Charlton County’s streak of games without being shut out was ended at 120 last week in a 31-0 loss to Ware County. Southwest DeKalb’s streak of 50 games also was ended by M.L. King. Here are the schools that have gone the most games currently without being shut out:
159 – Roswell
120 – Stephens County
115 – Calhoun
112 – Carrollton
105 – Wilcox County
104 – Fitzgerald
99 – Northside (Warner Robins)
95 – Lassiter
92 – Heard County
91 – Landmark Christian
86 – Whitewater
Notes: Roswell was shut out most recently on Oct. 2, 1998, by North Cobb. … Whitewater, opened in 2004, has never been shut out. … Peachtree Ridge had gone 87 games without being shut out until losing 28-0 to North Gwinnett on Nov. 4, 2011. Now, the Lions have been shut out in three of their past four games. … Buford in 2011 ended two long streaks of teams not being shut out – Jefferson County at 100 games and Greater Atlanta Christian at 98. Buford’s streak of 147 games without being shut out was ended in 2010 by Carver of Columbus.

Whitewater came just about as close to getting shut out without getting shut out as they could against Coffee this year. Just 3 points on a 40+ yard field goal. Almost got ‘em. Next year maybe.
