AAAA roundup

By Score Atlanta

Lithonia 8, Redan 6: Frank Turner threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Micah Stewart in the third quarter for host Lithonia’s only touchdown. On the 2-point conversion, Clark Jones Jr. ran it in to take an 8-0 lead. Redan threatened to tie in the fourth quarter with a 2-point try of its own, but defensive end David Johnson, a South Carolina commit who also had two sacks, made a tackle for loss to preserve the lead.

Marist 24, Chamblee 0: Visiting Marist controlled the pace of the game against previously unbeaten Chamblee, led by a 19-yard score from Griffin King. Marist also got touchdowns from Patrick Anhut, on a 15-yard pass from Myles Willis, and Steven Wallace on a 2-yard run. With the win, Marist takes over sole possession of first place in Region 6-AAAA from Chamblee.

Stockbridge 35, Locust Grove 0: Stockbridge jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and coasted from there to defeat Locust Grove. Trenton Earl rushed for two touchdowns, Malik Bryant added one on the ground and receiver Maetron Thomas took an end-around 70 yards for another score. Host Stockbridge also got a fumble return for a touchdown by Robert Beecham.

The Creek layed a beat down on the Carrollton Trojans last night. We hung with them in the first quarter and then it was over. Too much speed and size! We could see them again in the playoffs, of course, but teams will struggle with them.

Burke County – We remember Gator Green from when he was a freshman. I’m sure he’s that much better now.

I don’t really understand your post as I think I said that Creek beat us handily. Not sure how it looked on TV but don’t think Creek’s defense isn’t big and fast. I haven’t seen Burke but I know you are fast so should be a good one if it comes to that in the playoffs.

Go Trojan, stop it. Just stop it. Stop sugar coating the situation at carrollton. Teague didn’t plan for sandy creek. Numb nuts does the same thing every time we’re in a big game. He hides his head in the sand. Sandy Creek has a head coach. That’s the difference in the game.

Carrollton 85-you may be forgetting that there are a LOT more transfers in metro areas than seperate communities like Carrollton. You play the personel you have and do the best you can.I point out that both Camden&Lowndes run the same offense. However I feel that you cannot win many of the big games without a passing attack go open things up for the run.At least no one is blaming the officials.

Signs of being scared (or just ignorant):

1. Writing in all caps.
2. Naming a bunch of players no one has ever heard of.

Most high school on these blogs are represented by a few real football fans. Unfortunately for the good people of Burke County, most of their frequent bloggers are intellectually challenged homers.

Lets not jump on the number 1 fan. He’s very excited about BC’s program. You will see more BC fans post later in the season, usually the playoffs. Sandy Creek looks really good. I knew after watching the first quarter that Sandy would eventually dominate. Let’s not forget about Marist. They have a dominate defense and have a couple of stars. As far as Burke County, I think they also have a good team and have a lot to prove. They are defending champions playing in a very weak region. If everything goes according to plan BC and SC will meet early in the playoffs. Whoever wins that game will win the state championship.

Carrollton 85 – I don’t always agree with Coach Teague but did you expect him to plan for a spread attack shoot out against a team with 8 – 10 SEC recruits? Unless you haven’t noticed, out speed is limited at best this year. The Broddy / Jones / Barnes / Brown group could have easily run with SC. Not this year’s group.

I’d say the caliber of the athletes was the real difference. We couldn’t handle the size nor the speed of the lines (either side) or the speed kids.

I’m used to the “Fire Coach Teague” rants around here. Sometimes I wish they would so that when we went 2 – 8 with a team of slow, small kids that those same folks could enjoy those games.

Burke Co 1 fan… Sandy Creek’s defense was shabby?? Carrollton was averaging almost 40 pts a game and we held them to 7 pts. Carrollton’s only TD came on a punt return. Shows what you know. Keep typing in caps and talking out the side of your neck. You humor me. By the way where is burke Co??? Until last year I had never even heard of y’all.

Go Trojans-you will always hear calls for firing the coach when the team doesn’t win them all.A coach uses the talent he has.Carrollton has been blessed with many good athletes over the years but you cannot win them all. Some people evidently chose the wrong profession-they should have been coaches then they could go undefeated evey year.

I watch most of that Sandy Creek/Carrollton game. I truly believe that Carrollton beat themselves up early and often. From the safety, if I remember that correctly, to stupid penalties and mistakes. However, if both teams goes to the quarterfinals it will be a great matchup. The Bears will take on anybody and everybody. The only thing that might give an edge to either team is WHERE the game will be located.

Did you really just post that burke Co is the second largest county East of the Mississippi River???

I just googled burke Co because like I said until last year I had never heard of burke. I lived in Florida for a few years. Florida is East of the Mississippi River just so you know. burke county probably wouldn’t even crack the top ten for Florida’s list of largest counties. There is no way burke county is the second largest county East of the Mississippi River. Not a chance at all. Let’s forget football for a second. I just want all the burke Co fans who post on here to know that I find all of you equally amazing and incredibly humorous.

Overall I think both Sandy and Burke are good teams. However I think Sandy has more talent than BC. Sandy has maybe 8 D1 recruits and I don’t know if BC has any (going off recruiting sites). Yes BC has speed but so does Sandy. I can’t say who will win because they’re not even scheduled to play so I will hold my prediction.

Obviously you weren’t talking about population. I’m also talking about land mass smart guy. I know burke county has to be densely populated and backwoods since I had never heard of it until last year. Are all the people from burke county mentally challenged or is it just the big mouths who post on here?

By the way… I’m not a Florida.
