Milton plays at Etowah in TV game

Milton High School coach Howie DeCristofaro will have a reunion with one of his former teams on Thursday.

Milton (4-1) plays at Etowah (3-2) at 7:30 p.m.

DeCristofaro was Etowah’s defensive line coach for the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

It’s a big game between the two teams for other reasons.

“If we win, we go 3-0 in the region,” DeCristofaro said. “Walton and Lassiter play Friday night, and one of them is going to be 3-0 and one of them is going to 2-1. So the significance is if we win, we’re at least tied atop the region standings. That’s the big part of it.”

Tonight’s game will be televised live on WSB-TV/Me-TV 2.2, which can be found on the following cable systems by channel number: Comcast 248 (Metro Atlanta, Calhoun, Rome), Charter 126 (Metro Atlanta, Athens), Windstream 871 (Dahlonega, Hiawassee, Cornelia, Commerce), ETC 190 (Ellijay, Cherokee, Pickens, Gilmer, Fannin), Plantation 601 (Green, Putnam) and Knology 168 (West Point). The re-broadcast will be shown at 1 a.m. Friday night on WSB-TV on Ch. 2.

Not impressed at all. Miltons wins come against teams that have a combined record of 9-17.
.346 winning percentage. laughable.

Milton plays in a weak N Georgia region with a weak schedule. Etowah is even worse.

That may be…that’s why they play the games. We’ll take them one game at a time. The next one will be tough for sure – Lassiter on the 19th. But we’ll take our team and our coach and support the hell of them both!
