There were some hard hitting, head crackin going on tonight!! Mostly by the Vikings lol…I bet Camden knows Tre Jackson after tonight’s game!! I thought J.J. Green was gonna run wild on us?? He was in the back field too often tonight!! Our defense wasn’t hearing that running wild and lettin loose on us!! We shut that sh*t down!! LOL….but seriously though, Camden has a great DEFENSE!! But everyone knows that!! That’s Camden!! We do too!! I’m not even mad about the loss. We were without our best players and slowed down Camden’s high powered offense!! That’s something they can build on heading into the playoffs. Congrats Camden on the Region Title!!…. We have two weeks to heal and prepare for the playoffs…Couldn’t have came at a better time….

Since we played Thursday night, my wife and I decided to go to the Brookwood – South Gwinnett game. It was a barn burner for sure! South won in the last 2 minutes 42-38. The interesting thing was I did not see a lot of basic football. It was big plays or nothing for the most part. In the first quarter, the South quarterback had all night and tomorrow too while dropping to throw! It was crazy! Brookwood has speed, speed, speed when their backs can break loose. R8 just got a little clearer but I sure would like South to beat Parkview next week. After watching South the past three weeks against the Rams, Archer and now Brookwood, I think they have a good chance. Certainly not a sure thing because Parkview is a good team but I will be surprised if the Panthers roll over the Comets.

Some of these comments are stupidest i ever read on this blog, anybody that is a true follower of high school football and knows the history between Camden and Lowndes. Expects a low scoring game between two good defensive teams and both that runs the wing t. Both teams play conservative on offense when they have a lead. And all the people from Gwinnett that is talking this nonsense when Grayson is a mirror image of Camden, both play the same exact style of football. And sportnuts you need to check your history, see how many wing t teams have won state championship since 2000. And if i recall correctly just last yr a coach from camden co took Tucker to state title game and defeated hmmm somebody in GA dome running that same wing t offense and with the same defensive scheme that Camden runs. Talk back to me if or when you face Lowndes & Grayson in the playoffs. You be hoping that parkview beats south gwinnett next week. Lovejoy might beat one wing t team but i guarantee you they wouldn’t beat both.

Camden has the state fooled. Many saw what I saw. I am not impressed. The same goes for Lowndes. No need to say more. The entire country saw that and many in Georgia agree with me. They did not look like champions, neither of them.

@ Observer == I was referring to all the people watching on ESPNU. @ truth teller == I am not hating. We have this debate about who is better than whom and how football is played and we talk all things football. If you do not understand this, disregard my post and move on. I happen to know football,. I just like to see plays made by the offense. Long ago, the concept of passing was instituted in football and I think it is an essential part of the game. I take nothing away from the status they have achieved as good football programs. I have seen better teams this season. That’s all. I am sure others feel the same way. Some have expressed that on this blog. To me, both leave a lot to be desired as far as a champion this year is concerned. Don’t try to put me into any category. I Won’t Fit. I am just a fan calling it like I see it. After last nights game,. There is no hate, just looking at things differently. Any player that has a chance to watch the game from last night is going to say “We can beat them”. Don’t think for one minute that this is not happening. Confidence is soaring among the region 4 teams, or it should be. For those that can pass, such as Alpharetta, a good feeling will accompany them when it all starts.

Maybe the game everyone wanted to see last year and should have seen……Camden vs Grayson, will happen this year? Camden…..big, powerful, strong, quick, fast, disciplined, confident, patient, well coached. Nothing new, same old Jeff Herron football. I like what I see. Hats off again to the Lowndes defense…….a very strong unit. Although the final score was 24-7, this game was never in doubt from the start…..by Elementary’s observation.

HEy Sportsnut….You might have seen teams that you thought were better because they were playing against lesser defenses. Bring your great Spread Attack against a real defense and you will be begging to be able to run the ball like the machines of Camden and Lowndes. You can watch the televison all day long and it does not equate to playing Camden or Lowndes. So until you line it up with a real team you have no idea what you are talking about. I kind of compare it to watching a pro golfer swing on television. It looks nice and anybody can do it but go to a pro tournament and see just how fast a pro golfer swings the club and you will get an idea of just how fast Camden and Lowndes can play.

This is not Golf. I admire your enthusiasm but be real, that was not very convincing to anyone but Camden fans. Many Lowndes fans will say that had they had their other players, things may have been different. This could very well be true. Camden did what they had to do to win and Lowndes was no push over. It is just that I have seen better football played this season by other teams. They are going to have trouble should they fall behind in the playoffs against some teams. Their passing game is almost non-existant. They will need it. Region 4 will put the ball in the air and some do it well. Fall behind and you may be in for a long night especially if you want to constantly run the football. Can they throw when needed ? Not very much evidence to show they can. Running is their bread and butter. Stop the run, stop them.

Once again, Colquitt held Lovejoy to 7 points and we are the 4th seed. Sportsnut may have taken over BK for lamest poster on here. 7 points sportsnut. You may can score a few more in Camden bc I’m not sure on their secondary. But believe you me, both of those teams would run Lovejoy off the field.

Gwinnett teams will find out soon enough that we play defense down here. Is there even a good defense up there besides Grayson? And we scored 31 on them the last two times we met.

Lowndes guys, do you expect Colquitt to be able to throw on Camden?

TICK…TICK…TICK…BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

OK ALLATOONA that’s the sound of the COUNTDOWN CLOCK…it’s officially ON & RUNNING!!!

This Friday Nov. 9th in “THE BONEYARD” UNDEFEATED EAST PAULDING 9 / 0 vs. UNDEFEATED ALLATOONA 9 / 0 for the REGION 5 AAAAA CHAMPIONSHIP and the # 1 SEED in the Playoffs!!!

A few interesting Stats to compare…

ALLATOONA has scored 338 / 116 1 OT game and 1 Shutout win…Avg. = 37.5 / 12.8 per game!

EAST PAULDING has scored 400 / 83 4 Shutout wins…Avg. 44.4 / 9.2 per game!

I’m not a real big fan of comparing stats but what makes this interesting is both teams have played the identical opponents so it is a fair comparison.

Several of us went to the NORTH PAULDING / ALLATOONA game last night and it was a good game to watch. It was closer than the score seems late in the 2nd quarter as it was 21 / 7 with NORTH on the goal line with 4 seconds left but no time outs. They chose to run up the middle and would have scored but ALLATOONA stopped the QB at the goal line…a footnote here refs missed a blatant facemask on the QB and NORTH should have got another play but the clock ran out and it was 21 / 7 at the half. That seemed to take the steam out of NORTH and the 2nd half was all ALLATOONA. Congrats to ALLATOONA for a real good 9 / 0 season to date!

So ALLATOONA went to overtime against HIRAM winning 20 / 17…Beat PAULDING COUNTY 36 / 0…went to SOUTH PAULDING and won 28 / 14…then went to NORTH PAULDING last night and won 56 / 21…

This week in “THE BONEYARD” you will find out it’s just different when you come EAST!!!

Love that “chant” your stands were doing whenever the “D” stopped NORTH’s offense…How did that go…”OH NO YOU DON’T, YOU CAN’T DO THAT”…cute…How bout you guys help us out this Friday with a slight revision to it…As the CANNON fires after each EAST TD and thru the smoke you see the scoreboard, how bout…

“OH YES THEY CAN…HOW’D THEY DO THAT???”…

I agree with sportsnut. Camden and Lowndes are good football teams but highly beatable. I love it when someone puts your teams in proper perspective and you guys want to tell everyone that they don’t know football. The truth is that you guys are stuck in the ’80’s as it relates to football. There is a reason why college football and the pros abandon the wing T. If you guys don’t want to gear the truth go to the Ga Vent where all you blowhards can lie to each other and tell each other how great Sourh Georgia football is

@ CamdenFan == Machine like is not good in football. It is too predictable. If I know you are going to run, I play the run. Next play, run. Next play, run. At some point you are going to need to pass and will you be able to? We may not get a chance to play either of these teams. They may be gone. I hope Lowndes has a healthy team if and when we play them. I have told them coming to us without your best will not be good. Stop worring about Lovejoy and concentrate on Region 4, who will test your Db’s. Hillgrove, McEachern, North Cobb and Marietta looks like the four and I am sure once they watch last nights game, they are feeling like they have hope. Hope is a powerful force.@ Unimpressed == They are so stuck on themselves, they don’t believe anyone can play with them. We ran the wing T back in the early 2000’s and played against it when it was popular. It is however old and slow. You are right. When someone gives them an assesment they don;t like, they criticize. You must, I repeat must have a passing game to compete when the field narrows or you face a team built to stop the run.

@sportsnut The Wing Tee is slow and old huh. Hmmmmmm, the last time I checked 7 out of the last 10 championships (including last year) in the states HIGHEST classification have come from the teams that run a Wing Tee.Camden 3/Lowndes 3/Grayson 1. When these three teams went through the playoffs, they faced teams who threw the ball 80% of the time and destroyed them.

The bottom line is that if you have a good program and you execute your gameplan you will have success.

@Cannon

North gave up 650 yards of offense to Allatoona and Alkatoona called the dogs of for the entire 4th qtr. the halftime score was actually 28-7 and if not for two first half interceptions thrown by Allatoona (1 in the Norths end zone ), it may have been a lot worse. It was an absolute physical butt whooping.

@ All Region 1 posters == I give up. You win. Your teams are the best teams and we, Lovejoy, or any one else are nowhere near your level. We can’t compete with you. No one can. Last night I saw two very good football teams. The stadium was jammed full and it was on national TV. I had my wings and my adult beverage and watched as the #1 team in Georgia play a spirited game of football. They were the visitors but may have supplied at least half the crowd of over 12,000 die-hard high school football fans. What I witnessed was a struggle of epic proportions. The unstoppable force against the immovable object. This game was all that and more. The host team lost but they can take solice in the fact that they were without their two best players and they will live to fight another day. They were game in every way. A few mistakes were made but they were by a young player with not that much experience playing due to the absence of one of the star players. This cost them dearly. There it is. You win. Now I am going to watch the World Ping-Pong Championships. Should be exciting.

Yeah I believe you are correct at 28 / 7 but if (if,,LOL) NORTH had made the TD at the end of the half and then came out in the 2nd half and scored they could have still made a game of it…But you are correct it was a BUTT WHOOPIN’ and I hope I conveyed that in my post…NORTH had NO answer for ALLATOONA’s speed.

But I DO NOT see EAST giving the ALLATOONA QB anywhere near as much time as NORTH did and their line will not be able to stop Kamani. If the Coach will turn Mitchell and the offense loose EAST will SHOCK ALLATOONA!

@ Lovejoynut == If you watch that game, you will see Lovejoy beat Colquit all over the field. Period. Watch the penalties. Watch Lovejoys big plays. Offensively and Defensively. Good game in the first half. 0-0. When Colquit scored twice in the third quarter, they thought it was over. Lovejoy scores to open the 4th. and the flags really fly. A 30 yard unsportsmanlike penalty on one player for one foul. A wide out being called for ineligible man down field. Two (2) touchdowns called back on phantom calls. Unsportsmanlike called because Zane Fields, our DE, hit Cole Seagraves so hard, they felt @they had to. Watch and see for yourself. @ Colquit Fan == I don’t bash your region. It is just when someone disagrees with you as strongly as I do, it is a problem for you. You and the rest always refer to that game as though we did not get any better during the year as you claim you do. Remember, Colquit always start slow and gets better. So did we. Also, at the time, I think they were ranked too. They also began the year as a co-favorite with Camden and Grayson to win it all. Or have all of you forgotten about that. We moved on and progressed. They did not. I will only point out the facts and they are that Camden and Lovejoy are the highest scoring teams in 6A and they are also the lowest scoring defenses in 6A. @ Lovejoynut == The touchdowns called back were not both in the 4th quarter. Not sure when they occured.

Sportsnut, I think that the Camden fans can say that they have a state title in the last 3 years. 2009. 2012 has yet to be decided. I think that the issue is what happens on the scoreboard. I wathced the Camden and Lowndes game, with the exception of the penalties, it was apretty good defensive game. When you are playing a team that has the same skill set as you, it is difficult to move around the field. I also saw two coaches, coaching a careful game. Yes Lowndes did not have Burgman or Lang, but they still had the talent and skill set on the field. That is why there are 11 players on offense and 11 players on defense. Lowndes showed that they could play competitively without Lang and Burgman, and Camden showed that they could play with an injured QB. Both of these teams will be hard on whoever they face in the playoffs. Unless teams have played one another, we all can get on here and say what we want, that is why it is called a blog. How you view a game is just that, how you see it. The title is decided in Dec, the playoffs start next week. This will be a good year for Ga playoffs. I don’t recall whena passing team won the highest classification when it was AAAAA. Parkview was primarily a running team with a grat defense, Lowndes the same, Camden the same, Brookwood and Grayson as was Peachtree Ridge, Roswell shared with PTR, they were primarily a passing team then. Teams have to adjust to what the other teams are doing. Passing teams have to adjust to rushing teams and vice versa. Good thing about the playoffs, one and done. The playoffs is about a well rounded team. Your opinion is just that, your opinion.

@ Hiughschoolfootballfan == You make my point for me. We do it all. Check it out. So what happens when you play a team with more people at the skill positions than you have ?
