@titletowm USA naw you can’t base that off one game. I think the Camden lowndes game will be a good. Hopefully neither team will just run away with it

Just Rammin……It’s going to be a tough row to hoe for everyone come playoff time. Camden will be challenged by some of the spread teams. But if both teams make it that far, it should be an awesome game! With Camden winning of course……..

Coffee’s sophomore tight end Jalen Wilkerson Severely fractured his neck in the second quarter of Coffee’s 42-26 scorefest win over Brunswick. The game was stopped for about 30 minutes as they brought in an orthopedic surgeon from the hospital to immobilize Jalen. He has been airlifted to Savannah for emergency surgery. A lot of people in Coffee County have dampened enthusiasm for the sport tonight. Please pass the word for good thoghts and prayers to guide the surgical teams as they work to give Jalen a normal life to live and walk and fall in love and have all of the simple activities we take for granted.

Praying for Jalen also! Now, back to the games….OMG!! You can not pay me enough to be a high school football referee, but, this was THE WORST game I have witnessed in a long, long time. The refs gifted Rockdale County. Sure, the Luella Lions could not get anything going in the third quarter, but, come on! Our coach did not complain about the band from Rockdale, the referee himself told them to stop playing, not once, not twice, but, three times. Here is the rule from the GHSA officiating rules book:
G. GHSA State Adoptions:
Bands are not to play during live-ball situations. NOTE: this includes the situation in
which there is no timeout and the teams are in the huddle.
a. If a team claims that band noise is interfering with communication, the Referee shall
give a warning to one or both head coaches who will instruct the band(s) to stop
playing.
b. If there is a second offense by a warned school’s band, an unsportsmanlike conduct
penalty will be imposed against the same school’s team (not the team’s head coach).
c. The Referee will always wait for a complaint before issuing a warning. The Referee did not wait for a complaint, he called it himself. Then had to call it a second time. Then a third time. That should have been a 15 yard penalty against Rockdale County, well, 30 if he had called it right. What a disgrace. That was not the only bad call. Rockdale County scored on a pass, or did they????? It was dropped and then scooped up and they signaled t.d. WTH???? Terrible calls!!!!!!

Regarding Lowndes/Valdosta game.
Like the game against Colquit when you see the offensive stats you will know the game should have never been that close.
Lowndes has got to do a better job of finishing on offense against the good teams.
Lowndes should have been up by 10-14 points at end of first half the way they dominated yet came away with only 3.
As a Valdosta fan stated after the game, the Cats played their best game of the year tonight and we
would not have expected any thing differently. A week off to work on their mistakes and lets face it
they will get up for Lowndes like no other team.
Cats played a great game tonight.
Awesome interception for big defensive lineman #99 for Valdosta on a screen pass. Just a great play
on what appeared was going to be a good play set up for Lowndes. Being a Lowndes fan I was actually glad for the kid it was such a great play even though it was an interception for Valdosta.
When it was all said and done.
Just like Colquit game Lowndes put the nail in the coffin when it was time to do so and showed some fortitude in taking the game over in the 4th quarter.
Lowndes qb Stephenson completed every pass he threw tonight and had a great night.
Lowndes #21 Burgman (mvp of game) had no telling how many yards rushing tonight. just a fantastic
game both running and catching the tying score.
3 years in a row now the classic has lived up to it’s billing and all 3 have been nail biters with the visiting team winning on each occassion.
Even though they lost the Cat fans knew their kids had just played and given their best. You could sense the cat fans knew they had almost pulled another rabbit out of a hat for two years in a row, but seemed to take the loss in stride knowing who was really the better team.
A great game by both teams just glad that unlike last year the better team won this time.

Truth be told, Stephenson was victorious this time versus Tucker. What I saw was two virtually even teams play to literally the last second. Let’s be honest, it could’ve gone either way. What I was impressed by is a champion team who showed class in defeat. Both are great programs, so ML King get ready…you’ve got your work cut out for you against both these teams.

Don’t ever base things on a scrimmage at the beginning of the Season. I told it would be a low scoring game. All week all you heard was speed from Tucker Blogger. You forgot Stephenson has speed too on both side of the ball. I told you it’s regular season not the playoff and game is won up front. Tucker underestimate Stephenson Offense and Defense . They thought it was going to be like the scrimmages. Tucker has excellent team but they were beat by a better team tonight. It could have gotten ugly , if Stephenson Offensive Coordinator had of open up the playbook and quit calling conservative.

Why in the world did the Berkmar coach NOT accept a running clock in the 3rd qtr? I give the players all the credit in the world as they never quit and played their hearts out. We had the second and third string in and weren’t trying to run the score up.

Never had been to watch a game on artificial turf outdoors so I went to Savannah St. to watch Benedictine and Bacon Co. I could have cared less who won, but I couldn’t help notice that the score should have been tied 33 to 33 but Bacon had a TD called back for holding. I really started feeling sorry for that team. They only had about 30 to 35 kids dressed out while Benedictine had around 60 to 70. Benedictine had one offside penalty and one roughing the kicker which was obvious while Bacon had 4 or 5 holding calls in which two were called on TD plays. Also Bacon had 3 blocking in the back calls. Hard to believe the Benedictine team ran the ball 90% of the time and never got called for anything. My point is that I went to watch a game on turf involving two teams that really mean nothing to me and the officiating was so one sided it ruined my night. Oh by the way, Savannah State has a very nice place. The football, baseball and softbal facilities are first class.

But I didn’t see anyone post this score but Sandy Creek defeated Shaw 51-26 in a game that was MUCH MUCH CLOSER than the score indicates. Hope LaGrange watches film very hard in a couple of weeks!!! http://www.ghsa.tv/events/38073

Keep the good thoughts and prayers in the air for Coffee County’s TE Jalen Wilkerson. They, along with the doctors, seem to be working. The last news from Savannah is that Jalen is stable with a broken Vertebra in his neck and a severe concussion. He has regained some feeling and movement in his arms and legs. It was difficult for most fans to see the incident as it happened on the sideline in front of the Coffee Bench. Jalen had caught a 4th down pass and lowered his head trying for the first down. A Touchdown Club reporter stated he made full speed helmet to helmet contact with two Brunswick defenders. God speed Jalen. Lord help him.

WAY TO GO, MY PURPLE HURRICANES!!! MONROE AREA 21, STEPHENS COUNTY 17!!!
Kwan Brooks breaks a 24-yarder midway through the 4th quarter and then the Hurricane defense closes it out!!! 6-0 and only Chestatee as a serious threat the rest of the way!!
It’s great to e a Monroe Hurricane!!!!!
“Monroe Area 21, Stephens County 17 … Gotta say that legitimizes Monroe Area. I was skeptical.”
We forgive you, Todd. Nobody gives us any credit since we don’t play inside the perimeter or in the high holy land of Gwinnett County. The Indians just found out that WE ARE FOR REAL!!!!!

Last night saw a great game at my old high school. Sprayberry beat Riverwood and the defense of Sprayberry did most of it. Rickey Dover broke up two passes in the end zone, one with 30 seconds left to secure the game for Sprayberry. It was exciting.
