past 1st round anyway. They just arent strong enough on defense.

I hate to say this, but this was expected. I was roundly criticized for saying Tyren was carrying the ball too much. Hope he mends quickly and completely….. :-)

I hope all goes well with T. Jones. I have watched him play over the last two years and haven’t seen a RB like him in many years. I know many of you are saying he should switch to GA, but in my opinion, he could be the guy immediately if he goes to South Carolina. Just a thought. They do have an opening with Lattimore out.

Great kid who I wish the best of luck with his recovery. Shame on the Walton coaching staff who ran him 30-40 times a game like a slave.

Walton – you deserve a quik exit from the playoffs.
