Five bits of news from this week in Class AAAAAA –
- The Valdosta-Lowndes series continues to be entertaining, 51 games on. Lowndes, ranked No. 4, improved to 7-0 with a 17-14 victory. The Vikings trailed 14-6 in the fourth quarter before getting a winning field goal in the final seconds. Tijuan Lang had a key pick late in the game and returned to the Valdosta 32 in the final two minutes, setting up the FG heroics. Rance Gillespie almost became the first Valdosta coach to beat Lowndes in back-to-back seasons since Nick Hyder in 1994-95. Valdosta leads the series 34-17.
- West Forsyth is a step closer to 10-0 and a first region title. The Wolverines defeated Johns Creek 37-16 in a game between 5-0 teams from Region 6. West Forsyth trailed 16-3. A 52-yard TD run by QB A.J. Erdely tied it 16-16 early in the third, and a 79-yard pass to TE Ty Anderson set up the go-ahead TD. Jake Wieczorek rushed for 168 yards. West Forsyth, ranked No. 5, appears on its way to a first-ever region title. The school opened in 2007.
- The stunner of the night was Centennial’s 26-7 victory over Lambert. That also came in Region 6. Lambert was 5-0. Centennial was 0-5. Chase Rosenberg threw three TD passes to Christian Robinson. Rosenberg was 17-of-24 for 190 yards, and Robinson caught 11 passes for 145 yards.
- McEachern has taken control of Region 4. McEachern started 0-2 after losses to 2011 Class AAAAA finalists Grayson and Walton. After a 35-14 victory over South Cobb, the Indians are alone at the top in the region race. McEachern is 5-3, 5-0. South Cobb is 5-1, 3-1.
- Norcross has taken control of Region 7. The Blue Devils are 7-0 after a 35-23 victory over Collins Hill. Those were the remaining unbeaten teams in the region. Norcross is 7-0, 5-0. Collins Hill is 4-2, 3-1. Norcross has beaten the other one-loss team in the region, North Gwinnett. Norcross is seeking its first region title since 2007, fourth in history.

Looking at the brackets (i know it’s a jinx) and West had better buckle up as they will be going against Region 7 (Gwinnett) and then probably Region 8 ( Gwinnett’s best) in the first two rounds. Good news is…if they are #1 seed, they will have both games at home. Go West!! 4 weapons to score every time they touch the ball.

gret game to the cats unranked, played like they did against CC last year over and above what was expected. No fluke this year. I give it to Valdosta, they played their game and never lost their composure.
We made a few mistakes but that was not the reason for the close game.. Valdosta came to win… We will probably see them in the playoffs… again another great winnersville classic…

I am extremely proud of my VHS Wildcats. The Winnersville Classic was indeed a classic. We could say if-this and if-that, but when it was all said and done the Lowndes kicker came through under pressure. Congratulations to the Vikings. I’ll be rooting for you on November 2.

As an VHS Cat fan I’m proud of our guys, but like two years ago we had the game won but we let Lowndes back into the game and lost. We needed that win to define our season after losing to Brooks n getting blowout by Camden. By the way Camden going to go undefeated in the region this year.

@Todd Holcomb said “McEachern started 0-2 after losses to 2011 Class AAAAA finalists Grayson and Walton.” Dang Todd, we lose one game and are relegated to 3 1/2 lines in the round up and are then only given credit for being a finalist last year. We did win the championship you know. Sheesh!

camden county has looked fast bc they have not played a real defense yet, that will change when they go to colquitt and lowndes. They may still win both of those games, with beating lowndes the most difficult bc of thw way lowndes just grinds it out. Lowndes is goin to get 3 and 4 yds almost every touch, you cant stop it. i exoect camden to beat colquitt by 10 to 14 and The lowndes game to be decided by 10 or less.
Lowndes defense has held colquitt o 164 total yards and valdosta to 189
valdosta had 189 in just passing on camden

I really think Valdosta is better than Colquitt, after having seen both of them play. I predict Valdosta will defeat the Packers, giving them 2 region losses. Valdosta also has two region losses, but I think they will now run the table. If Camden defeats Colquitt, that will give them 3 region losses. I bet that will stoke Propst’s hot seat in Moultrie.
The Cats played an exceptional game against Lowndes tonight. They had a good game plan, and the extra week of practice surely helped them. But in big games, big time players make big plays, and Tiquan Lang ’s interception of a Valdosta pass in the closing minutes was indeed a big play. It led to Lowndes’ last play 39 yard field goal to win 17 to 14 over a fired up bunch of Wildcats. If I was Colquitt County, I’d start getting worried. ( Valdosta beat Colquitt last year while Colquitt was loaded.)

I need some help. For years Camden was blasted on here for playing a weak region. It didn’t matter that we played some of the top teams on the way to our championships. I must note we didn’t always win those games. We were beaten by some great Lowndes , Colquitt and other teams.
So now we are in R1. This was the region where everyone wanted us in and I must say this region has some great teams and we shuld not have been playing the teams in old R3. No we have not played Lowndes or Colquitt and they have not played us. What I am saying is when will Camden get cerdit for being able to compete in this region. I don’t care about the critics from outside the region but we get no respect from our region brothers on here or the Vent. All I here is you won but wait until next week or you played a weak team. There was no weak teams before the season started.
Like I always say , Camden will be ready to play win or lose every Friday.
ON A DIFFERENT NOTE. I SAW ON THE VENT WHERE A COFFEE PLAYER WAS HURT BAD LAST NIGHT. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH HIM , HIS FAMILY AND TEAM.

Camden1981 I asure you ALL Lowndes fans have LOTS of respect for Camden. Have for years!! You never heard us badmouthing your old region 3. We knew it was tougher than some regions around Greater Atlanta, even with the AAA teams in Savannah playing up. Look at the new region 3. It has two teams in it that have a chance of beating someone else. Also look mat region 6. I predict not a single team will move past round one of the playoffs. Region 2 has one team, Lovejoy, that will possibly advance to the second round.
If anyone wants a ticket to the Lowndes Camden game you can buy it this week at the Lowndes ticket office. We have two remaining home games (Coffee and Camden). Tickets for those two games are $8 each. You must buy both in order to get a guaranteed reserved seat ticket for the Nov 2nd Camden game. Thus your cost for the ticket is $16. The ticket office is located on the west end of the Lowndes County B of Ed bldg between Norman Drive and I 75, just north of Hwy 84. All tickets not already sold are on the visitors’ side of the field, as Lowndes completely sells out the home side every year to reserved seat season ticket holders. (We have also sold apprx 1000 reserved seat season tickets on the visitor’s side this year.) Or, you can wait til the week of the game, stand in line, and take a chance on getting a ticket. I also encourage all Coffee fans who want to come to the Lowndes Coffee game, to buy the two game package now. Only problem, if you want to call it a problem, is you will be sitting near Lowndes fans on the south end of the visitors stands instead of in the center section which will be sent to Camden for sale the week of the game.

@CAMDEN1981…You yourself know that Camden has played in the weakest region in the state for quiet a few years! Now with that said, this year, Camden has the best team and talent they have ever had! That will make for a very good year for Camden against a Region that is not up to Region 1 standards.By the way, welcome to Region 1 and best of luck to ya! Gooo Region 1!!!!!

I was at the Coffee High/Brunswick game last night – Coffee gave up a lot of yards but outlasted Brunswick. On a sad note a Coffee High TE (sophomore) was injured seriously just before the half and has been diagnosed with a broken (or fractured) bone in his neck. I did see him moving his arms and legs which is good news. Pray for this young man to recover, not to play football, but to live a normal and happy life.

Camden 1981…once again, you are Camden fan playing the victim role without merit. There has been nothing but respectful acknowledgement of Camden as a force. I think it only makes sense to state they have yet to play the two major powerhouse teams in determining their success in the first Region 1 campaign…what else would you expect to be said?
Even if the go undefeated this year in R1, there still will be some plausible discussion around whether they can do that year in and year out….I mean, isn’t this the point of blog discussion about HS football? Of course, many do not consider sensible dialogue and exchange as their primary reason for participating….and I am not directing this comment at you.

Congratulations to Lowndes for the victory, but also to Valdosta players and coaches. Anyone that thinks about counting you guys out for the remainder of the season will get thier…….handed to them. Here’s something else for us VHS fans to think about: we have lost to three teams that are a combined 20 – 0 (and could have won two of those games), and we beat a good North Augusta team whose only loss is to Valdosta. If we win out we will be no worse than the #3 seed out of R1. So, we pick our heads up, congratulate Lowndes for winning a hard fought game, and press on, knowing we’re a pretty darn good football team!

North Gwinnett head coach is a pin head, not a good sportsman, and a very bad example or short sized ( has his Qb throw a pass for a touch down with 30 seconds left in the game winning 40 -28 game over at that point without the TD). Playoffs are close and maybe he will get his just reward by another one and done. North has always under played in the playoffs. He needs to remember Lanier is next door and your freshman and jv are weak at North you could be the next Meadowcreek. OH I forgot he will quite first.

What a good game last night, glad that I was able to go. I saw 2 teams leaving it on the field. Really impressed with the fans that I sat among. Very passionate about football period. There were Vikings and Wildcats where I was sitting, and not one criticized the other, both responded well to good and bad plays. The atmospere in a whole was electric. One of those games where you wanted both teams to win. One the scoreboard Lowndes won, but both teams won in my book for the mutual repsect that they showed one another.

Did anyone see McPherson and Gillespie meeting and talking before last night’s game? You could see the admiration and respect each have for the other. Throughout the hard fought, emotional game, there was outstanding sportsmanship by both teams. It was a whale of a game. I heard a former Wildcat talking on a local sports radio show last night after the game. He said it was his first Lowndes Valdosta game in quite a few years as he doesn’t live here anymore. He talked on and on about how the game was worth a lot more than the $8 he paid to see it.
Now Valdosta has to know how we felt last year, when one was stolen from them at the last minute. Good luck Cats the rest of your season! I really hope your team keeps its emotion and desire to win, and wins out the rest of the regular season. I honestly will be pulling for you to win the next three games.

Camden 1981 I think the point is this. Camden will win it’s share of region 1 championships (probably this year and some in the future), but the all we have to do is show up years for Camden are over as was the case in Region 3 for you.
You will get your share of the victories and you will get your share to feel the pain of defeat.
Other teams have gone through this region undefeated and so you would not be the first.
Those same teams have had to eat crow in other years and you will see those days too.
Other teams have gone through this region as champs and won state as you will some times.
Those same teams have had to enter as 2nd, 3rd, 4th place finishers in other years ane you will
find Camden will experience this (if you hang around long enough) in some years too.
At the beginning of the year I think most on these blogs have said they thought Camden, Colquit and Grayson were the teams to beat this year.
At this point Camden is the only one of these 3 left undefeated.
Lowndes to this point has been a bit of a surprise (even for most Lowndes fans).
Colquit to this point has been a little bit of a disapointment.

@avikingfan=Come on now,I know no one likes coach Rush but as a team we do have talent and with the the younger players playing a lot more because they are faster on offense Rush can call the plays he really wants to call. We are loaded this year with more weapons than last the problem to me is the rotating of the quarterbacks. The timing was off in the first half of the season but with Mobley at QB we will get it going like it should have been the whole season. I do respect your opinion and Valdosta played their hearts out but we are a little better than last year and VHS also had 8 seniors on defense last year too. Those seniors were very inspired on defense and VHS won the game hands down, but they were not the better team and will not be the better team this year either and their will be a different out come for sure. WILDHAWG2012 — I have nothing but respect for the players at Colquitt County. I just do not think Colquitt has a running game to go with it’s ability to pass, like Valdosta does. And I disrespect your coach enough to want to see Colquitt lose every game it plays while he’s there.
All that hog wash about while he was at Hoover all he did wrong was to try and get some kids into college is a sack of hog manure. I have in my hands a copy of the Investigative report presented to the Hoover Board of Education on August 31, 2007. It is 66 pages thick. It was prepared by a law firm in Birminghham. It details incident after incident where players grades were changed after teachers submitted their end of the year grades. Guidance Counselors and Assistant Principals, under pressure from Propst, changed grades to keep players eligible. 19 teachers confirmed that their grades were frequently changed. 36 other teachers would not admit they were aware of grades being changed, but the investigation revealed many were . It was standard policy for teachers to have to allow players to retake failed tests up to 3 times. Administrators afraid of Propst’s clout with some Board members, made those policies.
On page 53 of the report details Propst sending an assistant coach, Luke Pruett, to Vestavia High Schoo , a key upcoming opponent, to spy on their practices, and to film them. Vestavia officials discovered the spying and reported it to the AHSAA, who suspended Luke Pruett from coaching in Alabama for one year.
Other pages detail how Propst frequently had other people punch his time clock when he really was not at work. (Apparently all employees of Hoover had to “clock in”.)
Other pages report on his personal life and questionable spending of monies gained from camps, and the “two-a-days” TV program. So many County and State rules were broken by Propst that they are too numerous to mention.
And that sir is why I do not like or respect Rush Probst. That and the nerve the guy had to call our coach a “blatant liar” in the newspaper.

If things stay the way they are, the playoff brackets look interesting. The toughest bracket would have Camden, Norcross, and Grayson which appears to be playing better after the loss. Congratulations on winning region 7. Win your first playoff game then get the defending state champs, then the the No 1 team in the state. The winner of that bracket would probably be the favorite out of the 4 teams left.
The 3 and 4 seeds from region 1 will have it hard. First round gets a trip to Cobb County in Atlanta and if they make it to the quarters they probably get another trip to Atlanta with a possible trip to middle Ga sandwiched in the middle. The third seed has the harder task actually because their quarterfinal would be at Lassiter. This is all speculation though and it will be interesting to see how things work out.

Why is it when Camden beat Valdosta, when the score could have been worse, with a running clock. Valdosta isn’t any good but when they come with minutes of beating Lowndes they’re good and a team to be reconked with. Don’t give me that rivalry BS. Before the official start of the season Region 1AAAAAA was strong from top to bottom. Camden has outscorced it’s opponents 129-18 in the 3 region games. @jimb–Why don’t you give the whole story. NG was content to run out the clock and in fact had run the ball the previous 9 plays. The Mill Creek coach thought the game was still going on, This is evident by him using his timeouts. NG had the ball on the MC 36 yard line with a 4th and 20. The clock was stopped at 44 seconds. Why did the clock stop? Because Mill Creek called time out. Why did Mill Creek call time out? Because they wanted the ball back to score. At this point NG had several options, 1. Punt (we had already had 1 punt blocked and were using our sophmore backup long snapper playing in his first varsity game) 2. Run the ball and potentialy giving the ball over on downs with minimal time off the clock. 3 throw a deep pass where the maximum amount of time is used and the outcome of the play is either a catch for a first dow or touchdown, Interference where we retain possession, Incomplete with alot of time used or an interception which would be just as good as a punt.
Another thing to remember is this game most of the points on both sides were scored quickly. NG scored 20 points in the last 2 minutes of the first half and with the skill and speed of the MC it certainly could have happened to us.
Now to your comment about NG underplaying in the playoffs. Another one and done , Huh. We woudn’t know about that. You must be thinking of MC fine playoff record of one one and done and one trip to the qtr-finals. for an overall record of 2-2. In the sme time period, NG is 11-6 in the playoffs with 3 qtr-finals and one state championship appearance. You must be frustrated beacuse MC is the largest school in the state with arguably the most sucessful GFL program. Now which high school underachieves?

Or you can go out to Lowndes’ Martin Stadium, aka the Concrete Palace, and watch Lowndes’ 9th graders play Valdosta’s 9th graders. Lowndes has 5 or 6 sophomore starters on the Varsity who do NOT play on the B Team.
For you die hard football enthusiests, it promises to be well worth your time.

@ AVikingFan – Valdosta has 12 or 13 soph-Jr players that have not played JV all year. Valdosta only plays 3rd stringers on JV. I know Lowndes JV is undefeated and I think unscored on, but I think thats because most teams in the region follow the same plan as Valdosta about JV.
I took you up on your bet about Lowndes scoring Touchdowns and it looks like you owe me. The Vikings only scored 1 TD (which should have been an INT. That DB is a soph, He will defenitely make up for that mistake the next 2yrs.)

@ MIGHTY MIGHTY WILDCAT- What “ELEMENT” are you talking about at Valdosta High? I played at Valdosta and all 3 of my boys go there now. I have been a player and now I’m a parent, so what “ELEMENT” are you refering to? You have many educational choices in Valdosta?Lowndes County. You can chose any you like. However, don’t hide behind this blog with comments like ” Eliminate the ELEMENT at Valdosta High”! Valdosta High is definitely not begging for you or anybody to send their child to VHS!!!!
To your comment about Valwood. No disrespect to Valwood, but have you been to a Valwood game? Valwood has done a great job of getting kids that probably would have never played at VHS?LHS to come and play ball. Those kids didn’t leave VHS because of the “ELEMENT” or the great Valwood education. They left so they could get the chance to play football!!!!

The Valwood coach (former coach at Valdosta High) told Gillespie his players go to Valwood to “get an education”. I have been told Valwood’s total enrollment in grades 1 thru 12 is less than a 100 students. That has not affected Valdosta High one iota, imo!

@ jimb @ Longhorn Nation…..Some gutsy words about a person you do not know, but we are all entitled to our opinions.
@ Jimb….Don’t know if you watched the MC vs. NG game, but MC can score on any given play so of course you take the endzone shot on 4th and a mile to put that quick scoring threat to rest. Not to mention building confidence for your Qb who will have to be flawless in the playoffs, like he was Friday against MC. You can speculate both sides of the equation and say it was “unsportman like”, but at the end of the day you have to look at the facts. If they punt in that situation and MC scores on one big play, which they already had 3 times from 50+ yards, then your up by 5 points. Then an onside recovery by MC only requires another big TD run and NG loses. If you are not the coach then don’t speculate about his decisions. Mill Creek is a DANGEROUS offensive machine and will be a very tough out in the playoffs. They Qb is VERY good and only a sophmore.

Some years it comes together better than others. This is however, one of Camden’s better years of offensive talent. But think about the 15-0 2003 and 2008 teams. The defense on the 2003 team was record setting! Camden’s defense this year is still a work in progress, but getting better every week. But the best team Camden has ever had, I doubt it.

yall played a great game….but lowndes in the end won a game yet again we should have won by 2 tds or more…..we punted ..ONE time !!! we ran the ball down valdostas throat…and were 6of 7 with 132 yds passing…..we have got to improve on rd zone offense….this game was closer than it should have been….valdosta had less than 100 passing and 100 rushing on us…..not even mighty camden accomplished this with their defense
valdosta had 1 drive where they drove the field on lowndes……the other drive was setup by a kickoff return by valdosta to the lowndes 40……
valdosta played the best they have all year fri night …….lowndes played prob its worse game….and still won…..
lowndes 352 yards….valdosta 189…..

bk, add back the yards we lost due to sacks and the fumbled kick attempt and we totaled right at 400 yards offense on the Cats. Not bad at all. I still think Valdosta is more balanced than Colquitt, and may defeat them in two weeks, like they did last year. AND, Colquitt might just knock off the big boys, Camden on Nov 9th. We all know how Colquitt plays late in the season.
I’m willing to bet Buzz Payne will be there with his binoculars, especially since the GHSA said it’s not against the rules. But from what I know about Camden’s coach, he will ignore Payne much like the Lowndes coaches did. Still, I think he’ll be there to get into Propst’s head again! He wore an Alabama shirt when we played the Packers, but I can’t see him in baby blue! It’s kind of a girlie boy color to me. LOL (Just messing with ya, Camden74)
bk, Lowndes held Valdosta to I think two first downs in the 1st half, while we had, what, two 90 plus yard drives? We got into the red zone three times in the 1st half and only scored 3 points. We’ve GOT to improve on that!

If there is one thing that burns me is HS football fans complaining about urban black youth culture….can you imagine what football would be without African American youth? We make up 12% of the population and 80% of the meaningful athletes on any given team. So whenever you speak of the “element” just remember that. You guys love these kids on Friday nights, but when they finish their senior season, you treat them like threats and criminals…I see on a daily basis at Lowndes and Valdosta…..there has not been a significant hiring of a past player on either staff involving a past player….use em and abuse em.

Valdosta played their guts out…..lowndes played ok….just blew up in the redzone….socre should have been 27-14…but a win is a win…..
camdens offense is very good……we all know that……their defense is pretty good also…..but it can be scored on and will be…..
camdens offense cant do much when its standing on the sideline can it? wait and see what happens nov 2nd……if camden cant stop lowndes from picking up 3 and 4 yds at a time…it will be a LONG night for camdens offense on the sideline……Lowndes held the ball 10 more min of offense than valdosta and 13 more than colquitt…..the recipe to beat camden is to keep their offense off field

I hope so Camden 74, and if so I apologize. But I went back and read his post again, especially the last part, and I take exception with it. We have hired former players, white and black. We think it’s a good thing to hire a former player who went to college and got a degree. My family and friends often entertainplayers and former players in our homes, especially when they are home from school, and on weekends. One former black player called my son at 3:30am the night another of our former player (Ed Christian) was shot to death at Auburn, AL. He thanked my son for being “the daddy he never had.”
Lowndes doesn’t turn its back on former players. They are part of the Viking family, always. Our Touchdown Club has helped many, many former players, white and black, in times of need, some of them years after they graduated from Lowndes. Our school system diligently tries to hire former students. I know this for a fact. I served 8 years on the Lowndes Board of Education.
I often have former players come up to me at Lowndes games, shake my hand and sometimes even hug me, and often introduce me to their wives and kids .And, I am by no means the only person this happens to.
Now can we please go back to talking about our upcoming games.

@bksmith14 – You claim to have soo many contacts, so ask any Lowndes coach and they will tell you that Lowndes tried to execute the same scheme as Camden did against Valdosta. The difference is Lowndes just doesn’t have the same caliber athletes Camden does. You clamor about all the Lowndes yards, but break this down: Lowndes had 385yds total offense. 45yds came on a screen play and 35 came on another pass play to Burgman. Burgman also had a 25yd run. Thats 105yds on 3 plays. So really Lowndes gained 280 yds on all other plays. Valdosta had only 2 possesions in the first half and only 7 for the game. Lowndes scored their only TD with 4min left in the game.
I’m not taking anything away from the Vikings win, but the stats are alittle misleading. The eye test showed a different game.

Lowndes bogged down in the red-zone because of the limits to their offense. When in the red-zone, it was easier for Valdosta to contain the running game because of the shorter field. Outside the red-zone, Lowndes did a good job of spreading Valdosta out and running screens and the “Sally”. Those plays are irrelavant in the red-zone because the field shrinks and defenses can play tighter.

Either way, Camden still has 3 regular season games left…..I’m sure each of the remaining games will be important.

Camden74 — Good luck to your Baby Blue Cats, except of course on Nov. 2nd! Randy McP contradicted me when I recently made a statement to the effect that I think Colquitt might be more than Camden can handle on Nov 9th. Coach Randy said Camden will be FAR more than Colquitt can handle! Randy said two of his best coaching friends are Randy Pruett and Jeff Heron. He has deep respect and admiration for both, and talks to Heron frequently.
But right now we are totally concerned with one thing and that is to beat Coffee. Randy tells the team if they don’t lose a region game they WILL win the region title. He says if the other team doesn’t score there’s a good chance we will win. Sounds elementary, but that’s the way we think. One game at the time. The one we are playing this week is the most important on our schedule.
ColquittFan — Someone over here is selling Lowndes tee shirts out the gazoo with a Viking Shield with a pair of binoculars on it with a line that reads “Everyone’s Buzzing.”. On the two lenses is a 17 and a 14. A caption below that says “Payne as day to Me!”

I have been on the road and not able to log in, but I really appreciate Camden74 sticking up for me in my absence…even if we disagree a lot, he is a standup poster with rational insight.
A Viking Fan…..I was not the one who brought the topic of race up…another poster did that…I merely responded, but you my friend made the obvious mistake that many people do when confronted with accusation of race…you stated that had a “black friend” and then subliminally stated that is because they do not have degrees..wow. Then you asked me to name the list of “educated” black canididates, another wow.
I will just recommend that everyone read the book “Must Win” by Drew Jubera and pay close attention to the section on how they interviewed Corey Jarvis (my college classmate at ASU) and many of the powers-that-be openly stated that this town was “not ready” for a black coach.
I do not think most of you are racist, but if you refuse to recognize that this is still an issue in Valdosta, GA and most other counties….you are delusional. I am the fan that will continue to root for them after their last football game.
No more on the subject from me….I appreciate the discussion on HS football, but I will not allow anyone to just make those types of posts without a response.

AVikingFan…..Thanks and the same to you and Lowndes, except when playing Camden. I’m concerned with all of the remaining games. Brunswick and Camden have been rivals for many years, so I know they will not just lie down for the upcoming game. Lowndes is always tough and I don’t expect any difference this time around. But I do expect Camden to win. Let’s see what happens. Colquitt is also of concern, Propst has a way of exploiting the weaknesses in the 3-3-5. But more than anything else, he has the gift of being able to influence the officials. That’s my biggest concern!

That punter for the Valdosta wildcats……….he needs to go tryout for the NFL…….what a cannon for a leg…….ramsey aint got nothing on him as far as punting goes……kickoffs…thats another story..lol…but this valdosta kid can kick the ball to china on a punt
Coffee county has athletes and they have some speed and size….they are not coming to lose fri at martin stadium……and after coming off a very emotional win vs the cats in winnersville……lowndes must be ready and i think this is a special group…

It was funny watching #2 lang for lowndes on 1 of those punts in the valdosta game……..the kick was about 60 yds and 200 ft high in the air…..lang signaled fair catch….but he smartly moved out of the way after he peob lost the ball in the air….that kid can boom it man

I know right Cam74…back to being mortal enemies (in a high school football sorta way). I have to say that I lost some interest in the Nov 2 matchup after watching the Winnersville Classic. I just do not think Lowndes has a versitle enough offense to adjust if Herron puts 8-9 in the box. No disrespect to the kid personally, but the Lowndes QB#6 just floats the ball up a lot and got lucky against an inexperienced Valdosta secondary, this will not be the case against 2JG and company.
I think it wil be worth watching, but give the nod to Camden on the pass offense and defense, that makes the difference. However, if Lowndes is successful early running the ball, then watch out.

bk14…you are dead on about the Valdosta punter, he has kept them in many a game this year…..however, Tiquan #2 has to learn how to catch those balls…he let two or three go and lost field position a couple of times….that could come back to haunt them in a close playoff game.
My favorite Viking this year is Nick Burgman# 21…I respect that young man off the field as much as on the field. I would love to see him as the Lowndes Head Coach one day!!! (I know I said I was done with that, but I could not resist getting one more in)

Lol I’ve seen the shirts, quite comical. Not quite as good as the others I’ve seen that has your Viking with the caption “cheating wins championships”. Randy Mccheater needs to worry about his own team playing Camden. We beat Camden last year, we can possibly do it again, although it will be extremely difficult. Camden is no doubt tops in the state IMO. We have them at home is our only bonus. Honestly though, I don’t see anybody beating Camden this year

Titletown USA I I too am very fond of Nick B. He is an OUTSTANDING young man. His mother is a very sweet lady, and certainly has raised Nick to have manners and class. Her little girl is adorable!
Nick is really intelligent and can become anything he sets out for. If he decides to become a coach one day, I would be one of many, many people cheering for his success!
Another young man coming up that you may want to look at as a future coach is at Lowndes Middle School, Tyson Harris. Tyson is a “coach on the field.” You can see LMS vs Valdosta Middle today at 4:30 pm at Cleveland Field, followed by the Viking BTeam taking on the Valdosta BTeam. (The two 9th grade teams are going at it today at Martin Stadium.) I think Tyson will be the next GREAT athlete at Lowndes.
Last week I drove down to Lowndes Middle to watch their 8th grade play Coffee. As I approached the field’s seating area with the team on the field warming up and stretching, one of the Lowndes Middle’s coaches yelled my name and said the team has something to tell me. In unison they yelled “Happy Birthday.” That made an old man happy! (And yes Lowndes won the game 36 to 16 and Tyson was fantastic.)

I don’t know what the motive was with the shirtm ColquittFan –. The TD Club had nothing to do with it. One individual had them made and is trying to sell them. Apparently he thinks they’re funny.
But I bought two of’em!
I haven’t seen ANY Lowndes shirts with ANYTHING on them mentioning “cheaters.” You sir are just having bad dreams! Wait til Nov 10th and you will wake up knowing your wildest nightmare just happened! After Camden AND Valdosta defeat your undisciplined hawgs, ya’ll will be making road trip plans the first playoff game. At least Buzz will have to travel to watch you play!

Ok bud. Whatever you say. Can you post pics on here? And how are we undisciplined? Lowndes is the ones that rack up penalties. Me and vikingfan are havin a civilized conversation w some jokes and you act like a little punk talking trash. I’ve always said we’d have to play perfect to beat Camden, you sayin Lowndes don’t? Camden will blow the doors of y’all too if you play like you did against us and Valdosta.
