When is eight not enough? Eastside of Covington scored eight touchdowns on Friday but lost 57-56 to Chestatee, which put up 592 yards of total offense, according to the Gainesville Times. It has happened only nine times in GHSA history that a team has scored 56 or more points and lost:
2004 – Collins Hill 70, South Cobb 68
2010 – Macon County 70, Pacelli 64
2010 – Valdosta 64, Brunswick 62
2007 – Our Lady of Mercy 63, Mount Pisgah Christian 62
2008 – Greenbrier 59, Redan 57
2007 – Chamblee 58, Stephens County 57
2012 – Chestatee 57, Eastside 56
2011 – South Gwinnett 63, Central Gwinnett 55
2008 – West Hall 56, Johnson-Gainesville 55

I want to make sure I read this right: “that a team has scored 56 or more points and lost”. Why are these two games included? Neither of the losing teams scored 56 points.
