Well say what you want about the HIRAM / EAST game…It was a “PINK OUT” night at HIRAM and both sides showed there spirit in support of this cause.

EAST was coming off a BYE week and had yet to play a team that had really tested their “D”, IT SHOWED they looked VERY sluggish at the start and the question of “could HIRAM score on EAST” was settled right at the start as HIRAM broke of a LONG run and put up 6 before folks were barely settled in the stands! They missed the extra point and led 6 to 0…the first team to score against EAST since the opening game with NORTH 5 weeks ago!

That seemed to wake EAST up and they drove back to go ahead for good 7 / 6 with a touchdown of their own. EAST put up several more TD’s and HIRAM had a field goal for the score to get to 28 / 9 at one point. A lot of HIRAM fans started to leave thinking another “blow-out” was in store BUT sloppy play on EAST part giving up the ball twice on turnovers gave HIRAM quick scores and with plenty of time left the score had closed to EAST 35 HIRAM 30!!!

SUDDENLY we had a BALLGAME!!! HIRAM has a big strong QB and #24 is just plain FAST!!! Between these two guys they made the EAST “D” miss all night!! If #24 got the corner HE WAS GONE! FAST!!!

The ref’s had several situations where they made mistakes none of which were game changers, on a HIRAM breakout run where #24 made his moves and was gone for a long TD the Ref had the flag in his hand ready to call an OBVIOUS holding but put the flag back in his pocket…????

Later in the game the refs game HIRAM two (2) chances to go for it on 4th down as they lost track of the downs and NEVER changed from 3rd to 4th until AFTER HIRAM ran the play…by the scoreboard and the chain marker it stayed at 3rd but in reality it was the 1st 4th down. They didn’t make it and ran a 2nd 4th down play!!!

Then late in the game east scored a TD…from about the HIRAM 25 / 30 yard line…Flag from a ref on the far side (HIRAM side) play called back, EAST scores AGAIN on the same play TD…play called back again (same Ref)…LOL! 3rd try EAST scores again!! This time no flag!!!

HIRAM kept coming back but the EAST “D” finally got a turnover as they intercepted and returned for a TD, EAST needed a game where they had to play 4 quarters and hopefully this will be a good game for EAST to look back at as they prepare for ROME this coming week in “THE BONEYARD”…

The shutout streak is over for the “D” but a win is a win…
the RAIDERS are still UNDEFEATED at 6 / 0!!! and the “D” is till averaging a VERY respectable 7.8 pts per game!!!

TICK…TICK…TICK…BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
GO RAIDERS!!!

@ bucfan…

There is an OLD movie about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor…and at the end the Japanese commander, Admiral Yamamoto, is quoted as saying…

“I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve”!!!

Think of the HIRAM game as EAST awakening…and as “RealisticFan” said…

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!!!

TICK…TICK…TICK…BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
GO RAIDERS!!!!

I would just like to thank all of the true TROJAN FANS for staying until the final horn last night!!! With 32 seconds left in the game a large portion of Trojan fans had given up on our Trojans! However, when they heard all of the hoopla when Derrick Herrin ran an 80 yard punt return for a Trojan victory, they wanted to come back up the steps and get in on all the excitement. I wish they would have just gone on home. It was the the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat in reverse for Trojan fans. Sure loved seeing those Purple Huricanes being sent packing and the Golden Isles big mouth eat their words!!!!!!! GO TROJANS 27 TO 24 OVER FITGERALD :) :) :) :)

Mistermak, looks like buzz was late to the party last night, but made it by the fourth quarter. Seriously though, get over it. Nobody is talking about anymore, it was two weeks ago.

Colquitt Fan is trying to play it off like the stealing signs thing was no big deal to them. It was all they could talk about. They felt it was the reason they lost to Lowndes. Their coach wanted to say it was the reason they lost to Grayson last year. Coquitt isn’t going anywhere this year. Deal with it Moultrie.

It was a big deal, but it’s over dawg. And everybody gave Lowndes their props including coaching. And where did anybody blame the Grayson game on that? He said he was disappointed, that’s blaming? Now you’re just making up stuff, not surprising though. That’s the norm on this board in regards to Moultrie. Colquitt stays in your heads obviously.

@bucfan What rock did you just crawl out from under? Haven’t seen you posting here until now. I believe your team allowed WOODLAND!!! WOODLAND!!! to score 20 on them and New Manchester to put up 13. Those two teams have a combined score of 0 against East. So don’t go getting all excited because Hiram, a good team, scored on a few E.P. mistakes. That was a wake-up call to the Raiders and I’m sure you won’t be seeing that again. Nov. 9 is not to far off so go find a heavier rock and get ready for the storm that your going to get blasted with at the “Boneyard”. The boom you will keep hearing won’t be thunder it will be the sound of the cannon blasting away Allatoona’s dreams of a region title.

I’m not saying Colquit Fan is a bit sensitive but it appears that by his post he might be. Sure would be disapointed in him if it was true.

Colquit Fan good job. Just trying to give you a little taste of what Grayson so called non accusation tasted like from Probst. :-)

Region 1 is going to punish the state this year in the playoffs.

Valdosta is starting to come around along with you guys.

Going to be fun.

Keep stirring the pot mistermak. I love watching Colquitt Fan squirm and try to alibi for his hideous coach. As with all teams, I have noting but respect for the Colquitt players, but nothing but disdain for Propst. The article in the Valdosta Times where Propst said our coach is a “blatant liar” still makes my blood boil! Everytime I glance at that 66 page report to the Hoover Bd of Edu by their law firm in Birmingham, and read all the lies he told and all the things he did wrong, makes me wonder again and again why Colquitt County would place winning a football game over hiring a respectable man as their coach.

Has ANYBODY heard an update on the Coffee tight end who was air lifted to Savannah Friday night? All Lowndes fans and followers are praying for him to recover. I heard yesterday he made it through surgery and possibly had feelings in his extremities. Hope that is correct.

YO, did you get to see the game? I read last week what you said about Lowndes giving out of tickets before you got to the window. Hope you did friend! It WAS a Classic! Come to the Holiday Inn Tuesday night to the Lowndes Coach’s show and see the film. I’ll ask McPherson to make some extra copies in case anyone wants one. We usually have 25 or so players come, and it’s fun talking with them .It starts about 6:45 and we’re out at 8:00pm. Hope to see you there.
