Athens Academy 10, Our Lady of Mercy 7: Quarterback Austin Schulte threw a 74-yard touchdown to Eric Williams late in the fourth quarter to boost host Athens Academy over the Bobcats. Schulte completed 11-of-17 passes for 164 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. One interception was returned 18 yards for a touchdown.

Darlington 34, King’s Ridge Christian 17: A battle of the Tigers started with Darlington taking a 21-3 halftime lead. King’s Ridge attempted a comeback in the second half, as running back Penny Hart scored a 30-yard touchdown. Quarterback Bailey Miller added a 1-yard score, but it would not be enough to defeat visiting Darlington.

First Presbyterian 24, Pace Academy 20: The visiting Vikings intercepted two passes in the final period and converted both into touchdowns to overcome a 20-10 deficit. Quarterback Brooks Stroud hit receiver Scott McCormick for a 15-yard score to give the Vikings the winning margin. Knights quarterback Kevin Johnson had three touchdown passes on 17-of-24 passes for 234 yards.

Walker 21, Mt. Zion-Carroll 14: Cameron Bloebaum scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak with eight minutes remaining to break a 14-14 tie and help Walker past visiting Mt. Zion-Carroll. The Wolverines were led by Evan Kasian, who rushed 21 times for 184 yards and two touchdowns including a 37-yard scoring jaunt in the first quarter. Patrick McPherson gained 61 yards on 11 carries for Walker.

Sounds like it was a great game between OLM & Athens Academy ( 10-7 ) ….. maybe OLM will regroup this week against Pace …. congrats to Athens Academy beating a very soild team.

In the King’s Ridge v Darlington game, the ‘run’ for Penny Hart was actually a pass from Bailey Miller to Penny Hart for the 36 yard score. And Miller went 21/31 for 239 yards, and 2 TDs with 2 INTs for the game.
