Buford 61, West Hall 0: The third quarter was one to remember for Buford in the Wolves’ easy victory over the Spartans. The Wolves needed only three plays from scrimmage to score five touchdowns, capitalizing on a fumble recovery and two interception returns for scores. Dontravious Wilson led the ground attack with three scores on 10 carries for 201 yards.
Dawson County 45, Banks County 9: The visiting Dawson County Tigers used three quarterbacks to dispatch Banks County. Tigers starting quarterback Tyler Dominy completed 15 of his 21 passes for 333 yards and an impressive six touchdowns. Bruce Clark added three more touchdowns and 135 yards through the air for Dawson County. Chris Sailor passed for two touchdowns and 118 yards.
North Oconee 35, Morgan County 7: Visiting Morgan County could not stop Titans running back Kawon Bryant from rushing for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Bryant also added a 62-yard touchdown reception for North Oconee. Titans quarterback Nick Colvin threw two touchdowns on the night, one to Bryant and the other to Joel Hicks. Hicks caught two passes for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Thomson 36, Greater Atlanta Christian 27: The visiting Bulldogs rushed for 325 yards, including 200 from running back Chris Jordan. The Spartans led 20-15 at the half, but Jordan scored twice in the second half. Greater Atlanta Christian quarterback Rafe Chapple threw for 326 yards with three scores and three interceptions.
St. Pius 34, McNair 0: The Golden Lions outgained the visiting McNair Panthers 312 yards to 73 yards. Golden Lions running back Ryan Braswell rushed 20 times for 91 yards and three touchdowns. His 91 yards were part of St. Pius’ 242 rushing yards on the night. St. Pius quarterback Jack Spear threw for 70 yards and one touchdown.
Washington County 48, Lovett 35: The host Golden Hawks rushed for 456 yards and six touchdowns and jumped out to a 21-7 lead over Lovett. Lions quarterback Willie Candler was 18-of-27 for 232 yards and three touchdowns. Candler also rushed for 46 yards and a score. His touchdown passes were to Alston White, Arthur Winborne and Jack McGranahan.
Woodward Academy 33, Decatur 14: Quarterback Terry Googer rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another for visiting Woodward Academy. Googer completed his scoring pass to Benji Russell for 37 yards while his rushing scores went for 4, 5 and 1 yard. The War Eagles outscored Decatur 16-0 in the second half.
