Predictions: Expect Buford, St. Pius to win big non-region games

Week 2 was not a great one for your local high school football prognosticator (71.5 percent correct), just like it wasn’t a great week for Central-Macon, Grovetown, Cross Keys, Dublin, Forest Park and Stewart County, who all got beat by at least 50 points. Look for Dublin and Forest Park to bounce, and I’m hoping to do the same by taking Peach County over Baldwin, Buford over Gainesville, Calhoun over Dalton, Valdosta over Brooks County and St. Pius over North Oconee in what should be a great weekend of games.

And congratulations go out to Aubrey Moree of Cumming, who was the first-week winner in the High School Football Pickoff contest. Moree was one of eight contestants to correctly pick the winner in 13 of 15 games and won the tiebreaker for the closest guess of the score of the Flowery Branch-Northside game. I hope Union Grove wins but not sure that they will.

You’re gonna get “burned” sooner or later picking Colquitt Co. this year. Over Lovejoy, at that? You almost got it last week, and if Central of T’ville had 5 more mins. they would have won that game. The Packers are way overrated this year. BTW, the “hippy-dippy” coach at CCHS has been taking a lot of flack for his actions after their loss in the dome couple of weeks ago. Many comments in the “Rant and Rave” section in the Moultrie Observer. Several people, and apparently a teacher or two very upset over his profanity, and throwing things. Plus making them practice 3 hrs. on Sunday, day after the game. Might be a story here, AJC, if you’re not too busy. Seems to be a lot of animosity towards all the coaches there, especially the “main one”, whose “rep” precedes(or exceeds) him.

Dum Bass….Rush Propst, the hippy dippy coach, was a bench sitter at Jacksonville State. I bet he didn’t suit up for five games in his four years of college. That is a fact because I played at Jax State when Rush was there. Rush just hoped that the third team reciever got hurt so he might get a jersey for game day, which was good for our team because Rush was terrible. Slow, bad hands, no vertical, bad non athlete from Heflin AL …… FACT!!! I understand he thinks he is big time now, well than ran him out of town in Hoover AL because he is a jerk and they got tired of him and his big time ego.

“What if a classroom teacher came into their room and threw items, used profanity in front of students and forced students to come on Sunday for 3 hour study hall.
The classroom teacher would be fired on the spot. Why is a football coach not fired for the same conduct? The importance of football to the community does not give the coach the right to act as he did last Saturday at the dome.
Mr. DePaul do you use a different set of standards to evaluate coaches.
Does the board allow this because football is so important?
Shame on you!

This was the article Dum-Bass said was in the Moultrie Observer.

Really. Maybe you should have been paying attention during English grammar class instead of on the football field. In reality they have similarities. They both desire to get the best out of you and “teach” you to succeed. But, that’s what happens when you go out and hire “high profile.” You get everything that comes with it. Coach had a high school football “reality show.” Did anyone do a thorough community check before he was hired, or knowing the fact that you could bring someone in get your football program to a national level was worth more than the risks involved. Sounds like Colquitt County was star struck. Did it not dawn on the community that there was something wrong when he was bringing 19 year old kids in from Alabama because their high school elegibility had run out. Or was this overlooked because Colquitt was getting back on the map. Why would he not develope the home grown talent of Colquitt County? Rapid rise means rapid fall. Colquitt has an abundance of homegrown talent. It has to be developed. How can you allow players from another state to come into your program and put your kids who have grownup in the program, who have went through every stage of the program on the bench and tell them that they lack the talent? You get what you pay for.

Sportsnut, I know the, the AJC picked Cedar Grove to win that game last week and I posted about Columbia’s running back then. I was just saying after last week they got it right this week.

You clowns never disappoint on here. Why do you even care, he’s not coaching your team? And are you really comparing a classroom to a locker room? Has to be one the dumbest things I’ve ever seen on here. And once again, those two players were cleared by the GHSA, you think you know more than them? And finally, name one competitive team in this state that hasnt brought in a player from somewhere else.

And dum-bass, really? If only they had 5 more mins huh? Well they didn’t, that’s how the game is played, with a clock ya know. How many times did central stop us. Out offense is getting in a rhythm, and while the defense needs to step up some, we were also playing against one of the best athletes in the state and maybe the best for next year. If they only had 5 more minutes, what a joke. How many times is that excuse used. But but but

Lovejoy can easily win this game if their offense is all its cracked up to be. Our defense has been giving up nig plays all year and until it stops there’s not a whole lot of confidence out there. We will score some points, but until our defense figures some things out, we can be beat

Woodland / Cartersville coming to “THE BONEYARD” tonight against the RAIDERS from EAST!

We are holding our breath and keeping fingers crossed that LOTS of changes were discussed and made since last Fridays game at North Paulding. This SHOULD be a game where EAST can get on track to put the pieces in place before they have back to back games with Hiram & Rome…get past those two games with wins and EAST has Allatoona as its last game of the season before the playoffs start.

The CANNON’S loaded and the stands will be packed…it’s RAIDER TIME!!!

TICK…TICK…TICK…BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

just sayin–lip readers on the CCHS coach–very interesting choice of verbs/nouns–and the players hear this—very good example for players NOT—there are some good home grown coaches in the immediate area–that will develop young players—-just sayin
