Tucker`s number 1 in wins, but I guess we did`nt play anybody so on and so forth. Well we don`t have anybody this weekend either so what will be said then. 21 in a row soon approaches. Oops I already marked it in my win column and I don`t have an eraser . Oh well the lil feline cubs have to pay. lets go.

@Dekalb County Guy I knew I missed someone. Thanks…SWD has lost to two of the best of the bigger schools..Arabia Mtn was probably too high also but they have played the best also hard to judge.

SWD is 3-2 after first 5 games and I think most would agree thats about what was expected. If they can work out offensive kinks second half they may be tough first draw for someone.

Mays vs Arabia Mountain should be a great game on Thursday. Its just about do or die for Mays. A loss would devastating to their playoff chances.

Decatur, St. Pius and Marist are not Dekalb County schools, whether their private or public.

@ Decatur 4 Life

I dont think anyone referenced them as being apart of the Dekalb county schools system.

They are simply 3 other schools that are located in Dekalb county and play many of their games against schools from the Dekalb county school system.

@Tiger4Life. Thanks. I was at that scrimmage. Should be a great game. Just think Tucker is too strong on both sides of the ball.

This article should put to bed any comments on WHO is the best in DeKalb, as well as WHO is funding the AD department for DeKalb athletics. Something needs to be done from the AD department to fund the TOP teams in the county, mainly in coaching stiffing.

@rwdekalb – I agree with your comments on SWD. The Panthers will be a 2012 playoff team and if they can work out a couple of issues, will give a #1 seat a tough 1st around game…might be a surprise score. The Mays and Arabia match IS a do or die for the Raiders. At this moment, Mays is on the outside looking in for a playoff spot. 2 region loses (SWD & MLK) and still have Tucker and Stephenson, might be a TALL order for the Raiders to overcome, this year…4 region loses will not get you in the post season, not in this loaded region.

Yes, region fans, SWD gets the #4 spot and 1-3 will be determine in a couple of weeks, starting Oct 12th. ARE YOU READY FOR THE CLASH OF THE BIG CATS????

Doesn’t matter, they shouldn’t be in a discussion of total wins by Dekalb County schools over the past 10 seasons. That’s just my opinion, if you ask them they don’t want to be considered as a Dekalb County school trust me

Yeah funding Dekalb in football, I agree. Other sports it’s different, during basketball season Columbia and Miller Grove funds the county other than them nobody else makes money not even Tucker

@Decatur4Life

All me and NODistrict lines did was gave an informal ranking of how we saw the schools in Dekalb co. It doesnt matter if they dont want to be associated with Dekalb schools or not, (Marist, St. Pius, and Decatur) are still located in Dekalb county.

@Decatur 4 Life – Yep, you might be right on your basketball funding comment, but this article is directed at football and during football season, Tucker, Stephenson, MLK, SWD, funds the county other than them, nobody else makes money not even Columbia and Miller Grove.

The point is – DeKalb BOE should & can do better, providing money makers (Football, Basketball, whatever) with the necessary funding at the school level, not at the administration level. (IMO)
