Banneker 29, Redan 7: The Raiders took an early 7-0 lead, but Banneker’s Jalen White carried the host Trojans to an easy win. White carried the ball 29 times, gaining 220 yards and scoring on runs of 32, two and five yards. Quarterback James Boyd was efficient in the pocket completing nine of 13 attempts for 127 yards including a touchdown to Jahmmir Taylor.

Griffin 52, Woodland-Stockbridge 20: Devonta Freeman rushed for three touchdowns and more than 100 yards for the visiting Bears. Anforne’ Stroud, Malik Miller and Jaquez Parks also rushed for touchdowns, and Darquavious Mangham had a touchdown reception.

Lanier 14, Madison County 7: Visiting Madison County led the Longhorns at halftime 7-0, but could not hold onto the lead. T.J. Skelton scored the first half touchdown for the Red Raiders from three yards out. Lanier scored twice in the second half and took the lead on a recovered fumble that was returned 95 yards for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Marist 53, Therrell 0: Myles Willis threw a pair of touchdown passes to Greg Toboada and also ran for a 38-yard score as Marist raced to a 39-0 halftime lead and cruised to victory. The host War Eagles completed their scoring in the third quarter, which featured running touchdowns of three yards and 42 yards by Chase Martenson. Nick Carrier added a 19-yard interception return for a score.

Stockbridge 15, North Clayton 14: Stockbridge established a 15-point first half lead, then repelled a late comeback by North Clayton. Quarterback Trent Earl ran for a score and Malik Bryan rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. North Clayton scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, but were unable to complete the comeback.

@syrupdawg: Next week at Lanier. The Longhorns have been making noise, but barely beat a weak Madison County team 14-7 on a late TD. Stephens County in two weeks, and that will be the game where the standard is set.

How come APS school like Washington never get no press in AJC unless they go all the way undefeated and make it to the state playoffs like Grady did a few years back. But all these other non APS schools can have sub par records and you guys are all over there games unbelievable. i have not seen not one stat line from a washington game and they have a pretty good QB as well fernanda Tucker Jr.
