2-6 Loganville upsets # 8 Gainsville 46-41 and gets no mention! Down 41-20 at the half, Loganville shut down Gainsville in the second half and caused several turn overs that led to touchdowns culminating in the go ahead TD with 23 seconds remining in the game.

Looks like the big, all season long awaited match up between East and Allatoona is actually going to happen next Friday in the Boneyard. 18-0 between them, 2 high powered offenses, 2 stingy defenses…something has to give. Let’s go EAST!!!!!!!!

TICK…TICK…TICK…BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

OK ALLATOONA that’s the sound of the COUNTDOWN CLOCK…it’s officially ON & RUNNING!!!

This Friday Nov. 9th in “THE BONEYARD” UNDEFEATED EAST PAULDING 9 / 0 vs. UNDEFEATED ALLATOONA 9 / 0 for the REGION 5 AAAAA CHAMPIONSHIP and the # 1 SEED in the Playoffs!!!

A few interesting Stats to compare…

ALLATOONA has scored 338 / 116 1 OT game and 1 Shutout win…Avg. = 37.5 / 12.8 per game!

EAST PAULDING has scored 400 / 83 4 Shutout wins…Avg. 44.4 / 9.2 per game!

I’m not a real big fan of comparing stats but what makes this interesting is both teams have played the identical opponents so it is a fair comparison.

Several of us went to the NORTH PAULDING / ALLATOONA game last night and it was a good game to watch. It was closer than the score seems late in the 2nd quarter as it was 21 / 7 with NORTH on the goal line with 4 seconds left but no time outs. They chose to run up the middle and would have scored but ALLATOONA stopped the QB at the goal line…a footnote here refs missed a blatant facemask on the QB and NORTH should have got another play but the clock ran out and it was 21 / 7 at the half. That seemed to take the steam out of NORTH and the 2nd half was all ALLATOONA. Congrats to ALLATOONA for a real good 9 / 0 season to date!

So ALLATOONA went to overtime against HIRAM winning 20 / 17…Beat PAULDING COUNTY 36 / 0…went to SOUTH PAULDING and won 28 / 14…then went to NORTH PAULDING last night and won 56 / 21…

This week in “THE BONEYARD” you will find out it’s just different when you come EAST!!!

Love that “chant” your stands were doing whenever the “D” stopped NORTH’s offense…How did that go…”OH NO YOU DON’T, YOU CAN’T DO THAT”…cute…How bout you guys help us out this Friday with a slight revision to it…As the CANNON fires after each EAST TD and thru the smoke you see the scoreboard, how bout…

“OH YES THEY CAN…HOW’D THEY DO THAT???”…

@ 678…

First we didn’t sit with you last night we sat on the NORTH PAULDING side! Not that we couldn’t have, you have an UNDEFEATED 8 / 0 team playing a 6 / 2 team both of which will be in the playoffs and ya’ll can’t even FILL the visitors side to cheer for your team when the drive is only 10+ minutes…What’s up with that??? Visitor’s side was MAYBE 75% full!!!

I always support all the PAULDING teams EXCEPT of course when they play the RAIDERS!!! ALLATOONA has had a good year and to do it jumping from AAA to AAAAA makes it an even better accomplishment. I look forward to lots of years of very competitive games between ALLATOONA / NORTH PAULDING & EAST…the only thing that may stop that is ALLATOONA, simply by size of the school, may move up to AAAAAA in the future.

BUT you want NOISE…don’t worry you’ll get your wish come Friday night as “THE BONEYARD” will be ROCKIN’…From our HOME stands to the hillside, to the CANNON firing, to the cheerleaders, to the BAND you will KNOW where you are and…

“OH YES THEY CAN…HOW’D THEY DO THAT???”…will be your NEW CHANT!!!!

WELCOME “EAST”…It’s just different than the others!!!

@ SpartFart2010 Cannon is right, EAST does travel well. When East played @ North they had to turn people away because WE filled the place. I heard our endzone stands are going in this week but I guess we won’t need them this week. For those outside the area, ‘toona is on the county line. I mean on the county line. I haven’t seen E Paulding play but i know they have a big, physical, talented team. I’m guessing these 2 teams are mirror images. I can tell you this, I thought last years Allatoona team was really good, and they were, but this years team is better. Josh Bautista is a SOPHOMORE, and we have a kid who is a freshman who is just as good as him. We have 4 wide receivers who are fast and can catch it, and that’s why this years team is better–we can beat you on the ground or in the air as North found out. As far as that game being close, are you kidding Cannon??We did anything we wanted to all night on O, and don’t cry about some nonsense facemask call that you saw from the bleachers that’s laugable, if you watched the game you saw the Bucs getting hit with all kinds of mystery penalties…the difference in stats between the Bucs and the Raiders is simple–Coach Varner plays his young kids alot when he gets a lead and they give up some points–and that will make us better next year. Last thing-I’ve been here all year talking Bucs football, and I’ll be here either way next Saturday am- win or lose. It’s going to be a close game, but i’ll say my Bucs by 7 or more. Too much Gary Varner for yall. Just ask Scott Jones.

ALLATOONA NEVER PUT IN THEIR JV FRIDAY NIGHT. WATCH THE FILM AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. Allatoona has a good football team. Their defense was exposed Friday night. East Paulding will have their way with Allatoona. North Paulding has a new staff and should be very proud of the season they have had to this point. Good things are to come for this program. The running back for Allatoona had a good night. He should be good next year for Osborne when he has to go back to his home school. The one thing I can say is that from the top down, Allatoona has no class at all. Better enjoy this year for as long as it will last.

I never said EAST doesn’t travel well, because they do. What I said is Cannon always wants to throw it up in people’s faces that their side was not full; I mean how juvenile is that.. Hey, Toonaville. Your right everyone deserves a second chance. Ask Michael Vick. He did the crime and did the time. He has made the most out of his second chance but not before paying the price. The only thing this guy is being taught is breaking the law is not a problem when you are an athlete. Unfortunately, whenever these types of things occur misfortune seems to follow for those who reward this type of behavior. Also, how is this fair the player(s) that will have to stand on the sideline because this guy is taking his spot? That pretty much is a slap in the fact to the others on the team. Thanks for your hard work all summer and season long but we no longer need to you. I think this whole situation is extremely sad 1) The young man learns nothing. 2) We are setting a bad example of the other athletes. 3) That winning is the ONLY thing that matters. 4) No matter how hard you work your always dispensable.

@ SpartFart2010…

“Cannon always wants to throw it up in people’s faces that their side was not full; I mean how juvenile is that”

YES!!! YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT that I throw this in people’s faces…These kids are out there busting their butts, training in the early Spring and thru the HOT summer days getting ready for these games. They miss other activities to do what they enjoy, have spent YEARS to get to this point in their lives and many go thru all this only to get to watch from the side lines as the starters play most of every game.

For them to go thru all this and then look up into the stands and see a handful of dedicated parents, the band and the band supporters sitting in a half full side is not what they deserve. EAST has played many games thru the years when we had MORE fans in our VISITORS side than the Home team had on the HOME side!!! That was my point and if this offends anyone I am sorry! So come out…support your team, WIN OR LOSE…I’ll be more than happy to stop posting about crowd size!

“Cannon is nothing but a “hype man” and does a good job at it, but truly knows jack squat about football other what can be read in the stat sheets and history books..”…

Fine…as I said in another post many things were VERY apparent in your game Friday night against NORTH…I am sure they will be both EXPLOITED and EXPOSED this Friday…I’ll put one comment here…don’t expect your QB to have ANYWHERE near the time he had against NORTH, the EAST “D” will be on him ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

Wolfpack-Allatoona did put the back ups in on defense in the 2nd half for a few possessions–i know the kids, and i know who starts and who doesn’t. This takes nothing away from your season–you have a good team and one on the build, i think next years game will be a good one. But to say we were exposed on Friday night? We gave up 27 points to a spread offense that is pretty well run, and we still beat you by 29 points. Somehow we don’t feel exposed. That said, Josh Bautista is not “an Osborne kid”, he lives in the Allatoona district and he’s played in our program since the 8th grade. ON top of that, we have kids behind him who are equally as capable. Allatoona is stacked with talent and we are not going away any time soon. See y’all Friday night.

Just a thought

November 5th, 2012

Putting in second string for a few possessions is not an indication of backing off. Instead, it is the coach rotating players in in order to have the appeareance of such. However, you all wanted to make a statement and you did. No need in trying to cover it up with syrup. Sounds just like someething Reid would have done. No shame in it but don’t back down when called on it.

I missed my first EAST game in 6+ years to come watch ALLATOONA play NORTH. ALLATOONA was one of the few teams in the area I had never saw and call it curiosity I never said ANYTHING but positive things about ALLATOONA in my post. I did comment on the crowd size, I did say NORTH was still in the game at halftime and “by the score they were”…in reality they had no chance of catching ALLATOONA at that point.

As to the facemask non-call on the last play…it absolutely happened, the NORTH player was about to go in for a TD and he was stopped and you could see his head spin around…BUT was it a game changing call…NO…should it have been called absolutely! Given one more play with no time on the clock would NORTH have scored…??????? Who knows! I just hate to see those type calls missed and I ALWAYS comment on them!

Just a Thought, don’t really get what you are saying..so Gary Varner put in a few well placed subs in order to make the 27 points that North scored not look so bad?? How bout North has a good team and scored some points, but when it was 42-14 in the 3rd quarter we put subs in to get some experience? That’s reality. Not backing off of anything, Allatoona dominated North offensively, and your offense was able to move the ball some and score some. It is what it is. I think Friday night will be a good, close game and could probably go either way.

@ bucfan, Wolfpack assumed you where talking about Fridays game, no we did not sub down in this game and basically it was not to run the score up. I have did my research as well and East has run the score up o several opponents and when looking at their box scores their starters have played the majority of their games. No problem with this because every coach does what they think they need to in order for their team to be ready for a game such as the one thats coming up. I am not a big fan as to comparing teams because matchups are everything in this sport. We are two totally different teams and Friday Night at “the bone yard” will be about heart because talent is plentiful on both sides. As I admire your love and spark for East, I have been in and around the program for 18 years and remember the days of going 2-38 in 4 years.. As I was a member of that team.. Some maybe different but I never looked in the stands and said crap there is nobody here, but in turn looked to the man next to me that put in all the blood sweat and tears through 3 a day’s and 2 a day’s and so on and said lets do this, not worried why nobody was there, I understand better than most on that aspect.
Fans follow the team thats winning for the most part at all levels. You will always have that loyal group such as parents and families in high school. College you have Alumni as well as family. NFL seaason Ticket Holders.. but the average bear that fills the empty seats are gonna stay home or go somewhere else where the weather is better so to speak..
